The difference is that the XT60 plug limits the D/C input to 8amps, while the XT60i plug limits D/C input to 15amps. The third pin is like a jumper wire for the Delta circuit board. At 12 volts, the XT60 will only allow up to 96 watts of D/C input (saving the 10-amp fuse to the cigarette lighter plug), while the XT60i will allow up to 180 watts of D/C input or 360 watts at 24 volts. 🤠
