The Waken version is technically even more impressive, but in this version the crowd is more passionate - I love how they sing along with the guitar solo. Both versions are well worth seeing.

Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [The 1st Bassist of the band was Sami Vanska, he was with them until 2001. The 2nd one was Marco Hietala, as Bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. Then very recently (May 2021) Jukka Koskinen became the 3nd Bassist of the band, for at least the Human :II: Nature tour] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. Well... If you don´t listen to the wacken one buenes aires is probobly at least the second best. But i would certanly agree to there being space to dissagree. But this is certanly the two master part. The 2015 London one is in my opinion slightly worse.... not much so... but a bit.

The reason the Wacken version is considered better is because at this performance Floor had only been with the band for 2 months having joined the band mid way thru the US leg of their World Tour. By Wacken she had been with the band for 10 months and was much more confident and the song had evolved even further. Stay safe 🤘✌
To be fair, she'd been with them since October 2012 (this was August 2013) and this was her 45th concert as unofficial lead singer for the band, though that's still not a long time considering how Tuomas re-worked some of the songs around her. (I *think* she'd been asked to join full-time by this show, but not positive. Certainly hadn't been announced as such.)
Floor Jansen is the third and present singer of Nightwish and widely considered the best and most versatile female singer of our time as you will experience when diving deeper into this rabbit hole. As I am a Flooraholic from Utrecht, The Netherlands, here is some more background information on our 1.83m tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen. She joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. My favourite song is 'Energize Me'. They made a very beautiful music video out of this. Floor attended the then new Rock Academy in 1999 and graduated in 2003. Later she did a year Conservatory to learn some more classical singing. 'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song, such as from full operatic to serious growls in seconds. The songs 'Disdain' and 'Wild Card' are good examples. During this time Floor also did vocal coaching and as Floor is a perfectionist she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the American Tour as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour ('Please learn the setlist in 48 hours'). The lyrics of the songs of Nightwish are very poetic and the music as a whole is challenging, but Floor pulled it off and she stayed for the whole world tour, culminating in the iconic Wacken 2013 Open Air festival. It was obvious that the match Nightwish and Floor Jansen was made in Walhalla, so she became a permanent member of the band in 2013 as the relationship with Annette and the band was strained even before she became ill. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp' for a couple of years, but it became clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so Revamp disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died' is a must see. Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on RUclips. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe, watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa'. And to see her in full opera mode watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered RUclips in the last year and uploaded many interesting videos on her channel. Floor Jansen is a vocal athlete with incredible range , versatility, vocal stamina, and stage presence. She is a soprano with a range of more than three octaves (D3 to F6). It is apparent when listening to her sing that she has spent the better part of her life fine-tuning her instrument with help from several vocal coaches. Floor can sing in multiple languages and genres and is a vocal coach herself. It is incredible how she is able to take any song and make it her own. This woman is a true gift to her craft and an incredible addition to a band that has always been great until 2013 when they officially hired the undisputed Queen of Metal Floor Jansen, making Nightwish the greatest band on the planet. I LOVE it when reactors recognize that Emppu's simple, melodic solo is EXACTLY what this song needs, not some hot, shredding riff. Emppu does that when the time is right!
So true. That's why I like David Gilmour's solo in "Comfortably Numb" so much, it just has the perfect flow for the song. He can certainly be fancy when he wants to but only does it when he needs to. That's the difference between a musician and an artist.

I like the choir track being easier to hear in BA and the crowd reaction, also the way the camera is just caressing Floor who is sheer beauty here as she truly nails the "Floor ending" for the first time in performance. Of course I have now only heard this 300 times and Wacken 800 times so...to be fair I will have to hear both 1000 times each to decide!

