Great video! I have 3 things to say here. First to Jenna. The first time I got married back in the early 70s, we were taking wedding photos, and my wife’s mother delivered the most outrageous but funniest words I have ever heard in my life: “Smile, Roberta. That’s the best you’re ever going to look.” I think that outrageous line to a bride deserves to be in a Woody Allen movie or something. And number 2. I am 72. My dad died at age 56 when I was 18, after enduring a decade of surgeries for brain blood clots, throat cancer, lung cancer, and on and on. He had been a severe alcoholic who repeatedly tried to kill himself all through my childhood. His voice box got removed due to cancer, so he smoked his cigarettes through the hole in his throat. He was miserable all my life. He has been gone now for almost as many years as he lived, and all these years I have struggled to understand why he did all the self destructive things he did. Dr. Fuhrman, I think your explanation here about being starved for unconditional love as a child causing one to seek short term pleasure to make up for one’s own unease with oneself finally gives me a huge insight into my dad’s lifelong struggle with alcohol and depression. Thank you so much for that! And #3, while I am surrounded by junk food addicts everywhere I go, the reason I am one of the rare individuals who has chosen a nutritarian diet and lifestyle for the past 15 years, and I have emphasized health and fitness for most of my adult life, is and has been to avoid the fate of my horribly unhealthy and miserable father. I married a woman 40 years ago who shares my values for fitness and health. My doctor told me that I have the blood pressure of a healthy 18 year old. We take no meds. We take only the supplements that you recommend, including your vegan Omega-3 oil. We fast 16 to 18 hours a day, we work out at a gym regularly, we eat the right raw nuts and seeds with meals. We have a great life, I grow my own microgreens, and we hope and plan to be around for a very long time. Thank you for all your help and for all you do!
Interesting how what you are saying Dr Furhman are Biblical principles! “Love Your neighbor!” “Love your enemies” “gratitude” and as we are walking in Gods ways we can walk in Confidence and not turn to food to fill our life stress/ struggles. You also mentioned not “judge.” Whole (PLANT)food lifestyle is even Biblical. Great insight & information!!
Love love love it 🌟❤💕thank you so much for making these episodes. There is so much value in there, so much to learn, literally the recipe for health and a better world. I could listen to you both all day.
Beautiful conversation. I continue to deepen my admiration for Dr. Fuhrman. (Jenna is pretty awesome too!) I read ETL over 11 years ago and transformed my life. I’m that kind of person lol. But I have been surprised at the reactions of others….. this conversation is very helpful. Thank you.
Love the emotional integrity connecting the mind to make empowering choices really inspiring, happy wedding day to Dr Fuhrmans daughter a beautiful caring and compassionate family
I listen to your podcast on Spotify. I love it, and love the work you're doing. However, I did want to know if you were aware that , on Spotify, a McDonald's ad played beforehand. It was this episode. I pay for the ad free version so I'm not sure if this is something they did or if this was something you allowed . I find it hard to believe that the latter is the case given the content of your podcast. Just something you may want to look into.
@@natalielewis7982do you know that or are you inferring that? I assumed he would be against it too, but there was long term data published in the last few years suggesting that low fat dairy is cardio-protective and is correlated with lower all cause mortality. I don’t know how robust that finding is and whether Fuhrman finds it compelling. Would like to know. If you’re unsure, please say so. If you’ve heard him say that non-fat yogurt is still to be avoided, pls say that too.
What a wonderful podcast! Opened my eyes as to why my mother and father were the way they were. Both did not have good childhoods. And obviously they could not give me what they never had.

Just wondering what research he was reading from?

What a beautiful episode! Thank you so much 😊 Congrats on your big day! Wishing you both a lifetime of love and laughter 💞
LOVED!!!♥
Does Dr Fuhrman believe that fat free, plain Greek yogurt is sub-optimal (or to be avoided)?
Yes, he is anti animal protein
I make a super delicious EASY yogurt from soy milk in the instant pot.
