    2 brothers who ran the Ampol petrol station at Warners Bay NSW in 90,s drove a Nissan Patrol across the bottom of Lake Macquarie from Marmong point to Warners bay. The Patrol sat out the front of the petrol station on display while being built. It was a petrol engine and had a floating pontoon on the surface with snorkels going down for air intake and exhaust. It packed it in half way across and was towed to shore by a barge.

The human spirit is one of the few forces that can't be measured and Australians have amazing spirit. See you at the World Cup may the best team win and the others continue the dream of one day, hopefully ours isn't a nightmare????? By the way I had shark for lunch.

    Maybe filling the tyres with a soft gel with a low pressure rather than water would give you more tread, just as low air pressure on dry sand give a larger tread pattern. You could simulate that with gel and just weigh down the car with lead weights if needed.

    • @kadecampbell8098
      @kadecampbell8098 Год назад +6

      Gel is more dense than water, and provides more rolling resistance. Filling them with water while underwater is similar to filling with air while in air.

    i may not have a Landcruiser but im happy with my lifted awd chevy express 1500 got it setup with a snorkel and a tank so it can go under running for a decent while but it is airtight so needs it ballast or it floats sadly i gotta fix it because some doughnut rear ended it but otherwise i think yours is the better option for crossing like that i bet the pressure would crush my van in and i would need a exhaust hose because at about 24 ft deep cant get the exhaust out but thats for a future revision
