The funny thing is that unintentionally I discovered the total oposite of MPE on one of the first preset FM synths. Since my GS2 does not allow splits, it desperately needed a compagnion. Lady luck was gracious & provided me a YAMAHA CE25. That 1982 ensemble keyboard does not only without MIDI (of course), it is the very first polyphonic instrument I ever played with MONOPHONIC VELOCITY: Playing chords staccato with velocity - no problem, but when you hold a note or a chord, everything you play while holding has exact the same colour and volume as the held notes, no matter how hard or soft you strike the keys, strange but true.
