These two had such wonderful chemistry, it was so hip and swinging baby! Oh, mercy, how I loved her so, I still do. This is a death that truly hits home, for I really loved this show. It was her eyes, who wouldn't have fallen, yes? They say one never forgets their first Love.. ❤ Diana Rigg ❤ 💔
You're right! The way they look into each other's eyes, and at each other's lips, their casual ease in each other's company. Clemens knew he had magic in his actors and wrote for it.
@@dissoluteSwine I believe it was improvised. I don't believe Brian Clemens really knew until later, what he had where Diana was concerned. Given his treatment of Linda Thorson, I believe he thought they were " expendable" at the time.
When I was young this series was only available in b / w tv broadcast , but when I saw it in colour it was wonderful esp . Ms.Peel’s fashion and lovely hair ❤️
It switched to color before there was color TV in Britain, because it had started being shown on American network TV which by then had 100% color programming during the nightly primetime hours.
In fact, I've been laughing my head off tonight. I accidentally turned on the subtitles and decided to read them. "Start packing, Mrs Peel" became "Stop panting Mrs Peel."
These two are the greatest example of sexual chemistry to this day even. University courses in TV/Film production should highlight them. You can't teach it though because the stars have to be aligned perfectly for it to happen. Patrick and Diana had this magic. It will never be matched.
"Basil, baby" from Mrs. Peel means this is the end of my favorite episode, in which their minds are switched with two criminals. Thus Diana Rigg spends most of this story calling Steed by his bad-guy character's name, Basil.
As stated here, he most certainly did taste Mrs. Peel's forbidden fruit. But it's so much better that they didn't really need to show much. It's much more interesting, isn't it? ruclips.net/video/6mx16q8RC1k/видео.html
Of course they did. And it's not even subtle unless you don't want to go there. Which is fine, I guess, but a little silly. These two were single, you know. Mrs. Peel was a widow in every description of the character ever until Brian Clemens retconned her husband back in the story at the very end. Ah well.
Nothing , nobody, ever has come close to such style, class, elegance, grace, go on & on & on.
Perfectly stated; thank you for your observation as mine but you stated first ! Bravo !
They absolutely did. The way Steed breaks the 4th wall as he whisks Emma away to Paris and St. Tropez. Hubba hubba! 💕
Those two were always a delight ... and we are all the less for Diana Rigg's passing. Mrs. Peel? You're STILL needed!
Simply a magnificent indulgence of imagination and romance nobody can do better than Steed and Mrs Peel

Love.. ❤ Diana Rigg ❤

She was my favorite actress. Liked Patrick Macnee also.
I MISS Mrs Peel and Steed Both of you RIP❤❤NEVER forgotten😢
the way the duet McNee and Rigg gave life to Ms Peel and Mr Steel was unique !!! perfection.
😃😍😍❤️❤️❤️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Diana Rigg was simply gorgeous! Her sidekick - Patrick - was a great guy as well!
The whole series was done with a wink and a smile.
That's why I love it so!
Like Rooger Moore as Simon Templar in The Saint...

In 70 years of television chemistry history, it's never been better than these two. Along with writer Brian Clemens, they are the holy triumvirate.
You're right! The way they look into each other's eyes, and at each other's lips, their casual ease in each other's company. Clemens knew he had magic in his actors and wrote for it.
Macnee used to credit Rigg with rewriting their dialogue, but certainly Clemens provided the ingenious, evil plots.

@@jeffsullivan2044 By the time of The New Avengers, he admitted in an interview that he had not done right by Diana Rigg as far as the scripts went.
I do love a woman in a suit!😍
Loved the show, the brilliant and beautiful Emma Peel, and the dapper and urbane John Steed.
It's amazing how two great performances can enliven the most seemingly pedestrian of scripts
Macnee repeatedly credited Rigg with rewriting their scripts & producers encouraged them to improvise, thus their spontaneous rapport.
This is the best TV ever !
Correct !

When she called him "Basil", I knew exactly which episode this tag scene comes from.
Indisputably the best series of all times...together with the prisoner, both english series. You can trust me, as a French I am a man of good taste 😉
Oooh they do make me smile these clips.
In fact, I've been laughing my head off tonight. I accidentally turned on the subtitles and decided to read them. "Start packing, Mrs Peel" became "Stop panting Mrs Peel."

She always stands so close to him, it's like they're about to kiss every time.
Agreed !
One should never take a man for granted, but one does! PRICELESS!
Emma could take any man for granted! Thanks so much for this one!
Just perfect!
I LOVE IT!!!!
Unforgettable series, unforgettable and gorgeous Emma Peel, unforgettable John Steed...

♥️♥️♥️♥️
Interesting how the colors always changed in their flats this series.
Love,/
Ha ha ... so great .........
❤😂😂 😂❤
What lovely copper hair she had backthen
Titian, as Steed put it.
Did they or didn't they have an intimate relationship? They are flying to Paris for a birthday celebration. Probably not in separate rooms.
Left to the audience imagination, but they probably didn't. That would ruin the show.
Besides, her husband does eventually return.
It was much more interesting back then when only the suggestion of intimacy was given.
