They don't understand that dogs go through traumatic experiences like humans and can act out. So they don't treat the animal as an animal. So the dog doesn't get what is really needed to make them balanced. Those are usually the ppl that have said Cesar is abusive.

My dogs are PERFECT.. and my connection with them is amazing.. they are around 60 to 70 kg’s Aand a power breed and when they go nuts with someone at the gate RAMMING IT TO GET TO THE PERSON.. they immediately stop when I go outside and come to me.. and I don’t say a word.. but they KNOW I AM THE BOSS.. and mum will handle the intruder.. and they take their signals from how I behave.. it’s amazing.. but I don’t understand why people are so crappy with dogs when they know about Cesar and can learn from him BEFORE they get a dog.. Some people expect them to be like dogs, they aren't small dogs. If you want a dog then get a dog instead of bashing cats. Although I've seen right here on RUclips many videos of cat converts, people who were dog lovers and didn't care for cats, then happened to get a cat for whatever reason and fell head over heels in love when they realized how cool cats are.

    This was so helpful! My puppy just went to the vet to get fixed. He was totally traumatized and tried to bite the vet tech. They told me he would always be agressive and fearful going forward and that it would only get worse the older he got. I just don't believe that! I started working on all the things about separation anxiety and being over excited. Already seeing huge improvement and the rottweiler really gave me hope. The hardest part is he was there two nights and a day. I have no idea what happened but they suspected sensory overload. My goal is to go back there with him and walk him through in a calm manner with no anxiety from me or him!lol Thank you so much!!

    • @QueenOfScorpions
      @QueenOfScorpions Год назад +21

      It actually doesn't help your dog to wonder about what happened at the vets. Your dog is in the present, and if you don't stay there too, then you will continue to pass on tension and anxiety to your dog. Lead with calm confidence in the situation and your dog. Block your mind from thinking about things that have already passed, and walk your dog through the vets, feeling empowered that you are the pack leader. The vets are entirely wrong about your dog continuing any aggressive, anxious behaviour. It's not a given.
      Cesar's methods are sound, and you can do it! ❤

      If you buy that story. The family slipped up and said they had never taken off the muzzle before when the dog meets new people. Sounds like they've always muzzled him with new situations, at least since they panicked after he "lounged" at kids playing. I'm going to take a guess that they over reacted (because scared their big dog might hurt kids coming over) and treated the dog differently from that point on. The more they pulled him back, left him behind for walks, muzzled him, etc., The more aggression really came out.
      Rottweilers like to herd children and that's probably all it was. The dog was likely trying to push them into a group. Not okay, but I feel they handled it wrong and it's going to happen with the puppy before they know it too, because rottweilers will do that if you don't train them not to. Rottweilers are a stubborn breed that need to be trained. They let the dog get big, learn bad habits, then isolated him when they panicked, blaming a break in, when it's unlikely burglars went outside to confront dogs they didn't have to. Maybe the truth is even that the older dog was scared, but I don't believe them that the Rottweiler got like that out of no where. The only thing they noticed was that he stepped back from them and that was that. People like to project human issues onto their dogs. That's what happened here -- between the break in and kids getting lounged at, they got anxiety with him, because they never trained him. Just yay puppy, until he got big and "scary". Maybe it's just because I know rottweilers well, but they don't give a good reason for him being bad except a wild theory.
      I just keep going back to them saying they've never not had a muzzle on that dog. Not after the break in -- but ever.

    I Love Caesar Millan. I have a 55 kg Bullmastiff- I'm 64 & 47kg so I had to become a leader. My Bullmastiff is a very easy laid back dog that is so loved by everyone. She is quite unique in that when dogs show aggression towards her, she stands there waiting for them to get over it. The other dog calms down feeling safe. However, my Bullmastiff has been attacked and I had to get into training mode teaching her to feel safe again. I watched Caesars videos to help me. I also took her away from the area that she was attacked to a place where the dogs were friendly then took her back to the place she was attacked. Today she is perfect again. Thank you Caesar. The one thing I will add is my dog never had training as a puppy. I don't make her sit but when I need her to she just does it. She's never been in a crate. She wears a harness not a collar. We're around tons of dogs everyday. Thanks to Caesar I believe in using my energy.

      Many people smile when they're nervous or self-conscious. They clearly care; they're not giving up on any of their 5 pets - many people would just have taken the pit/husky to the shelter where he'd have a listing as "reactive" and his fate would be uncertain.

He is an Einstein of dog behavior. Deeply grateful to have him here with us today. I have learned a lot from him on dog training or training myself to be what the dog needs. Think of the rest of human potential around the world who could be great if they had a chance.

    I just love rotties. My bosses 20 years ago bought two. But they were always on the road travelling. So they appointed me to look after them. I cared for them since they were wee lil pups. They'd wait outside the bathroom door for me, they'd wait outside my bedroom. They'd look up at me when we went for walks. We had a beautiful bond. My bosses did one thing right. He took them to obedience classes. He then gave me the run down. They had good recall. Once I was walking them in the bush on one of our many adventures and Spuds( the male) found a dead bird and picked it up. He his it from me. Then I noticed and I told him to drop it. Right away he dropped it. No problem. He was protective of me. I'd sit on a bench and people would say hello and he's growl at them. I'd tell him no and he obeyed. Another time I was walking them both on this frozen lake and they were unleashed. I suddenly heard a couple of wolves howling. They stood with their head tilted and ears up. Then they began running towards the wolves that were in the bush somewhere. Right away I called them. They stopped and looked at me. I said come here. Then they came running back right away. I was so proud of them. I always called them my puppies because they were still babies to me even though Moo the female was 100 lbs and Spuds was 120 lbs. Theyd jump up and down when they'd see me. With their lil nubs of a tail wiggling and their bums couldn't sit still. They'd ever so gently put their paws on my shoulders and give me smooches. I loved them ever so much. ❤️🌈😊 Here's to Spuds n Moo.

    Why can't Caesar teach people, you can't pick a puppy coz it's cute. There's a right dog for your lifestyle. I read The Art of Raising a Puppy. Picked my JRT pup out of 2 litters of 18. We found each other after 2 years and many 100s of miles. For 17and half years, I had the best most faithful, loyal, trustworthy, loving companion of my entire life....because of what the book taught me!

      Because not everyone wants to abuse their dog. For a dog who is pulling a harness is good. These dogs are reactive. They are mainly insecure and want to protect themselves. They are strong enough to just knock the human over. But they don't. So they do not put all there is into it. If you love your dog, don't harm it
