Thanks for the tip, I just got Donny and Leo from the Pizza Club TMNT Cartoon figures and I've delayed opening them for the past week or two out of pure fear of busting them. I usually avoid NECA for this same reason
Joint lock mainly happens when a joint is warped or the joint connection was not properly lubricated. They use a drop of teflon based oil when putting action figures together and when not used Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene and polypropylene can almost bond together when its warm and bare plastic.
Thank you for the tip I’m buying my brother an action figure and I’ve watched a video and it waits it has a lot of tight joints hopes this fixes the action figure if I have to thank you for the tips
I know this Video is old but i have a question,i have the old unmasked berserker predator and want to use him for stop motion. Would this method also work for figures as old and stiff as him??
Thanks for the video. I'm the new guy you talked about. I'm opening my 1st action figure right now and doing a little research on how to avoid breakage
Wish I'd done this on my 80th anniversary snyder batman. When I pulled it out the tin, the leg snapped. £30 wasted. Did glue it back together, but it's not the same
Another great video Rocco! There's also a great video on Integrity Toys channel about loose joints if anyone has that problem, they show you how to tighten joints without sticking them permanently as Integrity are expensive.
Im a little late on this but i have one crazy tip for you guys. Silicon oil people use to make their airsoft gun work longer will do a wonderfull job preservating the joints and helping them move. Silicon oil has been made especially to preservate joints in an airsoft gun. I personnaly have been using it for years and it helped me a lot where getting the plastic hot wouldnt help. I havent broke a single action figure since. (Rip marvel universe 3inches iron man and deadpool that i would have saved if i knew this tip)
i have a sh figuarts spiderman infinity war figure, and it’s torso, like the bottom half of the body that holds the top on, it’s kinda hard to explain, but it isn’t at the very bottom, it’s right where the figure bends, whenever I move it just a little, it pops off and I have to put it back on. It’s a ball joint btw. Sorry for making such a long comment, just wanted to know if you knew any tips besides nail polish since those tools aren’t available to me.
After heating it up with the blow dryer do you gotta cool it down afterwards or just let it cool down on it’s own? Sorry I’m pretty new to having to heat up figure joints and didn’t wanna do anything wrong haha
@@ROCCOTHEGREAT I was so worried that I'd break the ball & joints of the Child's Play (Bride of Chucky) Set. I bought them from NECA on Amazon for $68w/shipping, but the other sellers were asking about $100. So I searched for help.
Never thought about water getting stuck and possible mold. That's the only method I've used for the over 30 Neca figures I own. Now I'm paranoid, lol. Looks like I'll be using a hair dryer from now on.
Thank you for posting these tips. As a newish collector it is much appreciated. And once again thank you for the sub.

I'll give this a try on my NECA Child's Play figures. Thank You.
I'm trying to save money so an extra hair dryer isnt an option. However, the idea of a ziplock bag in hot water was an amazing idea, thanks!

I feel your pain man I had a 1954 neca Godzilla and the tail broke off and every time I glue it it always falls off not the same
Great video. I can't tell you how many D.C. figures have broke on me on the past. And I'm always careful with figures.
yea man you can never be too sure. i literally just broke a neca in my last video review because i didnt heat them up before! it gets us all! haha
ROCCOTHEGREAT aaah that's a shame
U can use hot water too :) i sometimes do this with water that's been in the microwave for 3 min, works well for me
With the blow dryer how long should I use it on stiff joints and how close should I put it the blow dryer to the joints

BLESSS! haha
If I want to loosen up the arms how long do I have to do it?(with blow dryer)
Cool neca predator
Cheers dude 👍... 10 minute videos actually put me off watching things!
Who was the other figure alongside Predator?
I was planning on buying a bring arts figure but my ptsd of bring arts sora lead me here.

Buy some KIKI or or Dr Dstar's Fixer Elixier. Either of these will tighten that joint nicely.
That Predator is really awesome! I guess it is from Neca but Rocco please tell me what model it is because I want to buy it.
Super late but this is the Fugitive Predator from The Predator (2018) by Neca.
@@paulofernandesroberto9336 Thanks!

yea you can. or you can put the cold air on it to cool it! . or have cold water and dip it
What if u just completely dip them in super hot water?
Subscribed.
appreciate that! I do a little of EVERYTHING HERE! I just try to entertain most!

yea man that water thing spooked me too, the dryer is faster and you can target whatever limb you need easier! good luck
