We live in Northern California and my dad said he's only once used larger than a .679 except when using old, swollen paint to make sure our guns still work. I don't know what about Michigan makes the paint .682-.685 but it blows my mind.
I'm also in Michigan and yup humidity. I find bore match go up a size or two and have had great results with that over the years. Paint here can vary a LOT between manufacturer and said humidity/temp. For example Evil at LL11 had to be pressed out of my .687 inserts with a swab. Local paint is .679 - .682 like clockwork. I've only ever used .677/.679/.682 here with closed bolt markers like cockers/shoeboxes.
Depends on the marker’s stock barrel. On my 170r barrel system doesn’t make a big difference because the stock barrel is already .689 which is the standard for most paintballs. I upgraded to Silencio FXL tip and back w/ freak xl kit but mainly for looks because as you said it didnt make much of a difference however on my etha 2, the freak kit was a definite upgrade from stock barrel.

They recently released a barrel back for the empire mini and axe it allows you to add inserts while keeping the original barrel look it also adds an inch to the barrel
Bore sizing paint is a gimmick, I use a .689 all the time and I have no problems with accuracy or breaking paint because they swell up in heat and you sized your paint to a small bore size 🤣🤣 accuracy comes down to paint quality 👍
@@realshit6061 yeah true but it's when the paint heats up and swells to a bigger size it no longer is a tight fit, the paint is too big to go through the bore now so it will break in your barrel, that's why I use a .689 to allow for the paint heating up during the day and never get a break but still accurate.

Question as it is relating to barrels, what gun did the Freak FR Barrel come on, if any, when it was available could it be bought just as a barrel? I also don't understand why PE retired it in favor of the FL kit when the FL only has 4 sizes.
For sure get tippmann A5 or a Tippmann 98 custom If your on a budget. But if you have some money to spend and know your going to get into it for sure I would save up a little and get the axe 2.0 or The Planet Eclipse etha 2.
The syx has what’s called “autococker threads” you need to find an autococker threaded barrel which is easy because it’s the most common type of barrel
I would definitely get the mini gs over the g5. The Etha 2 is also a good option but I would try to see if you could hold both in your hands to see which feels better. I prefer the mini gs over Etha but I know a lot of people say the Minis and axes are too small

I’ve shot all three. I bought a mini gs for my first gun. My buddy got a etha 2 and later on my other buddy got a g5. The mini works well for what it is, still have it as a backup. It’s a pain in the ass to maintain. The g5 constantly leaked and he sold it for a luxe and my buddy with the etha 2 sold his for 170r. The etha 2 ran well, no problems. I got the mini brand new, the etha 2 and g5 were both used when my buddy’s got them. My honest opinion is to go with the etha 2. Way more reliable and easier to maintain than the mini. The g5 was terrible stay away
I run the freak barrel system on my etha 2 works great. I am using that gun as my backup now. My new marker for tournaments I have the freak xl kit with Silencio FXL barrel tip & back on my 170r great shooter.

Have you ever tried Hammerhead Paintball Sharktooth 8" barrel just put more weight on my JT Tac-5 recon adjustable stock double weight feels like half weight ,preposterous not true carry 50lbs in backback not in Mil Was LISTENING dumb luck may payoff here now hold 20lbs coddling like a baby now feels as if 20lbs in total front lunchbox style cubby pack holds 1 plate armor perhaps ROPE! Have that one a waterproof float backback waterproof and submerge blatter

BARRELS HAVE NO IMPROVEMENT ON ACCURACY. Just putting that out there so we have less people seeing this video and wasting money on a kit. THE ONLY WAY TO IMPROVE ACCURACY IS BY USING BETTER PAINT.
Yeah if all paint was as high quality as the old dynasty paint with banana scent there wouldn't even be bore sizing kits available because that was the most accurate paint in history using a .689 barrel!!!
