- Here is a demo video on how to run a Berkos Third Stone Fuzz in a completely clean amp platform. I am using a XTS Iridium and a Vemuram Jan Ray to emulate the sound of a amp with some break up.

I knew there was a reason I didn't like fuzz pedals through a clean amp. I thought maybe I just didn't like fuzz pedals any more. I'm currently running the Bearfoot Fx Pink Purple into a King of Tone, and it gets the sound I was after. Great demo!
Great demo!
Finally a video without all that damn delay , Dave.😁
Damn, I new I forgot something. :)
Thats badass!
Clever...I like it.
I'm hoping to hear the XTS w the Venuram Sniffing around those exact fuzz boxes Thinking maybe the Iridium w my TS or CoT for some lovely manageable boosted fuzz That Berkos rocks too though 😝
Doyle Bramhall II’s exact rig lol
Hey David i have to say your channel is amazing some extremely amazing tones !. I just have to ask do u prefer the sound of wha before the fuzz or after ? Thanks
Thanks. Before Fuzz. Some Wahs won't work before the fuzz-in that case I use a Vibe with it to correct the impedance.
would this setup help the fuzz cut through in a live setting?
I kinda like the berkos without the extra drives
I was thinking the same thing The XTS is a low gain fuzz
I prefer straight in the clean amp
Nice! Would a clean boost also work in this context?
Thanks. No it won't.
Price and availability should be advised. Great video. But at $390 for a pedal on Reverb if there is one available? Would love to see your GO TO affordable, available options with the same clarifying analysis. Thx.
I don't sell them. They are available direct only at Berkosfx.com. This method above will work with most Fuzz Face types.
RACKDOCTOR Thx for the information. Great sound comparisons. Love the headroom of the www.vemuram.com/jan-ray.html
In your opinion, do you prefer the sound of the fuzz into an overdriven amp or the fuzz into a overdrive pedal? Or is it roughy the same??
I prefer it into certain drive pedals. Then you don't have to EQ the amp differently of turn it up till it changes eq in order for the fuzz to sound right.
So basically you can keep the fuzz at clean tone volume then use the OD to boost it
Yes, and also make the fuzz not as bright.
In your experience should a muff fuzz go first before drives or after them into semi clean amp?
Before.
Sorry to ask where do you have the gain trim on the Jan Ray? Thank you 🙏
Slightly up from all the way down. 1/4 up.
@@RACKDOCTOR Thank you L.A. SOUND DESIGN!!!!!!!🙏🙏🙏
Or... use a smaller amp on the Edge of Breakup? Do you get additional benefits from running it through a OD pedal vs. a slightly broken up amp?
The Vemuram sounded like a great “clean” sound to me. Not a huge fan of the “super clean” sound?
The advantage would being able to switch between a really clean sound instead of just having a slightly dirty clean.
Hello David How to get that "amp with some breaking up" without the Jan Ray ( so $$$ for me) please ? With the Tejas Boost ? With the Roger Mayer Voodoo 1 ? Lovepedal OD11 If the Jan Ray is THE pedal, i will be waiting for a used model.. Thanks Nicolas from France.
I would suggest the Jan Ray or XTS Iridium.
Thanks David..
The Lovepedal Church of Tone is good as well It's just a one knob wonder if you don't want the extra I think I'm going to pull the trigger on an Iridium Thanks LASD
It’s all in the flavor you want and adjust to it… I run mine into a boss blues driver… I just turn the gain back… he’ll you run the fuzz into a klon style pedal if you wanted…
@@traviscrown9189 Thanks.. 🙂
I have a question: I bought the third stone pedal and I absolutely love it but when I turn the pedal on the hum is the loudest thing ever ! Like just as loud as my playing. I know it's not the pedal because my other fuzzes do it too. Do you think my amp has a problem ?
What amp are you using?
@@RACKDOCTOR JCM 2000. I think I might have solved it. I had a Gamechanger Sustainer before the 3rd Stone. That was stupid
