- This is the art wall production and installation process of Chilgok National Forest Gymnasium in Korea.
It is a bulky work that contains a total of 40 birch plywoods.
It came out almost similar to the sketch, so I finished it pleasantly.
The manufacturing process was harder and more difficult than installation, and above all, the loading process was more difficult than expected because it was bulky.
It seems to have the charm of a parametric design that can create a formative and special atmosphere on the plain wall.
Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to those who helped with the production and installation.

Only change I would make is to use full plywood sheet instead of the horizontal battens. That way they don’t disrupt the view from a head on angle.

This is a matter that has been fully negotiated with the client.
That approach has been considered, but there are other reasons for not doing so.
Exactly, I just said the exact thing. The battens kind of spoil it a bit. But it is beautiful
I thought it also spoiled it, but i imagine it is good to have for structural integrity due to its height; however, a slightly curved batten wouldnt cast a shadow as the existing one does so could be nicer on the eye.
Or paint the wall and battens black so they're invisible and up the contrast of the wall it self

The middle horizontal bar turns something that would be 100% awesome into 95%
With everything looking like a new installation why not replace the offending middle brace by screwing in from the other side of the wall. It would make it harder to remove later but if they can afford to install it they should be able to afford ripping out the wall later.
Yes. Also, the feeling that it is installed in what could be a basement rec room brings it down. Somehow for me that beautiful woodwork does not relate at all to the setting.

The way you spaced the vertical battens with a spacer block is simple but very effective. Gorgeous work and great video, just subscribed!
That's right. I thought it was the only way not to hurt the whole atmosphere while being simple.
I paid a lot of attention to the structure, but thank you for recognizing it.
Next time you do one of these, perhaps a thicker ply panel for the backing strips and then cut channels for each of your panels to slot into. Would eliminate the need for a spacer then
Great idea but unlike MDF, plywood thicknesses can be inconsistent depending on the manufacturer. I've seen up to +/- 0.5mm which could lead to channels that are either too tight (a nightmare to fix) or too loose (visible gap). In addition a lot more milling on the CNC and the larger back panel would add material and paint labor cost. I feel the approach Handwerker took in this video is very effective! @@w2ttsy670

I don't like the look of the horizontal bar/plank. However, I don't know what techniques (not a wood worker) could replace it. Without it, I assume, there would be warping.
Perhaps a full length vertical plank would look better?
That's the only nitpick. Good job on this!
The horizontal support is disastrous for a job of this scale. A bad decision to make such a minimal structure. The scale of the work would have deserved a more professional finish and decisions. Unfortunately, this is what happens when the customer limits the budget and the manufacturers want to show off. But the result is a lack of consistency. A lack of maturity! But the effect is extraordinary.

@@handwerker_kor "Handwerker" is commonly understood by every german speaker (even by children). The specialisation would be Tischler (literaly someone who makes tables) who makes doors, windows, wall or ceiling panels.
I'm not a Handwerker. Only interested as a hobbyist.

I think that it can be more than just a wall with a wavy surface. This can be some sort of a book shelf or a place to hang out things. This can generalized to modular furniture. These installations may have actual function.
Yeah, that's a good idea. But we ran a project that was built and designed to meet the client's needs.
@@handwerker_kor True, there is a program specified by the one who provides the money. That's what architecture is about, service. At the same time we can persuade our clients suggesting more ideas on the same object they want. Yes everything costs but the best reward is the satisfaction of all the users that will interact with it. We build for those people too, for their dreams, hopes and possibilities.

стена покрасили бы в серый и крепежные палки в серый, и тогда бы их не так было бы видно, чем на белой стене. Тень падает на горизонтальный элемент и его видно. А так круто получилось!)
Красиво, работа титаническая. Звукопоглощающая стена. Единственный минус это пыль между панелями.

Good luck dusting it and keeping it clean. Maybe some spot lights or LED lights behind it will be good.
After we installed it, we probably installed spots and lights on the ceiling.

Beautiful! I had to laugh at the installation though.... The whole time I was watching I was saying to myself "That ceiling had better be perfectly level.." You might have cut that a LITTLE close? (Always remember, no-one can see a small gap at the top!)
made it 10mm smaller than it actual measurement.
Measure twice, install once.
All that work and effort and you leave it in bare wood. A decent lacquer in that would have taken it to a whole new level

I am trying to make the same Parametric Wall feature to offer my commercial customers but i am having difficulty with it, I have tried to draw it on Sketchup but it came out with facets, none of the curves are smooth, what software do you use and does it splice and lay flat your components. I no longer use Sketchup I currently use Alphacam Thank you

고정용 바 형태의 몰딩이 너무 잘 보이네요.
뒷면을 바 형태의 몰딩이 아닌 전체를 판넬로 막았으면 더 좋았을 것 같네요.

설계과정에서 충분히 협의가 된 사항입니다. 뒷판을 막는게 원래 모델인데, 여러 상황과 조건 때문에 보조목을 활용하기로 한 것입니다. 그런 세부사항을 다 나열할수 없기 때문에 저도 무척 답답합니다.
