i loved this song! they also released 'right now' with this song and it is like a fusion between jazz and drum and bass i believe, but it would be interesting if you could check it out too and give your thoughts. they've dived into a more 90's vibe lately, bubble gum is one of my favorites from them, how sweet is also quite 90's. they've done some uk garage songs as well, and r&b (like their debut song)

you have to think of the audience they are producing for and also is a huge over seas debut song so, MHJ and 250 know what they are doing, im pleased once again. i think too much bass would have been too much considering who is on stage and the audience, just imo.

Discovered you from this NewJeans vid... they are very different in kpop and always do 90s sounds based around 90s RnB and its Clubland variants of Miami Bass and New Jack Swing and also 90S UK and US Clubland styles... mostly UK Garage but also Jersey Club and Drum and Bass.. please do more of them I AM SO GLAD to have finally found someone who actually knows about the genres! Judging by you liking New Jack Swing i would say give 'How Sweet' a reaction... i don't know if you want to know the genre so i wont say but i think its right up your alley :)

As a child of the 80s and 90s, This one struck me as a city pop song (this song is for the Japanese market after all) but with the new jack sounds to flavor it. That’s why it’s lacking that bass. Check out their Coca Cola song Zero remix with JID, that’s got some bass in there lol. If you want another blast from the past from an all Japanese group, try Left Right by XG. They always sing in English.

Fyi, PW is credited for sample only, the producer for this song is 250
pharell produced the original song that this samples .... he had a very small part in production by changing his adlibs of the original to fit in with this song before leaving the rest to 250... but tbh even the fact he had like 2% involvement of production is cool as hell to me
