  • The robins were trying to intimidate the blue jay! Meanwhile, the pileated woodpecker is just enjoying a bath and some grooming in the background. Later in the videos, the robins are having some conversation! Kalamazoo, Michigan. Please feel free to subscribe if you enjoy my bird videos! Thanks! #birds #birdwatching #nature #wildlife

Wonderful to watch. The robins got a lot wetter than the other birds. I wonder if it's a property of their feathers. It also looked like they timed / coordinated their baths to minimize the time they'd be at their most vulnerable. Nature is astonishing.

It's interesting that sometimes other birds will also look more soaked after a bath, even the blue jays at times! Nature is pretty amazing!

We are lucky to have at least 4 of them visiting regularly! I think we now have 2 pairs!

Birds are in the top 10 reasons why I have not lost my mind, but am going into debit spending $60.00 a week on birdseed. I got up one morning in March, looked out my second story window and there was a Pileated standing on top of a telephone pole doing some kind of crazy dance, about 20 feet from me. And then I looked down into my yard and there was another one doing the same crazy dance. This is in the UP so Pileated are common.... But generally are not this public.

I too spend a ridiculous amount on bird food, but it's one of my favorite things to do! It's harder now because the price of it has gone up so much, but I still do it to keep my heart happy! I feel like I am paying them with food to keep showing up and give me the joy to look forward to each day! We are fortunate to have quite a few Pileated Woodpeckers in this area of lower Michigan. The SW corner has a lot of wooded area!

@@thebirdperch_MI I read one time that birds spent 80% of their time looking for food, I said, "not in my backyard"!