The interesting fact she just joined a band at that time. In their first show together, she was said "You have 48 hours to learn a set list". Arranged the instruments, the classical bits and got everything working. And then they play this live. Without auto tune or playback. Just pure talent and a vision. I fuckin' love metal. All metal. I recommended a different version of this song (the Wacken 2013 version is even more impressive), but this one is good too. Floor can sing with an operatic approach, pop, rock and even grunting. I know this is a comment for an old review but it amazes me when I see you guys say that you hear three or four different songs in this one score but you don't relate it to a musical score. The name of the song is Ghost love score which is like a musical score to a soundtrack for some theatrical or cinematic thing. Floor does an amazing job of changing her voice to match those different moods or feelings or sounds. It sucks that Marco has left the band now. Toumas Really is the metal Mozart. This is one of Floor Jansen's earliest performances with Nightwish. Only in band for 2 months. Replaced previous singer mid tour who couldn't perform this as by first singer. Floor (their third singer) made this and so many other songs her own. A much better version of this,in fact the whole concert, is at Wacken 2013 after 10 months with Nightwish.
And again a soul is taken by our Dutch Valkyrie Goddes of Metal, she even sings from the gamecube game Final Fantasy Chronicals, Sound of the Wind and O Mio Babbino Caro..She sings on some projects of Ayreon, The valley of the queens is a good start to see.
The Wacken 2013 (Germany) version of this song is the Gold Standard for this. This one is good too. You can't go wrong with any song from Wacken 2013. Probably the best concert of all time for this genre. Wacken 2013 is the GOLD STANDARD for most any NW songs recorded prior to 2012 and featuring Floor Jansen. Studio quality sound. Epic showmanship. Floor joined the band in 2012 and propelled it into the stratosphere. This Wacken concert proved it. (She was the groups 3rd vocalist and joined when the previous singer got sick in the middle of the tour.) Floor got the request and had to fly from the Netherlands to the U.S. and had 48 hours to learn a dozen NW songs to perform in the next show. Many newer NW songs (those written specifically Floor) can be found in the Tampere, Finland 2015 concert and the 2015 Wembley concert. Nightwish is different than most other metal. Songs are epic, heroic and up lifting. More like cinematic scores from GOT or Lord of the Rings. No screaming, or satanic roaring. Everybody in the band is part of a happy family. All smiles and comradeship. Floor can roar but she rarely does it. She can actually sing. Why roar when you have the voice of an angel. It would be like using your Ferrari to haul gravel.

Great reaction! Two requests for you. The first is Floor Jansen and Henk Poort singing 'Phantom of the Opera' which is phenomenal. The other is Wintersun singing 'Sons of Winter and Stars.' They are a Finnish heavy metal band and the lead singer had about a quarter of one lung removed for TB contracted in the military, but it doesn't slow him down. She walked onto the stage with Nightwish for the first time on October 1st 2012 in Seattle, Washington. She only had 48 hours to learn the setlist since the previous singer, Anette Olzon, was fired after the September 29th performance. The keyboard player, Tuomas Holopainen, is the founder of the band and writes 95% of all songs. He also has a close connection with Pip Williams who conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Metro Voices and the Children's Choir. Floor had only been with the band for two months at this point. So the vast majority of the crowd had already bought tickets expecting the previous singer. By the end of this song (not the opener) the crowd was chanting her name. After she is finished singing and turns around to the drummer, when she turns back to the crowd she has tears in her eyes. Also Floor gives you those feelings song after song. I will enjoy following you on this journey.

I've been fortunate to have seen Nightwish/Floor Jansen live....when Floor walks out at 6'2" in her black leather outfit her presence just dominates the stage. One of the best concerts I've ever been too and I'm old enough that I've been to Carpenter concerts! (LOL look it up)
Watch a dutch tv show Beste Zangers 2019 (Best singers) On the show thetr are dutch singers from different styles of music will sing for eachother. It's not a competition. They do it just for fun. Floor is world famous but in our country the Netherlands she wasn't that famous. After the show people in the Netherlands know her now very well. It's a good show. Listen to Floor Jansen singing "Phantom of the Opera" together with another great dutch artist Henk Poort. Henk was the first Phantom of the Netherlands in the 90s. He was one of Andrew L. Webber favorite Phantoms. Floor did a couple of songs on this show. Listen also the cover she did of "shallow" on this show or the song "Winner". This song was from the artist also on this show who she sings it for. They all sing songs from eachother in their own style or covers from other artist around the world..
As others have said, you should definitely watch the Wakken 2013 Live version of this. Not that this performance was bad, but the 2013 Wakken Festival performance, the entire band was just firing on all cylinders PERFECTLY and if you can believe it, Floor was far more spot on than this one. In my opinion, she transcended everything with that performance. It sends chills up and down my spine every time I listen to it. So I’d highly recommend you check it out off camera, just for yourself and to have the experience, you won’t regret it. With that said, welcome to the Nightwish Army! As you can see by the comments, new reactions to Floor and Nightwish bring the army forward to welcome the new recruits :) You have so much to look forward to, so many amazing songs, I’m a little jealous that I can’t go back and hear things for the first time and get that “mind blown” experience that can only happen upon first listen. My suggestion is to listen to “Phantom of the Opera” with Floor and Henk Poort. They play off each other so well, and it was Floor’s dream to perform the song with Henk because she saw him portray the Phantom in the play and his performance was incredible.
If you catch some free time, I suggest listening this song from Wacken in 2013. Buenos Aires version is when she just got in the band, while Wacken version is after 10 months, stars aligned and perfection was borned in front of 82 000 people.

