I've become a bit obsessed with the FZ-2 and various clones over the last few years. Not surprisingly, I got into Electric Wizard and the obsession began. I have an original FZ-2, a Boerhinger SF3000, a FuzzLord Effects FU-2, and a GUP Tech Foazz. I'll likely get others in the future. It's a great and infectious effects pedal. If you love doom, it's a must have. It's also a great, clean volume booster and the phase 1 is a more traditional fuzz. The video does a great job describing it. Highly recommended fuzz pedal. My absolute favorite fuzz, at this point.
John, your presentations and playing are top-tier, and so welcoming to viewers. I've been watching your videos for a while, but just subscribed. You are doing good work.
I always liked premier guitar magazine back when they still had bookstores and in the RUclips years as well but when it's Bolinger its the best of what they put out, good times guaranteed, cool digs btw
Finally, Boss added to it's roster of classics.Got the BD, the OD's, the DD's, the Trem, - and now a fuzz. They have a few other very good modulations, but to my mind, these will remain the irrefutable circuits. While the Bender clone was a gimmick for the collectors and investors,( and a pedal, IMO, easily and cheaply bested by a hundred other clones, older and recent), Boss needed a unique contribution to Fuzz market. The volume clean up is the ringer, meaning that you can get an almost endless range of sounds, depending on pickups and amp.
@@PendelSteven In 1961, Grady Martin scored a hit with a fuzzy tone caused by a faulty preamplifier that distorted his guitar playing on the Marty Robbins song "Don't Worry". ... Martin is generally credited as the discoverer of the "fuzz effect."... So erm....
@@ericjames8816 I’ve heard the same but it was distortion not fuzz he was credited with. If you listen to the song it definitely sounds more like fuzz than distortion but that’s how I heard the story. 🤷♂️
Good playing as usual man but, meh on the pedal. There are much better fuzz pedals out there (subjective, I’m sure it’s someone’s “tone”) for the same or less scratch. I’ll probably get one because it’s 2 things I love, pedals and fuzz.
When it comes to Drive and Fuzz tones, I think the majority of guitarists either haven't put enough effort into arriving at something personal( are content with what they're told sounds good), or are just barking up the wrong tree .I was actually surprised at how good this pedal is, as IMO, even the recent Bender is totally meh. Lot of expensive forgettable Fuzzes out there now, even by builders like Benson who should know better. Can't count on the name or the price tag to assure best results.
All of y’all talking about the sound of this fuzz… blah blah blah… just remember this… jimmy would have made this fuzz sound other world… sit down play the guitar …
John, I have seen all of the rig rundowns and you are a really nice guy, you have a great rapport with the bands, but please! Stop with the demos! Its not your thing!

Boss Waza Craft make really nice pedals. I have a DM-2W delay that I absolutely love.
Thank you, John!
FZ-2W next? pls
You can finally get that "Spirit in the Sky" fuzz tone with this pedal. Not my thing, but pretty cool if you're a fuzzaholic.
This is the best demo of this pedal by a real player.

Great demo. Reminiscent of Keef's early tone.
This is bad ass. I wanna get one and combine it with my boss blues driver bd-2 and see what kinda sounds I could get....
I’m worried that top hat is going to catch on fire.

Speaker ripped fuzz sounds. sounds great driven
Just added to my WANT list: baritone.

That’s too fuzzy for me. Enjoy your vids. Stay safe. 🎸🎸🎸
Not a fan of fuzz pedals, but I am a fan of Johnny B. Keep up the good work brother!
Great demo !
Cheers from Canada John!🇨🇦
Great demo, I'm ordering one
...should you need that full on fugly tone...it has it!
Good stuff John ✊🏼
How about a show on hearing protection for guitar players with the amp turned up high. Tacitus Bond
how does john fold his legs like that?
Looks like it is just his right leg over his left one.
Like anyone else would… one leg over the other…
Nay ! I couldn't do that to my Blues Jr.
I can personally vouche for even the non Waza craft version. I have many fuzz pedals and it's still my go to
There isn’t a non Waza version of this pedal. It’s brand new. This is not an FZ-2/3/5 or TB-2W.
magic
Excellent ☮️
Fuzz pedals always sound like a blown speaker to me.
I think that's what they're modelle after iniatially, so erm....

is your Strat a Fender Japan relic?
Legit!
Would have been helpful if we could see the control settings
Is this what the TC Rusty Fuzz is?
whats up with that strat headstock ??
Ace Ventura forever
I rather like it!
2nd comment Podium! Oh wait a beat-up sunburst stratocaster through a raggedy fuzz box!!!!
In my opinion this kind of fuzz has too muddy sound on Fender amp. Using Marshall type amp for more usable sound.
Into a clean fender amp? Huh? Adjust the tone controls… don’t be a clown…
Great demo but nothing too ground breaking about yet another si fuzz. 😒
sounds ah bit fuzzy
Uh oh. John is doing the Illuminati “cover your left eye” thing now? There goes the neighborhood!
I wonder if it can handle Pedal Steel pickups?

@@richieknight5423 That’s why I said it’s subjective. Whatever “better” means for you.
That's not a Deluxe Reverb!
Bet this pedal sounds 100% better on a non Fender amp... Fuzzes sound horrid on most Fenders and I love Fuzz and dig Fender amps.
All of y’all talking about the sound of this fuzz… blah blah blah… just remember this… jimmy would have made this fuzz sound other world… sit down play the guitar …
Nah, that sounds horrible
Cool pedal. But must we endure more boring Blooze Dad riffage?
Man,I can't stand fuzz pedals
I was going to buy this, but not after this video. Sorry, it sounds horrible. Not your fault, but definitely not worth $200!
Can you even play anything decent without switching everything every 5 seconds?
Some simple big chords would have been better to demo the pedal. Weird pseudo country licks don’t really work for this.👎👎
For you.
John, I have seen all of the rig rundowns and you are a really nice guy, you have a great rapport with the bands, but please! Stop with the demos! Its not your thing!
The worst fuzz demo ever ! Horrible !
