Soldiers deserve respect but not the Pak army of 1971. They committed genocide. Actually, PAF had bested IAF in the 1965. Hence, IAF ability to lick wounds, learn it's lessons and restrategize must also be appreciated. Also, let's not forget the vessels - American F-104 Starfighters vs Soviet built MiG-21FLs.

It is very easy to brag about yourself when your opponent has too little to fight back. Real valour is when the enemy is big enough but you have some thing to fight back in 65 Pakistan Pakistan obliterated IAF although IAF was much bigger and have if not better then equally capable aircraft.

@@sureshnaidu201 please tell me how. And in which hole you have hidden your mig 21 in 1965, more than two squadrons all armed with A2A missiles. This lie was created by IAF to hide their humiliation when they lost more than 76 aircraft while PAF lost only 20. Many indian analyst when cornered grudgingly accepted these figure because it was by a neutral assessment.

@@snd9826 By those standards, the honor of valour will go to the Indian military force and NOT Pakistan. Pak was a far superior force in 1965 and PAF had advanced fighter jets and better trained pilots. It was also immediately after 1962. Pak invaded India with a sound plan and swiftly took control of many territories (In fact, it is said that the Indian army actually withdrew with little resistance because India's position was weak). However, Pak's fatal flaw was that in their designs for Kashmir they forgot about Lahore. They did not expect India to cross the border from Punjab.
The irony is that Pak which actually started the war for Kashmir and later withdrew fearing the loss of Lahore celebrates 6th September as its Defense day. It's actually Pak's Defeat day. The Pak army is a joke.

The 1971 war is often hailed as a victory by India, yet many overlook the strategic advantages India had during that time. The geopolitical and international context in East Pakistan was highly chaotic, with numerous factors influencing the outcome, including foreign interference and internal instability. India’s military intervention in 1971 was not merely a result of "bravery," but also due to favorable conditions that were heavily skewed in their favor.
As Pakistanis, we are resolute in defending our sovereignty and territorial integrity. We challenge India to show true bravery by directing their so-called "mighty army" toward Baluchistan-a region that has remained a peaceful part of Pakistan despite external efforts to destabilize it. If India dares to repeat its past mistakes of interfering in the internal affairs of sovereign nations, we assure them that the consequences will be dire.
The history of India's interventions in Pakistan is a bitter reminder of their constant attempts to provoke and destabilize. However, Pakistan’s resilient army and determined people are more than capable of defending every inch of our land. We stand united and ready to turn any foreign aggression into an unrelenting defeat. InshaAllah, our great nation and its brave soldiers will ensure that Baluchistan becomes a Shamshan Ghat for any invading Indian soldiers, where they will meet their defeat and destruction.
Pakistan is not a nation to be underestimated, and we are ready to defend our honor and sovereignty at all costs.

    Dear Shekhar ji
At 24:40, you mention of a battalion of The Punjab Regiment that was encircled and had to be extricated.
The nuances of history are as important as history itself, and a sway either way changes the interpretation of events in a manner which is vastly different from the truth. So framing of facts accurately is an absolute esssential.
The batallion is 15 Punjab. The valour and bravery of the unit in The Battle of Hussainiwala is praised by Gen Fazal Muqim Khan in his book ' Pakistan's Leadership in Crisis' which you have referred to in this episode.
Gen Khan criticizes the Indian Military leadership of not providing reinforcements to the batallion at a moment when the unit had gallantly held on to the defences without giving an inch of ground. The soldiers pounced on the enemy like tigers true to the spirit of the Khalsa, only to be ordered to vacate and withdraw.
The higher Indian Military leadership in that sector let the batallion down. Gen Rawlley the Corps Commander would certainly have something to answer about his decisions.
The Commanding Officer of 41 Baluch the unit in battle with 15 Punjab , in his book on the Battle of Hussainiwala was himself surprised that the Indian unit which fought in the true tradition of the Indian Army was not reinforced at the time . The history of The Western Theatre in 1971 would have been vastly different had the leadership of that theatre had been different. Field Marshal Sam Maneckshaw I understand was himself keen on an offensive operation in the western theatre, when the Pakistani army had as it is been wasted by our troops in the East.
The entire history of our country would have been different had the political leadership listened to the Field Marshal and had not come under pressure allegegdly from the Americans

    Facts in History:
Bangladesh emerged as a sovereign independent country on 16 December 1971, enduring a prolonged struggle and a nine-month long brutal war. Describing the events of that day, in his book titled ‘Liberation and Beyond: Indo-Bangladesh Relations’, former Indian Foreign Secretary, diplomat and National Security Adviser late J.N. Dixit wrote, “A major political mistake at the surrender ceremony was the Indian military high command’s failure to ensure the presence of General M.A.G. Osmani, Commander from the Bangladesh side on the Joint Command, at the ceremony and making him a signatory. The formal excuse explaining his absence was that his helicopter did take off but could not reach Dhaka in time for the surrender schedule. But there was widespread suspicion that his helicopter had been sent astray so that he could not reach Dhaka in time and the focus of attention at the ceremony was riveted on the Indian military commanders. This was an unfortunate aberration which India could have avoided. The event generated much resentment among Bangladeshi political circles. Osmani’s presence at the surrender ceremony could have helped in avoiding many of the political misunderstandings which affected Indo-Bangladesh relations in the initial days of Bangladesh’s independence.”
We celebrate our glorious Victory in 1971; we celebrate the Truth.

Pakistan had nearly 150 sabers, 60 mig 19, 24 mirages, 12 starfighter, and twenty odd B 57. Now add to it indian AeWACS. Not to mention indian navy aircraft carrier. The qualitative and quantitative gap was so big. But at the end i always expect indians to lie blatantly.

I will try to be precise and use the same words as read in the paper “ this time Indian airforce sprinkled our bases with nails and spikes which made them unserviceable for sometime as cleaning was difficult process moreover one aircraft kept flying North- South within Indian territory giving instructions to their attacking air crafts “

Frankly speaking even most Pakistanis do not even understand the gravity of the situation for pak armed forces. Fighting a second war in six years where not only our principal ally and arm supplier had back stabbed us but stopped all military supplies to us. Although fully aware of how USSR is arming India, USA decided to keep us in such a state where we should not be able to fight back

I had read accounts of USSR pilots who admitted they were carrying out sorties inside Pakistan indeed there were also Bengali pilots from PAF. Add to this severe shortage of ammunition and ordnance. List is very long I just suggest don't get blinded by the propaganda of persons like Shukla who lies through his teeth to justify anything his country does.