I'm a bit more of a Tristania fan myself. Don't get me wrong, Nightwish is good, I dig their version of Phantom of the Opera, but Tristania has the medieval gothic edge to their metal. Especially their earlier stuff. Sequel of Decay, Deadlocked, and Angina are all good. I love Vibeke Stein's voice. She is also opera trained vocally. You may also like the medieval folk/doom metal band Apocalypse Orchestra. Garden of Earthly Delights and Theatre of War are awesome. Also, I like your green highlights. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland.
Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [The 1st Bassist of the band was Sami Vanska, he was with them until 2001. The 2nd one was Marco Hietala, as Bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. Then very recently (May 2021) Jukka Koskinen became the 3nd Bassist of the band, for at least the Human :II: Nature tour] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition.
Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her.

@@AileenSenpai For many of us, Nightwish appeared in difficult times in our lives, and their music worked as a medicine / energizer / amplifier of something good in all of us. We are glad that they exist, that they are part of our lives, and we feel the need to give them something back. If we can't do more - at least to make them better known. It's that joy of sharing something obviously good with others. It's a simplistic explanation, but this is the conclusion I reached, from my experience and that of other fans. Well... If you don´t listen to the wacken one buenes aires is probobly at least the second best. But i would certanly agree to there being space to dissagree.
But this is certanly the two master part. The 2015 London one is in my opinion slightly worse.... not much so... but a bit.

Great reaction. The reason the Wacken version is considered better is because at this performance Floor had only been with the band for 2 months having joined the band mid way thru the US leg of their World Tour. By Wacken she had been with the band for 10 months and was much more confident and the song had evolved even further. Stay safe 🤘✌

To be fair, she'd been with them since October 2012 (this was August 2013) and this was her 45th concert as unofficial lead singer for the band, though that's still not a long time considering how Tuomas re-worked some of the songs around her. (I *think* she'd been asked to join full-time by this show, but not positive. Certainly hadn't been announced as such.)

Floor Jansen is the third and present singer of Nightwish and widely considered the best and most versatile female singer of our time as you will experience when diving deeper into this rabbit hole. As I am a Flooraholic from Utrecht, The Netherlands, here is some more background information on our 1.83m tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen. She joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. My favourite song is 'Energize Me'. They made a very beautiful music video out of this. Floor attended the then new Rock Academy in 1999 and graduated in 2003. Later she did a year Conservatory to learn some more classical singing. 'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song, such as from full operatic to serious growls in seconds. The songs 'Disdain' and 'Wild Card' are good examples. During this time Floor also did vocal coaching and as Floor is a perfectionist she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the American Tour as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour ('Please learn the setlist in 48 hours'). The lyrics of the songs of Nightwish are very poetic and the music as a whole is challenging, but Floor pulled it off and she stayed for the whole world tour, culminating in the iconic Wacken 2013 Open Air festival. It was obvious that the match Nightwish and Floor Jansen was made in Walhalla, so she became a permanent member of the band in 2013 as the relationship with Annette and the band was strained even before she became ill. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp' for a couple of years, but it became clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so Revamp disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died' is a must see. Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on RUclips. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe, watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa'. And to see her in full opera mode watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered RUclips in the last year and uploaded many interesting videos on her channel. Mindblowing covers, chats with her idols and other singers, vocal masterclasses, personal insights and so much more. She even made a video reacting to herself performing this song at Wacken. Floor Jansen is a vocal athlete with incredible range , versatility, vocal stamina, and stage presence. She is a soprano with a range of more than three octaves (D3 to F6). It is apparent when listening to her sing that she has spent the better part of her life fine-tuning her instrument with help from several vocal coaches. Floor can sing in multiple languages and genres and is a vocal coach herself. It is incredible how she is able to take any song and make it her own. This woman is a true gift to her craft and an incredible addition to a band that has always been great until 2013 when they officially hired the undisputed Queen of Metal Floor Jansen, making Nightwish the greatest band on the planet. I LOVE it when reactors recognize that Emppu's simple, melodic solo is EXACTLY what this song needs, not some hot, shredding riff. Emppu does that when the time is right!
So true. That's why I like David Gilmour's solo in "Comfortably Numb" so much, it just has the perfect flow for the song. He can certainly be fancy when he wants to but only does it when he needs to. That's the difference between a musician and an artist.
I am a huge fan of the female singers who do things you didn't think possible, Lena of Infected Rain, Tatiana of Jinjer, Courtney of Spiritbox, but Floor and Nightwish are simply mind blowing!!

