BABYMETAL are excellent. This song is an earworm. The Kamis are experts. All that is true. Then there is Su. Su is simply in a league her own. World class.

Bubblegum Fever 🧼🥵
'awa' ='泡, あわ, アワ'=bubbles, 'dama' ='玉, たま, タマ (tama)'=balls (In the Japanese way of pronunciation, the 'ta' in 'tama' is muddled and becomes 'da') So the word 'awadama' would means 'bubble balls'. I can understand what it means but it is not so common one amoug our Japanese, and it sounds like a coined word. But I love this song.
As Nothsor said, BABYMETAL formed in 2010, 12 years ago when Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. They were a sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin and became an independent band in their own right in 2013. Their first "world tour" was in 2014.
'Awadama Fever' is a great song, chew on this chewing gum or bubblegum, step aboard the mint flavoured time machine and the only limits to where it can take you are your own dreams.
Again as Nothsor said, this may or may not have been a response to the haters and critics who accused them of playing "bubblegum pop-metal with squeaky high voices". This is special bubblegum and if you believe then there is no limit to how far it might go or where it might take you. Dream on.

This one was written for them by the same guy that wrote 'Gimme Chocolate!!', Takeshi Ueda.
He's best known for the electronic punk band The Mad Capsule Markets.
The choreography makes a little more sense when you know that "Awadama Fever" means "Bubble Fever".
Unfortunately, they haven't performed this one since 2017 when Yui was still in the group.

someone posted in another reaction to this song something like....when someone said BM was just bubble gum pop, they responded with a song about chewing gum :) whether it's true or not, makes for a good story. Plus who wouldn't want a mint-flavored time machine :) BabyMetal was formed in 2010, so they have been together for 12 years. Su currently is 24 and Moa and Yui are both 23 (if I mathed properly) though as you know Yui left in 2018

It's really annoying when a reactor spends half the video looking at something else. It gives off the feeling like you'd rather be doing something else.
Where do you get these stupid compilations from? The beginning was from Catch me if you can. Editing is terrible. Missed the true start of this song. I like the song but not this compilation since it takes away from real performance.
Although I do feel the same about live compilations and some editing, this one got the original sound of the Awadama Fever Kami Band intro live at Red Fox Festival 2017 (there's also a Silver Fox Festival version and that was the last time they performed this song) and then switch to Tokyo Dome 2016 sound. The Kami Band intro got clips from Red Fox (Ohmura's pink guitar, Mikio's beige guitar), and Silver Fox (Ohmura and Mikio both with black and red arrow guitar) and i guess there are some clips from CMIYC Kami Band intro at Trilogy 2015 and Wembley Arena 2016, so that might be the confusion. If you pay attention the drum&bass base are different from CMIYC base.
Btw the one who did this just for fun was a 13 yo kid back then, still is a kid thou, and is the only source we can get to see a reaction to this song with the Kami Band intro, i think Papa Xan did upload the Red Fox Version and it was heavily audio blocked, there's only live at Trilogy 2015 version over there but without Kami intro.🦊🤘
