The Ubuntu Budgie 23.04 on my HP notebook has been terrific for two months. It's every bit as good as LMDE5 Cinnamon on the desktop and Kabuntu 23.04 on my 2017 iMac i5 7500. Terrific products.

Ubuntu theme and icons are great. Also very fast in 4 GB RAM. crashes should be fixed in final release . left side dock is very useful always..

4gb ram is not ideal for a DE like GNOME. I suggest using lubuntu because lxqt is a nice kde-like looking desktop. Also using KDE in wayland is better than Xorg nowadays because wayland is a much simpler protocol.

    1) it's a beta version, 2) you're running it on a VM. What kind of experience do you expect? ...

@@RetroJason25 I used VM to show only the installation process. All demo and experiences I shown on real hardware ( on two laptops ). I have to address the problems so that they can be fixed. Hope so that updated packages will fix the issues in final release.

Let me get your complaints right:
1.) Installer crashed -- Beta software is beta. Also, if running in a virtual machine, those beta problems are all the more pronounced.
2.) Snap loading time -- I have honestly not noticed this. Yes, first run of Firefox takes ~10 seconds, and then after that it's 2-3 seconds. I can wait 2 seconds for an app to start. Also, you question why Ubuntu uses Snap -- it's their creation, that's why.
3.) Software center slow and buggy -- Again, beta software is beta.
4.) Snap download sizes: you have a point here. My home country of Kenya is lacking in data, so I can understand that point. I don't know how they can improve that, though.
5.) Missing animations from settings -- I have 23.04 installed on hardware and I do see the animations. Possibly virtualization coming in to play, or they fixed the bug since the launch of this video.
6.) OS Freezes -- Beta is beta, and also virtualization.
7.) Gnome Tweak tool not installed by default -- Easy enough to install. Ubuntu has never pre-loaded Gnome Tweak.
You also mentioned ZFS not being present on Ubuntu early on in the video. There are not many distros that offer ZFS out of the gate. NixOS I know does but that is the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Even Arch requires getting "ZFS on Linux" to use ZFS.

Thanks a lot to watch my video thoroughly and mentioning the important points. Actually I see more bugs in Ubuntu beta compared to other beta distros. I hope these will be fixed in final release... More discussions will make Linux better in future.. 👍👍

@@TechWorldDeb I don't know if it's more bugs, but... I haven't used a beta version of Ubuntu in quite a few years. There are two issues I've found that you didn't mention:
1.) "Black Firefox." If you restart while Firefox is running, there is a chance that you will get a black window when re-opening Firefox. You have to hit the close button (it still exists,) wait for Firefox to die, and then restart it.
2.) If Snap needs to update the "snap-store"... you can't update it from Software. Since Software is using snap-store, it will not let you upgrade it. You have to go into terminal and do "sudo snap refresh snap-store" to update it. I really hope Canonical addresses that issue before release.

Flatpaks can be installed after the distro has been installed and used instead of snaps. I always install them as soon as I have installed any Ubuntu distro.

Ubuntu 23.04 is hot garbage. The installer is a mess and even if you get it working the desktop is very buggy. Do Not install it

Everything just seems so inefficient and clunky. I dunno what's happening with Ubuntu lately. Like you said, default Gnome is much better, and just about any other distro is more convenient than Ubuntu now.

Yes it's popularity decreases. It's now difficult to use Ubuntu as daily basis...
