Two lore heavy Metroid videos coming soon. 1, The Origin Story of the Metroids. 2, The Metroid Manga EXPLAINED.
If you could only have Prime games, or the 2D games, what would you choose?
The Metroid manga is not canon. This video convinced the Spanish Metroid wiki to declare it as such: ruclips.net/video/M7_ojZUv-To/видео.html
I'd rather have the Prime stuff, but just barely as I love the immersiveness of the Prime games
Also, what you said is so true, Metroid (the franchise) is so underrated
2D games are the best for me.
I had given up on the series ever coming back to 2D when Dread was announced and only expected remakes or remasters of the older games... Dread ever being released was so awesome that I still can't believe it.
2D
A small detail about metroid fusion: apparently in the japanese version its clear that the group of scientists that were genetically engineering metroids was a small rogue faction and that fact was lost in the process of localization for the english versions, and this explains why in dread Samus isn't being pursued by the Galactic Federation at large
thanks for that actually, i was a little confuseed by how chill they were XD
I couldn't figure out Metroid until I played prime remastered. Once I beat that I went back to dread and now I'm halfway thru it. Actually like dread more
One advice to new players: shoot everything
And as soon as you get the powerbomb, use it in every room.
Just to be clear: EVERYTHING.
Golden eye 64 style lol
And the Prime corollary: scan everything
Added advice for Metroid prime. Scan everything then shoot it.
new games would still be called metroid since it's the chozo word for ultimate warrior, and last i check it describes Samus very well
Just recently played Metroid (NES) and Super Metroid (SNES). Then, very recently completed Dread (4 times and counting) and now Prime. Dread is my favorite by quite a bit because the controls are so great! The esthetic is cool too!
Omg how was playing the original? I could never 😆
One piece of advice for newcomers: No you are not softlocked
Lol. THIS.
Good to know, because I've only ever played one metroid game so far, and for the LONGEST time I thought I was stuck somehow x3
laughs in "noob bridge"
The first time I played Super Metroid in 1994, I thought I was exactly this because I didn't know where the ice beam was. Lol
I just beaten Metroid Prime, and the game was hella fun
That’s awesome, I remeber starting with Super Metroid as a kid and being hooked on having to explore and be curious. It’s def a game for people with patience and are naturally inquisitive.
Nintendo: if you breath the wrong way then you’re using our ip without permission
Also Nintendo: uses alien as inspiration
PSA: If you're new to 2D Metroid/Metroid at all PLAY ZERO MISSION!
Your channel is growing very fast !!! Happy to see so much Metroid content again ! You make high quality content, keep up the good work man !
Man... I'm glad I subbed to your channel. Hope to see more Metroid and Zelda content in the future. Best of luck to you, Zeltroid.
Alien isn't Metroid's only or even main influence. Check out A Critical Hit!'s video on the hidden influences of Metroid. Really awesome video essay. Think you'd dig it.
Prime is part of the storyline.
It happens between metroid and metroid 2.
Ive considered myself a metroid fan for a while but i didnt even know about the Alien movie inspirations. Ridley is just a director. Lul
All you NEED to know is where the power button is and how to enable GAME MODE on your TV :P
I know who some of the characters are, but I never knew the full story until I started playing Metroid Dread.
I'm still new to Metroid lore but I Had no idea the prime games took place between the first 2 games, I thought they happened after Super Metroid
My to tips (the same I got before playing the games back in the day)
1: When not shooting keep that Arm Canon charging no matter what.
2 (for Prime only): Beware of enemies above you.
Lol the franchise is so under rated an entire genre is named after it
Morphball bomb everything on the screen. Every tile, every frame.
My #1 bit of advice with Dread. Learn how to sequence break and do early Gravity Suit.
It turns the Purple EMMI from an exercise of frustration to something you can legitimately get away from.
You only briefly mentioned Zero Mission a video mentioning the differences between Metroid 1 and Zero Mission is just my suggestion
Just went thru fusion, zero mission, super.. in the middle of am2r.. but as soon as this video is over, I'm about to start prime. I've never played any of the first person metroids. I think I'm either going to love it or hate it. When I finish prime.. I'm moving to dread. I love this game.
Where does Metroid Zero Mission fit into the story line?
It is a remake of the first metroid, with an additional mini mission at the end. Largely considered a faithful and great remake by the community.
❤🎉
Metroid fusion is literally just 1982’s The Thing
I hope zero mission comes to switch online expansion service
☄️☄️😅
Metroid Prime 1-3 is actually part of the whole series.
Metroid 1, Metroid Prime 1-3, Metroid 2.
The creator considers them equally Metroid as the 2D games.
Soooo what does this have to do with prime? lol
Prime just came out on Switch. This video is for newcomers to the franchise so he would have to mention it.
@@calebgoodman3028 I know I’m just saying prime is a spin off and he didn’t talk about prime any of how it connects to the main story.. he just talks about 1-5 and just briefly shows the morph ball in metorid prime
First of all the prime trilogy is not considered a spinoff federation force was tho.
Secondly The chronological order was wrong as well its Metroid/Metroid Zero Mission>Prime 1>Hunters>Prime 2>prime 3>federation force>super metroid>other m>fusion>dread
Please we already have new metroid fans so do your research correctly and don't spread misinformation.
Saying the Prime trilogy isn’t a “Spinoff” is simply arguing semantics. I said the Metroid Prime series is canon, which is what matters. Also, the order of the games I MENTIONED, is in the correct chronological order. Just because I didn’t talk about Hunters, Federation Force and Other M, doesn’t mean I was omitting them from the chronological canon. I was simply talking about Metroid 1-5 and the Prime trilogy. Maybe think it through next time before you comment, trying to sound like a know it all.
You also 4got about metroid 2 return of Sammy, my nibble. 🦬
@@zeltroid Saying that the prime series are spin offs is not arguing semantics it's just straight up false information they are Metroidvanias just like the 2d games.
And leaving out prime and other m when counting the chronological order is just weird to me maybe the deep metroid fan in me got a bit triggered I apologize for that!
@@Training_Wheels ye I forgor but it shouldn't matter to much since its just a remake of metroid 2
@@veapron2452
Nah I'm saying u 4got metroid 2 in your list at all. 🦢
