I honestly just respect the honest statement of, “The Amex Centurion Black Card makes you feel like a baller.” This really is a niche card that I likely won’t qualify for, but it’s loads of fun to hear about it from a real user, especially someone that worked for it! Awesome video!
The first time I saw this card, I was a bank teller maybe 6 months in. 22 years old. A senior teller saw it, came over and told me to basically action anything they wanted as they were private banking status. They didn't even need to stand in a public line. They just liked being social! - Nice people. Some people floss, some people like blending in!
My boss has one and uses it for us when we travel. We get to go into the Centurion Lounge guaranteed, even if it’s full. That’s the best benefit to me. He’s really cautious about pulling it out in public, because that card attracts attention. He doesn’t like to flex on people.
I mean, he likes the concierge and the perks that come with it, but he doesn’t want to kick up a fuss and attract the wrong kind of attention. He had a guy follow him out of a store once and trail him for a few blocks after the guy saw the card. Boss ducked into a department store and lost the guy.

I disagree, actually. The old one looks a little more plastic, a little more typical with the numbers on the front. The new one looks super refined and just screams money. I love it
i have this card and i totally agree. I preferred the older version. But now it is truly BLACK card, everything is black even the design around the card.
LOL i am not sure if it is that easy. i think the women will say "show me what this card can do" and take you to shopping and make you poor that you can't even afford to pay the annual fees...
I had mine since mid-90s .. canceled it last month. The yearly fee was increased from $2500 a year to $5000... I could afford it but could not justify $400 a month to carry their charge card on me. The service was amazing and it was a great experience. I would have kept it if the increase was more reasonable.

My dad got offered and had one when he was younger… he wasn’t making or spending anything near this amount but work travel was reimbursed so he had large outgoings. He had it for a few years but downgraded to platinum because of the pointless yearly expenses.
I can feel how great it'd feel to hold that card. I started my Credit Card journey like 1 year back. Centurion card has always been my Dream Credit card. It comes with a joining fee of almost 8000$ and annual charges of 3500$ (direct conversion from my currency). I'm slowly climbing to the Credit Card line. Getting hold of the premium cards, and few super-premium cards slowly. Have the road map to get that earning potential to get hold of that Centurion card in next 4 or max 5 years. You have great taste in watches. The BLRO is an exceptional timepiece. The Centurion sounds like a nice card, but for a foodie like myself, I've been digging the Gold card. Amex is definitely a great company to do business with.

The platinum does well for travel. Also you get the lounges. Each card has some unique features. If you get the business one with Gold and Platinum members.
Got my card 4 years ago and I got rid of it last month. Just not worth it and now that I’m 38 I’m out of that “balling out phase”. But let me tell you that card really helped me out with a lot of different connections I made at the lounges At the airport and such. Oddly to say I was using it more to impress other rich people so I can network new ideas. It’s not always about a opening a “Bar Tab” or or showing it off to a girl.
AMEX was pushing me in a friendly way to get the Centurion card. I didn’t want to be bothered with paying the fee and then trying to figure out the points system to get a better bang for my buck. I can usually find a good deal on my own. I loved watching this video but I don’t want the black card.
I actually like the looks of the old one better. However, it's all hypothetical. You are right, it's easy to match the benefits for thousands less and I have better uses for my $15,000.
It’s really designed for people who aren’t worried about the fee and expect service on another level. For sure, that $15k can be used for other things. If you only have $15 or even $100k this isn’t a good card to have at all. You won’t use its benefits anyway for what it was designed to do.

Centurion card is cool but for most people it simply wouldn't be logical to have a card that costs 5k per year, while they might spend that same amount of money on their actual purchasing. For me right now; I'm happy with my Gold Card and it has everything I need. Before that, I used the (sort-of-free) Blue Card to see what it's like to be an AMEX member and test some of the features and benefits. I'd only upgrade to Platinum if I spend enough so that my point earnings will roughly cover the card fee, and it becomes a more or less free solution.
Thank you for your real experience if this exclusive centurion card. I like the new type of this titanium card but I also like old titanium card though has no magnetic tip. I have never seen new design of the card . In the future I hope to be one of the exclusive card holder. ‘Cause this movie inspires me so much. Dreams should always be bigger than I usually think.
Thanks for your watching and positive comments. My first credit card was a Green Dot prepaid master card. The ones where you put $100 in the account. Then Amex Blue, then Gold, then Platinum. Work for it and it will happen and you will feel it.
I'll skip this card. My credit union MasterCard works the same at McDonald's as the Centurion Card. My Big Mac will be prepared the same, so why bother.

