@@thecozytrader00 Funny enough, there are actually academic papers connecting Liszt's piano sonata to this work which was published some years earlier rather than the other way around. But definitely in some other pieces, one can see Alkan taking inspiration from Liszt, like in the style of his Op. 15 or Op. 76. And that phrase you linked actually reminds me of bar 153 of the Liszt Sonata which was again published some years later.
