so the kids who might be half anglo american and half French embraces their French side just to seem exotic, even black Americans do it in the south when they’re mixed with Cherokee or chuctor or Chickasaw, they outright claim to be native, because it’s more exotic.
In NY most children of mixed cultures embraces their foreign heritage when it’s convenient, and also embraces their American culture when it’s convenient, and no one is forcing it on them. during Labor Day they rock the flag of their immigrant parent or grand parent, it’s a cool feeling to belong to a group on that day, so why not let them??
it’s not rocket science when children embrace a movement when they’re out numbered culturally. Most black Americans in Texas gravitate to Mexican culture, and reason being it’s that it’s the dominant culture in that region, and people like to belong to something cool, it’s human nature dude, and really not a big deal.
