Thank you for sharing this video...I've had a k40 for years. I've had to get a new tube and fix the gantry... I couldn't get it to line up .. After watching this, I followed your steps, and it worked a treat.... So thank you
When you move it up it will be moving the position of both dots. The closer position will be some small fraction of the further position. So you really need to overshoot the first dot.
It looks like you have Molybdenum mirrors. A tad less efficient but very durable and safe to clean with alcohol or acetone. You can check to see if they are Moly (a refractory metal) by setting your ohmeter and check for conductivity. If Moly, keep them!
You are one brave dude.... Those laser power supply put out some 20,000v DC and to hook up a 600v meter... But I guess it didn't fry it, so you good... Just a warning.. There is plenty of power on that tube to kill you several times over....
The high voltage circuit in these devices is 16+KV. You are risking your life attempting to measure this with a multimeter. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not only that, he had a direct short from the laser tube to ground through the meter when he was trying to measure amperage. On a good day you'll just blow the fuse in the meter. On a bad day you'll blow the meter up in your hand. NEVER measure current across a circuit, always inline with a circuit. If you don't know what that means, don't measure current with your probes. Put the clamp over the HV wire from the power supply to the laser tube.
@@Sembazuru I'm a little late, but I'll write it anyway. He did not measure the current, because clamp meters do not measure through the wire. just with the clamp. maybe there are some, but i don't think. That DMM can be quite good if it can withstand +16kV.😱
Dont go by this guy he has no idea what he is doing a d like others have said that high voltage lead has 16 to 18 thousand volts when the laser fires might hurt a lot leave it alone

Gald it helped. That was what I was going for. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for sharing the journey in working with this machine.
It is a fun project. I hope to get it running more reliability. Thanks for watching.
Awesome thank you for your video
Thanks for watching 👍🤛

Thanks for the info. 🙏
Nope they have to right on top of each other near and far positions on ALL three mirrors

Good idea. I’ll look into it. Thanks for watching. 👍🤛
The pink is gold plating to aid in recombination of CO2.
Good to know. Thanks for watching.

.
Instead of washers on the second mirror you need to raise the front of your tube just a hair.
Good idea. I try it when I get new mirrors

Very true.

the red board needs a dongle to work with moshidraw soft. anything that has the name Moshi is CRAP.
True. That is why I updated the board in a later video. Thanks for watching.
Concave down

Good point
nothing like using 40 words where 10 will do.
!
Dirty from burning tape its a mirror not a lens do you really know what your. Doing
possible. Yes.
Sorry, lost the will to live at around 1 minute 10 seconds, little interest in the circle of friends.
I hope you can join my circle.?
