- Midway through the days route collecting trash and single stream. About 10 minutes in you can see the product pushing at the window screens up at the top and hear some pretty nice crushing and popping. We're probably about an hour before we would be packed out.
It's been a while since I posted a hopper view, I ended up splurging and getting a GoProHero 8 and man, what a difference! There is no vibration distortion and the audio is much clearer compared to my previous videos. I do however have to figure out how to fix the wide angle so that it sees more into the hopper rather than halfway out of the truck, but it's definitely clearer and more stable.

This being a Side Loading split body truck, there is often some material that spills into the other compartment. This is known both in the industry and in the manufacturers circles. At this point in time.. nothing will be done about it so please don't flood the comments with "OMG THERES RECYCLE GOING IN THE TRASH" at the end of the day, it's less than a 96 gallon cart which makes it less than 1% of the entire load.
There is no system that is 100% perfect, even those trucks that are single body, have some degree of contamination due to the fact that people in the US are terrible at recycling.
Truck is 2019 Mack LR600 with a Labrie ASL 60/40 37yd split body
Town of Shirley, Ma

Wow this different. Recycling on one side and trash on the other side.
Thanks for sharing this video!
Be safe out there with the coronavirus going around.
Thank you. This kind of body is growing in popularity as more and more Refuse companies are getting them.
YES! This video is awesome! I’ve always been a big fan of the Labrie Expert, mostly because of the packer.
Glad you enjoyed it!
man i like that that's pretty cool one for recycling and one for wast trash.
People shure yuse alot of recycling not much trash that shud be in bags 😊just I love watching it's very inertaning
Awesome video, love the quality of the new GoPro! I know some drivers will actually leave the arm out a little bit when they dump into the curbside hopper, so that material doesn’t spill over the divider.
I know what you're getting at. unfortunately, i can't do that with this arm, i had the large shield removed from the arm which would normally keep the material from spilling before the cart is raised. So now, the further the cart is from the body the more likely material will spill on the ground. There's no winning .
Good video, I agree. I do, however, try my best to recycle and don't consider myself terrible at recycling. There are still other people, though.
Wow. I’ve never seen recycling packed out like that before.
Yep, recycling can get pretty mean.
Nice work 👍👍
Hi I love your videos
Thanks, i appreciate it!
@@NashobaTrashTrucks no problem
You should do a video from the truck being empty to it being full. Also great video.
I've thought about doing that but it would end up being too damn long and cumbersome. Some of my previous videos were from the beginning to middle.
@@NashobaTrashTrucks ok
Late morning i believe.. closer to noon.
Sweet video
Thanks!
@@NashobaTrashTrucks sure thing
Thanks I always wounded how good these spit body’s worked on a ASL . I’m really impressed by how good it works. How much do u get on each side
It really depends on the day. Some days are way heavier than others. The day this video was filmed was the week after xmas & new years so it was definitely heavier than usual. I'd say about 7-10 tons trash and 2-4 tons of single stream per day.
@@NashobaTrashTrucks that’s not bad at all . We have 4 spit body rear loads in are company . They get 6to 8 ton on the trash side and 4 ton on recycling side . I just want to thank u for your time
Good video, not a lot of contamination. Could you do another video with the same houses? I'd like to see that.
the videos are usually of the same pickup day. so there's a good chance that the same houses are getting filmed.
@@NashobaTrashTrucks thanks so much
Awesome video! Really neat to see a split body hopper, especially on a truck like the Labrie Expert! Appreciated the clean, well sorted recycling! Lol I film with a GoPro 7, and gave been wanting to do a hopper video of my Split Automizer for a while now. Do you also use a magnet mount? Someone told me that those can erase memory, but I don't know. Anyhow, new sub here!
Thanks for the sub and the feedback!
Not at this time, I currently use the GoPRO vice grip mount as it's very powerful and i can get it in places that a suction cup mount can't go. I've seen the magnet ones but i don't trust them to stay in place... i haven't heard anything about erasing memory though
Sure! Ok thanks, I looked up "Gopro Vice Grip" and it didn't show, where do you find it? If not I got a good magnet mount 😉
this is the official gopro product.. but you can definitely findthe same thing for a quarter of the price on amazon
gopro.com/en/us/shop/mounts-accessories/jaws/ACMPM-001.html
Thanks! Lol, I saw this on Amazon but since it didn't say "Vice Grip" I didn't know that was it.
It’s not split at all. Underneath the swinging door it’s all one unit. The door just gets in the way and makes it way harder to crush the garbage down. Stupid af
Very good system against coronavirus the automatic loader. Grettings from France, country with classic rear manual loader garbage trucks (two or three employees per trucks).
Hello France! We still have tons of rear loaders operating in the US but I believe they are slowly phasing them out for safety. Too many injuries and deaths.
@@NashobaTrashTrucks Ok thanks you for informations. ;)
@@NashobaTrashTrucks In France there are few, but more and more cities who use ASL collect system now, for economy and safety.
Hey! You can’t do that! You put green bags in a blue bin, and dumped it in the regular garbage side! Lmao 🤣. 19:10
Why not?
@@NashobaTrashTrucks Just a joke, I have minor OCD tendencies. Lol.
Nice 👍
Where was this load dumped
This was a first load single stream that went to Fitchburg. The trash went to Westboro
Don't look like much garbage in those cans. On my street, all cans are overloaded and garbage is on the ground.
36:28 hahaha
Most bins seem to be clean recycling lol
For the most part yes. It's all single stream.
