I've played other video games about rocket launches and more, but I've never seen anything like this before. I love the idea of being the first on the server to get to Mars and establish a colony. Hi GrishordGames! Good question. The end goal of the game is to be the first to establish a self-sustainable colony on Mars. That means: 25,000 people and no resources needed from Earth. Once the first player or Holding achieves that, that game server is done. Servers will be launched at a steady pace for players to replay! So, you will be able to play more than one server at the same time if you want.
So basically once someone wins on that server, it's over? Does it get shut down? Are other people allowed to finish as well? Do you have (even a rough) estimate of how long completion time will be start to finish?
Hey Again! Actually yes, It's over for that server. Like a Civilization game it will give you a Score based on technologies, money, reputation, % of Space Station, Moon and Mars bases built, etc. We have in mind an option for players to "keep playing alone" once the server has a winner, but we plan to delve into it based on feedback from the community. Regarding the total life time of a server, we have a rough estimate between 2 to 3 months, but may vary to one side or the other depending on the results of testing phases and also feedback from the community. We are also considering, maybe for an expansion, a 1vs1 or 5vs5 ladder "Rush Mode" or "Tournament Mode" with matches of ~45 minutes.