I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing this live recently in Dublin, Ireland when they played. If you can, go see them live in concert. It's a fantastic experience.
I like the choir track being easier to hear in BA and the crowd reaction, also the way the camera is just caressing Floor who is sheer beauty here as she truly nails the "Floor ending" for the first time in performance. Of course I have now only heard this 300 times and Wacken 800 times so...to be fair I will have to hear both 1000 times each to decide!

The interesting fact she just joined a band at that time. In their first show together, she was said "You have 48 hours to learn a set list". By the way check her opera, pop, and rock performances in the show Beste Zangers. Also for screams and harsh vocals, I recommend Yours is an empty hope.

The thing is... We sit here, watch the video and we're amazed and everything. But if we take a step back and think for a minute: Someone wrote this. Arranged the instruments, the classical bits and got everything working. And then they play this live. Without auto tune or playback. Just pure talent and a vision. I fuckin' love metal. All metal. It's probably the most emotional and purest form of art.

I recommended a different version of this song (the Wacken 2013 version is even more impressive), but this one is good too. Floor can sing with an operatic approach, pop, rock and even grunting. I know this is a comment for an old review but it amazes me when I see you guys say that you hear three or four different songs in this one score but you don't relate it to a musical score. The name of the song is Ghost love score which is like a musical score to a soundtrack for some theatrical or cinematic thing. Floor does an amazing job of changing her voice to match those different moods or feelings or sounds. It sucks that Marco has left the band now. Toumas

This is one of Floor Jansen's earliest performances with Nightwish. Only in band for 2 months. Replaced previous singer mid tour who couldn't perform this as by first singer. Floor (their third singer) made this and so many other songs her own. A much better version of this,in fact the whole concert, is at Wacken 2013 after 10 months with Nightwish.
This was a good performance, but Waken blows it away. As others do, I highly recommend the entire Waken performance. There is nothing else like it.
And again a soul is taken by our Dutch Valkyrie Goddes of Metal, she even sings from the gamecube game Final Fantasy Chronicals, Sound of the Wind and O Mio Babbino Caro..She sings on some projects of Ayreon, The valley of the queens is a good start to see.

The Wacken 2013 (Germany) version of this song is the Gold Standard for this. This one is good too. You can't go wrong with any song from Wacken 2013. Probably the best concert of all time for this genre. Wacken 2013 is the GOLD STANDARD for most any NW songs recorded prior to 2012 and featuring Floor Jansen. Studio quality sound. Epic showmanship. Floor joined the band in 2012 and propelled it into the stratosphere. This Wacken concert proved it. (She was the groups 3rd vocalist and joined when the previous singer got sick in the middle of the tour.) Floor got the request and had to fly from the Netherlands to the U.S. and had 48 hours to learn a dozen NW songs to perform in the next show. Many newer NW songs (those written specifically Floor) can be found in the Tampere, Finland 2015 concert and the 2015 Wembley concert. Nightwish is different than most other metal. Songs are epic, heroic and up lifting. More like cinematic scores from GOT or Lord of the Rings. No screaming, or satanic roaring. Everybody in the band is part of a happy family. All smiles and comradeship. Floor can roar but she rarely does it. She can actually sing. Why roar when you have the voice of an angel. It would be like using your Ferrari to haul gravel.
That ”out of soul” experience is also called a floorgasm. Which only floor ”the goddes” of female singers can give you.

