If you're doing a normal bust, you'd be switching the direction of the spin pretty quickly so it won't be smooth. You'd have to do a bust rev to keep the direction of the spin the same.

The context if your question says that's supposed to mean finger slots or something.. but if you learn shadow, I would learn catching the normal shadow in different finger slots before learning shadow rev. The reason for this is because you'll want to get the normal shadow well-learned before you try the reverse just so you don't "confuse" your fingers with directions and whatnot.
