Hero is dumb, ridiculous, crazy, and unpredictable, and that's EXACTLY why I love him.
Because no matter how much you hate RNG or his OP spells, I still say:
Hero is fun-

He's way too fun a character to fight against for me to be remotely upset about anything.
You can like a character because there's lots of RNG shenanigans, or you can like the stability of competition and approved characters and maps. Some of the players clamoring for more RNG are the same people calling for banning stages for hazards and it's literally the same principle behind the characters they play.
I just want smash fans to be consistent.
Hero is peak Smash Bros character design, no character will be as fun as him. Ever.
He’s fun but he shouldn’t be allowed in tournament. A top player could easily get booted out of the tourney early because some lower-skill player got 2 lucky crits. That completely changes the bracket going forward and affects who ultimately wins or loses, even if the lucky hero loses next game.

The absolute best DLC character due to how chaotic he can get with the RNG and Command Selections. Hero will probably never get surpassed in terms of Gameplay.
I think it's *not* good design to revolve a character around one gimmick (obvious example is Lucario). And I still like Joker and Terry more. But hero is fun, that much is true.

@Jeremiah Soto to me, the only thing bad is his moveset, most of his attacks are just copied from other characters and his up smash is probably the worst in the game, but apart from that, pretty solid character

Not really true to be honest. You can totally lose due to bad luck. What about on Yoshis Island back in melee? The little cloud can possibly save people. If you lost due to that would you not have lost due to bad luck? Melee has phantom hits too. Playing online what if lag screws you over? That's unlucky. Funny 2D man, peach, and Luigi all have luck based mechanics too

@@Graysett Well, he actually got buffed, but I feel like a fix on his F-Smash's hitbox won't hurt, compared to Ness' Yo-Yo, Corrin's chainsaw effect is a joke. I can feel your pain, I secondary Corrin and I know how sad is to see your character not getting a good recognition, even if his presence in the game is just a big "please guys buy FE Dates". And I don't think that the montages help, I can only think of a few that actually helps you to improve your Corrin.
I've honestly never played an FE and have no desire to, but Corrin hooked me In Sm4sh and playing them in 5mash feels awful. Thankfully Byleth came out and fit me like a glove so I've moved on, but man is it still depressing.

People still hate Hero when he's not even THAT good. He's super fun, but he's not broken or anything. Sure some of his spells are really good, but you still have be in the right position, at the right time, and get the right pull to even land most of that stuff. Hero actually takes some skill
Hero takes skill, but he is broken. Just watch when he's developed, he will be a nightmare
Hero is absolutely broken. For example: Why does he have crits? No other character has crits like he does. I can play better than my opponent the entire match but still lose because the game decided it was time for a crit and neither of us gets to choose when it happens. There’s an easy fix to this specific problem; have his down b have an option that stores a crit for his next smash attack. Or even just make his already existing “Oomph” do that. There’s plenty of ways to fix this character but as of right now he is absolutely busted and should not be allowed in tournaments until his issues are addressed (including the things that make his character bad, such as frame data).
@@marcuspaquette1767 So is he broken or bad? Which is it? Also everyone knows crits are just pure, stupid character privilege, but how is taking away the randomness going to make it less prevalent? Hero's menu is lot more accessible than a smash attack, so he can look for a crit spell a lot easier than just fishing for crits. That just means the hero now has control over crits and you still don't.
@@marcuspaquette1767 I mean but his smash attacks aren't even that good, so I just feel for every broken element they have something to balance it out. Like how Thwack and Whack can kill at 0%, but the chances are so low that they only really increase the chance to kill at percents you'd normally kill at anyways. Or Hatchet Man can instantly break sheilds, but it's slow and doesn't have that much range, on top of you never know when you'll get it so you can't reallly set it up like Byleth's down b. His frame data is pretty bad, I mean he's got good elements, but I just don't feel he's as broken as people think and he's my pocket character
In replying on mobile so I’m just gonna address a few things:
Having his crit be in his command wheel allows me to play around that, as it is right now it’s already difficult to play around the character because of how he works since he can kill at 0. Once he exhausted that crit I can then adjust my movements because in the event he does land a hit I can be certain “ok this is worth the risk/reward because worst case scenario I only take a set amount of damage and can try again” instead of “He can literally kill me at a much lower percentage and or can come from above, below, or even from the side “. I’ve analyzed this character for a very long time and I’ve even created a spreadsheet of how I’d fix him since he is a broken character (lows do not balance out his highs).
Long story short: I like the idea of Hero but they went too far in his rng to the point where skill doesn’t matter as much anymore. If they just made some minor changes I honestly think he’d be a really great well-rounded character.
The clip at 6:33 perfectly displays the havoc Hero wreaks upon Competitive Play. Not because of the Gameplay, but the UI: They spent so much time and effort making a fancy overlay that fits around the % meters, but here comes Hero's big square Menu to completely ruin it. XD

Nah he doesn't sheild break himself. Using a Full Up B on double Bounce makes it do 400% dmg or something crazy. Sage used it twice on him.
"Toast is the best player in the world" was in response to using Whack and aiming it above Sage and him jumping into it.
"Sage is the best player in the world" is in response to him usung the double Bounce Kaswoosh to break Toast's sheild and deal 337%.
Sage made the mistake of jumping into a Whack. But Toast made the mistake of not fearing Kaswoosh when he and another Hero have Bounce active.

I still don't fully understand why Kaswoosh can deal 400% if both it's user and it's target have Bounce active but I love it.
Bounce’s reflection increases the power of the two individual tornadoes, and being reflected many times must have added all the way up to 400%