Great reaction! Two requests for you. The first is Floor Jansen and Henk Poort singing 'Phantom of the Opera' which is phenomenal. The other is Wintersun singing 'Sons of Winter and Stars.' They are a Finnish heavy metal band and the lead singer had about a quarter of one lung removed for TB contracted in the military, but it doesn't slow him down. This is by far the best concert Nightwish has performed. I personally believe the universe was aligned perfectly for this band on that night because the entire performance was ridiculously flawless.
I mean like that could have been their studio album for those songs. Unfortunately many will admit that their live shows are better than their studio recordings especially since Floor Jansen took over the reins on vocals in 2012.
She walked onto the stage with Nightwish for the first time on October 1st 2012 in Seattle, Washington. She only had 48 hours to learn the setlist since the previous singer, Anette Olzon, was fired after the September 29th performance.
The keyboard player, Tuomas Holopainen, is the founder of the band and writes 95% of all songs. He also has a close connection with Pip Williams who conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Metro Voices and the Children's Choir.
The orchestral parts and choirs are prerecorded in London and have been since their very first album.

Floor had only been with the band for two months at this point. So the vast majority of the crowd had already bought tickets expecting the previous singer. By the end of this song (not the opener) the crowd was chanting her name. After she is finished singing and turns around to the drummer, when she turns back to the crowd she has tears in her eyes. Also Floor gives you those feelings song after song. I will enjoy following you on this journey.
You said it lovely lady. We do refer to Floor Jansen as the Valkyrie goddess. Nightwish vocals are more melody focused and beautiful. However, Floor has many different vocal colors. Hope to see you again very soon Aileensenpai! Loved it! Peace.

I've been fortunate to have seen Nightwish/Floor Jansen live....when Floor walks out at 6'2" in her black leather outfit her presence just dominates the stage. One of the best concerts I've ever been too and I'm old enough that I've been to Carpenter concerts! (LOL look it up)

Watch a dutch tv show Beste Zangers 2019 (Best singers) On the show thetr are dutch singers from different styles of music will sing for eachother. It's not a competition. They do it just for fun. Floor is world famous but in our country the Netherlands she wasn't that famous. After the show people in the Netherlands know her now very well. It's a good show. Listen to Floor Jansen singing "Phantom of the Opera" together with another great dutch artist Henk Poort. Henk was the first Phantom of the Netherlands in the 90s. He was one of Andrew L. Webber favorite Phantoms. Floor did a couple of songs on this show. Listen also the cover she did of "shallow" on this show or the song "Winner". This song was from the artist also on this show who she sings it for. They all sing songs from eachother in their own style or covers from other artist around the world..
As others have said, you should definitely watch the Wakken 2013 Live version of this. Not that this performance was bad, but the 2013 Wakken Festival performance, the entire band was just firing on all cylinders PERFECTLY and if you can believe it, Floor was far more spot on than this one. In my opinion, she transcended everything with that performance. It sends chills up and down my spine every time I listen to it. So I’d highly recommend you check it out off camera, just for yourself and to have the experience, you won’t regret it.
With that said, welcome to the Nightwish Army! As you can see by the comments, new reactions to Floor and Nightwish bring the army forward to welcome the new recruits :) You have so much to look forward to, so many amazing songs, I’m a little jealous that I can’t go back and hear things for the first time and get that “mind blown” experience that can only happen upon first listen.
My suggestion is to listen to “Phantom of the Opera” with Floor and Henk Poort. They play off each other so well, and it was Floor’s dream to perform the song with Henk because she saw him portray the Phantom in the play and his performance was incredible.
If you catch some free time, I suggest listening this song from Wacken in 2013. Buenos Aires version is when she just got in the band, while Wacken version is after 10 months, stars aligned and perfection was borned in front of 82 000 people.
You really need to experience many more songs by Nightwish and Floor Jansen to see the talent because there are so many examples

..though a little let down that you went for the BA version from 2 months after she stepped in for Anette Olzon. When Tuomas called her she was healing her soul after a burn-out earlier. Her confidence wasn't the best, but after a while she got it back. At Wacken 2013 she got it all back.. everything was perfect.

I'm a bit more of a Tristania fan myself. Don't get me wrong, Nightwish is good, I dig their version of Phantom of the Opera, but Tristania has the medieval gothic edge to their metal. Especially their earlier stuff. Sequel of Decay, Deadlocked, and Angina are all good. I love Vibeke Stein's voice. She is also opera trained vocally. You may also like the medieval folk/doom metal band Apocalypse Orchestra. Garden of Earthly Delights and Theatre of War are awesome. Also, I like your green highlights. She performed at the Festival 2013 in Wacken even a bit better ... , if you see the concert you cant believe thats on Stage , live , unbelievable .
