OneTigris Obsidian Sleeping Pad - Warm, Comfortable, Affordable!

- This video is a review of the OneTigris Obsidian sleeping pad. This is an insulated sleeping pad with a 5.2 claimed R-rating. I have found this sleeping mat to be very comfortable -- even for side sleepers. I have also found it to be very warm, but haven't tried it yet in temperatures under 55 degrees. Regardless, I do feel my body heat being reflected back to me. The key with this pad is to make sure that it is 100% fully inflated. Anything less and the pad becomes very loud and crinkly, and the reflective layers inside will not work as intended since you'll be crushing the insulation. Also, side sleeping will not be possible if the pad is not fully inflated.
This video is a respectful disagreement with Luke from The Outdoor Gear Review ( • The Best Budget Air Ma... . He has a fantastic channel, and I always look to him before purchasing anything in the camping world. Based on the comments on his review of this product, I have a feeling that his was defective or not fully inflated, as the user base (including me) seems to overwhelmingly like this pad. I'm not doubting his experience and convictions about his pad, I'm just wondering if it was defective and perhaps he'd have better luck with another one.

He has been using the Flextail Zero pump a lot lately. If he's been using that alone and not using the inflation bag to top the pad off with air, then I can certainly understand why he's been disappointed since it only gets it 85-90% full. However, the disappointment should be in the pump and not the pad. I hope you end up liking yours! Let me know how it goes!
My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
My observations were the same as yours. Slept 2 nights on it and I'm a big dude, also a side sleeper. I did not touch the ground at all. Will be interested to see how it holds up this fall when the weather is colder but its been great for me. I was suspecting Luke didn't have it fully inflated as well, and noticed he has been using the Flextail Zero in some of his recent videos. I use the Flextail 2x and that seems to get it to 100% but I still do 1-2 bags of air like you. Thanks for the video!
The flextail is great for doing 85% of the work, but it certainly cannot fully inflate anything larger than an inflatable pillow from my testing. Glad I'm not alone with my positive experience with this pad. Crossing my fingers that it will be warm once fall gets here. I'm excited to try it out. Thanks for the comment! 🍻
Thank you for this review I just bought two of them on Amazon prime day for just $60 each! I have a flextail zero as well good to know that I’ll need to bring the inflation bag along.
It's unfortunate that we need to carry them both, but on the bright side the pump takes up virtually no space and does 85-90% of the work for you in about 75 seconds. 1-2 inflates with the bag isn't too bad.
I pray mine preforms like yours I just ordered it and it’s been delivered to my brothers house I have my sis in law to do my orders. So I got to go pick it up I’m a motorcycle rider and going to use it on a cot so I’m hoping it is comfortable!