In 25 years I’ve only disputed one fraudulent charge and never disputed a merchant for non-performance. How often are you disputing charges that it’s one of the better benefits of the black card?
It really depends on how many changes a person has. If you have a lot of charges, you may have some disputes. Disputes aren’t necessarily frauds but say you paid for something and someone didn’t deliver or paid for designs and they weren’t good and provider refused to refund you. Etc.
One example was I hired an architect firm that turned out to not do anything but the contract was signed with no refunds. The initial payment was $13,500 which was the disputed amount and Amex quickly refunded me after that firm held my money for several months without refund through the chargeback process.
The networking thats the biggest benefit having that card theres no telling what people you'll run into or meet CEOs, Gov politians, celebrities, lawyers, judges, athletes, youtubers, investors etc
I just take my AmEx green card and get a black Sharpie out and color it all up till two completely back it's about the same thing as the AmEx Centurion card
Or what you can do is pay one of those chip and magstripe extraction guys to extract the chip and magstripe off your card and put it on the centurion. Now when the cashier runs it it’ll still say American Express on the receipt and none will be the wiser 😝💪

Interesting when I got my Centurion in the 90’s It was invite only. A black box arrived ( I still have the box) invite inside., the tout was the rumours are true. There was no joining fee, if it had a spend limit I was not aware of it.. Service has varied through the years now there is a very heavy emphasis on building up a relationship with your relationship manager who is like your go to for everything.. that has pluses and minuses as well.
Very cool to hear about the 90s start of the centurion. I believe that is when they first launched and now it has become another level of offering and requirements. Thanks for sharing!

I don’t think they will drop you. My spending has not dropped below the 250k ever but I don’t think it matters. They want you to pay the hefty $5k annual fee. They and every bank cancel your membership at any time. For any reason.
Once approved a few days. However, right now they cannot get boxes for presentation with the card because of the Coronavirus closures and limited production so if you just got approved it may take a bit more time. This is from my account manager.

One thing I've found odd with Amex Platinum and Centurion is no bonus multipliers. The Gold gets 4x on Dining for example.
The platinum does well for travel. Also you get the lounges. Each card has some unique features. If you get the business one with Gold and Platinum members.

For the AMEX Platinum in Asia (Singapore) I needed to show an annual income of 83.000 USD and annual fee 1.100 USD for 1+4 cards with the same perks.

I actually like the looks of the old one better. However, it's all hypothetical. You are right, it's easy to match the benefits for thousands less and I have better uses for my $15,000.
It’s really designed for people who aren’t worried about the fee and expect service on another level. For sure, that $15k can be used for other things. If you only have $15 or even $100k this isn’t a good card to have at all. You won’t use its benefits anyway for what it was designed to do.
Everyone: "You can't apply for the Amex Black Card. They contact YOU."

Centurion card is cool but for most people it simply wouldn't be logical to have a card that costs 5k per year, while they might spend that same amount of money on their actual purchasing. For me right now; I'm happy with my Gold Card and it has everything I need. Before that, I used the (sort-of-free) Blue Card to see what it's like to be an AMEX member and test some of the features and benefits. I'd only upgrade to Platinum if I spend enough so that my point earnings will roughly cover the card fee, and it becomes a more or less free solution.
It is a credit card for the wealthiest. They are not concerned about the fee.
Thank you for your real experience if this exclusive centurion card. I like the new type of this titanium card but I also like old titanium card though has no magnetic tip. I have never seen new design of the card . In the future I hope to be one of the exclusive card holder. ‘Cause this movie inspires me so much. Dreams should always be bigger than I usually think.

