  • For the thirtieth day of my series “March of the Birds” I drew the Regent Honeyeater. Feel free to do your own research about this bird; it’s quite fascinating!
“March of the Birds”, is a series where I’ll be drawing a different endangered bird everyday. The goal of this is to raise awareness for endangered bird species. This series is meant to show the effects of climate change, habitat destruction, and invasive species that threaten bird populations. Some organizations that are helping to document and conserve these species are listed below:
🐝 The National Audubon Society: A non-profit organization that works to conserve bird populations and their habitats. You can help support them by purchasing their field guides! I have almost all of them and they’re very informative. Their site: www.audubon.org
🐝 Icelandic Society for the Protection of Birds (the Fuglavernd): This society is not affiliated with the government and works to conserve birds and their habitats, along with raising awareness for the birds. They were instrumental in helping to conserve the white-tailed eagle, the rock ptarmigan, and the Greenland white-fronted goose. You can support them by visiting their official site and donating! Their site: fuglavernd.is/english/
🐝 Spanish Ornithological Society: Located in Spain, this charity aims to conserve birds, collect and publish data regarding birds, and work against threats to bird populations. You can support them by visiting the Birdlife’s official website and donating! Their site: www.birdlife.org/partners/spa...
Note: my main source for finding the last two organizations was Wikipedia, which has a much larger list of bird conservation and protection organizations. You should definitely check them out to see how you can help!
