Thanks Michael ! Extra awesome sesh, your nuanced teachings continue to impress. Much appreciated the specificity and clarification RE vipassana vs vipashyana and dropping the ball vs open monitoring. 🙏

Michael the grey, that was another awesome meditation. Somehow they seem to keep deepening further and you manage to explain the subtleties more clearly. Thanks.

Tried to make the comment once but whew the noticing the breath from awareness solidified the entire thing. I’m new to this after practicing TM primarily.

nifty little sesh michael, just did it, much improving, much fun. always good to grab some clues, i sometimes find myself meditating without an idea of what technique i should be using. so structure is good. and speaking as a rebel who doesnt like structure at all, you may count that as high praise indeed

I almost got lost when I had to notice my breath from awareness. Really never attempted that and it solidified everything. If that makes sense. I do TM and this is very new.

Yeah, this tripped me up, too. It felt like I kept bouncing from awareness to awareness and have not experienced non-dual awareness yet. Great meditation, though!

Thank you for this! It was interesting to observe how when doing vipashyana and then observing the sense of self/ego what happens. Each time I would feel sukha. However, it's difficult for me to observe some of the more subtleties. I have a pressure in my eyes and between them that seems permanent like concrete (it's not of courses). My awareness seems to come from this point. I've been trying to release this pressure for over a year but haven't had success yet. Any effort or observation simply results in reification of the pressure. I've written about it on the dharma overground and had some suggestions. That is how I found you! I'll keep dropping the ball to see if it helps. However, even when I rest in awareness I feel a lot of busy/erratic energy bouncing around. I'm not sure if it's path related or not. Thanks again!

Would you say a few words about why open eyes are good for nondual?

"It’s also useful to do this practice with your eyes open, because vision seems to anchor the feeling of subject/object duality more than any other sense. Most of us feel quite strongly that we are behind our eyes, looking out at a world that is over there. But the truth-subjectively speaking; I’m not making a claim about physics-is that everything is just appearing in consciousness. Losing the sense of subject/object duality with your eyes open can be the most vivid way to experience this shift in perception. That’s why Dzogchen practitioners tend to meditate with their eyes open." - Sam Harris