Thanks for your watching and positive comments. My first credit card was a Green Dot prepaid master card. The ones where you put $100 in the account. Then Amex Blue, then Gold, then Platinum. Work for it and it will happen and you will feel it.
I'll skip this card. My credit union MasterCard works the same at McDonald's as the Centurion Card. My Big Mac will be prepared the same, so why bother.

As a regular middle class person I love my Discover card. No initiation fee and no annual fee.
Discover is the best credit card company by far. It's not even close.
just one question, does the amex app on your phone also have a black background or is it the same amex app that we all use?
I don’t use the Amex app, but the card shows up in my Apple Pay as a black background. It’s the same app though.

In 25 years I’ve only disputed one fraudulent charge and never disputed a merchant for non-performance. How often are you disputing charges that it’s one of the better benefits of the black card?
It really depends on how many changes a person has. If you have a lot of charges, you may have some disputes. Disputes aren’t necessarily frauds but say you paid for something and someone didn’t deliver or paid for designs and they weren’t good and provider refused to refund you. Etc.
One example was I hired an architect firm that turned out to not do anything but the contract was signed with no refunds. The initial payment was $13,500 which was the disputed amount and Amex quickly refunded me after that firm held my money for several months without refund through the chargeback process.
The networking thats the biggest benefit having that card theres no telling what people you'll run into or meet CEOs, Gov politians, celebrities, lawyers, judges, athletes, youtubers, investors etc
I just take my AmEx green card and get a black Sharpie out and color it all up till two completely back it's about the same thing as the AmEx Centurion card
That’s one way to get one. 😂
Or what you can do is pay one of those chip and magstripe extraction guys to extract the chip and magstripe off your card and put it on the centurion.
Now when the cashier runs it it’ll still say American Express on the receipt and none will be the wiser 😝💪
@@TransitAndTeslas I think they actually do that on Ebay or some website. I never been a fan of fake and would just stick with the Amex Platinum instead.

Interesting when I got my Centurion in the 90’s It was invite only. A black box arrived ( I still have the box) invite inside., the tout was the rumours are true. There was no joining fee, if it had a spend limit I was not aware of it.. Service has varied through the years now there is a very heavy emphasis on building up a relationship with your relationship manager who is like your go to for everything.. that has pluses and minuses as well.
Very cool to hear about the 90s start of the centurion. I believe that is when they first launched and now it has become another level of offering and requirements. Thanks for sharing!

I still have the card. Worth it if you can afford it.
which design do you prefer? i prefer the previous one as it looks a lot more prestigious. it has that wow factor whereas the new one just looks like a cool credit card.
I like both designs. The new design has a modern feel to it but I miss the weight of the older style. It was more hefty and felt great in hand.
My best black card story is the fact that my father has one.

Hi Simon Katz, this is the by far the best video I’ve seen on Black Card. Quick question: if I was to get Billy MacFarland’s scammy Magnises black card, would that be the same thing as a black card? I know his company is defunct and he’s in jail but he claims that Magnises is the black card for millennials that can’t afford the real black card. I plan on using it to buy some Fyre Festival tickets. Would this be a good idea? Please help. Thanks.
I think there is only one true black card. It’s the Amex.
So if you get the Centerion card but your spending level drops below a certain threshold will Amex drop you from the Centerion card?
I don’t think they will drop you. My spending has not dropped below the 250k ever but I don’t think it matters. They want you to pay the hefty $5k annual fee. They and every bank cancel your membership at any time. For any reason.

Once approved a few days. However, right now they cannot get boxes for presentation with the card because of the Coronavirus closures and limited production so if you just got approved it may take a bit more time. This is from my account manager.

I wonder which credit card is more prestigious: The AmEx Black Card or the Carte Blanche Card. Believe it or not, there’s still some countries that offer the Carte Blanche card as an invitation only card.
I get pre-approvals for the VISA BLACK CARD @$500 fee........guess what? I say NO THANKS!! $15k ......I hope your money back in services and/or perks! smh $15K really? no!!!!
Visa Black card is now a master card. The offerings in service are worlds apart however. I had both.
Do you have to go through a credit check or have a good credit if you pre-qualify for one? Or is it a “human being” who will decide if you are approved or not regardless of your credit score!
