In this video, 1A Auto shows you how to repair, install, fix, change or replace a dirty, dusty or clogged fuel injector. This video is applicable to the 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, Chevy Suburban, Tahoe, or Silverado pickup truck; or GMC Yukon or Sierra.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:

Just a heads up, I've preformed this a number of times on this same 5.3 platform and there a alot of nuances that were left out.
1 Lube the injector o rings bc you'll tear them easily.
2 pull the entire rail side lube and inspect all in injectors (test as well) 12 to 17 ohms i believe

And very important I might add!
Be sure you push down evenly across the rail to seal the o rings so they do not cock sideways..
When back together cycle the key (do not start) and in spect while key on engine off that there are no fuel leaks.happens often and they can be VERY slight leaks.

Not out if the woods just yet.
Bc they. An still vacuum leak and not leak fuel.
This can be a major stumper.
Spay carb cleaner around the injectors and base of the intake and listen for idle stability to change.
Best done if you have a scan tool to watch short and long term trim values while starting for the vacuum leak.
Hope this actually helps someone.
Took me a while to learn these methods (another words I screwed up alot bc I didn't kw the details) got it down now though and so can you.
Read up on trim values buy a cheap scanner and you can diagnose most newer car issues with your brain and that trim data.

Great vid. However, all should be replaced, not just one. And, one thing no one mentions is how important the o-rings are. A thin film of oil should be put on the o-rings. Helps with install, and lengthens the life of the o-rings.
What kind of oil for the o ring

The 05s to about 09 chevy vortec v-8s are the same as this 04 when replacing a fuel injector
my 05 suburban in the auto pc ck up it came out that #4 was showing up I replace wirers, coil and spark plugs (replaced coil @#4 and still showing up on the computer. Replace #4 spark plug again and found some wetness on the spark plug. Can this be due to the fuel injector at #4?
Looks pretty straight foward. I am not sure of prices at a1auto. But there a "C" note apiece were i am at. Yes makes sence replace all at once. But sometimes if its not broken shouldnt fix it.

Will L59 flexfuel injectors (gonna tune just gas) fit a no FF fuel rail without modifications? The L59 8s 6mm taller
When ordering fuel injectors on your site, it showed me a set of 8 but they are 4 hole injectors. The factory injectors are 2 hole so I would like to replace with the same. How do I specify on the site ?
Is it the same for a 2007 5.3 newer body style?

I have a 2002 Suburban 1500. My current injectors do not look like the ones your replacing in this video. Mine have a square area next to the oval plug on the injector itself. My harness would not fit the injectors in this video. Any explanation?
Thanks, makes it simple and quick. You should do a close up of prying the clip off that way if you mess it up we'll see it and not feel so foolish if we do it.

I have Denso fuel injectors on my Flex fuel 2002 Suburban. Aren't the fuel injectors coded to match individual cylinders? Looking at mine and I see alphas and no numbers designations.
Does the fuel injector have to be installed in a specific order on the engine ?

I have a 2002 gmc yukon xl 1500 slt 5.3L LS engine with 237,000 miles ("Z") on the eight digit in Vin number. I will be replacing the knock sensors soon and was wondering if I should go ahead and plan to replace my fuel injectors at the same time???? I'm also planning to replace my crankshaft sensor and oil pressure sensor too. I did read the GM bulletin regarding the removal and disposal of the foam insert off the rear side of intake manifold and the RTV around knock sensor seals. Again, thank you for all the videos and quick response.
Please help me William. I have the same issues as you the same exact ones it’s idling really bad up-and-down loss of power bad miles per gallon. I had to knock sensors changed and it didn’t help does your truck have loss of power and idle issues ????
I don't know what else to do. I've tried everything but the fuel injectors and the mechanic charged me 600 to do the knock sensors but it doesn't help at all

Being that they pulled both fuel rails, they probably did. Why film the same process 8 times?
On a 2016 Chevy Silverado, the engine light came on. Putting the injector cleaner in the tank made it go away for a little while but it came back on. Taking it to the dealership, they said that cylinder 2 and 6 were misfiring. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Hello Sir. I have 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD. I had codes P0300 and P0455 for over 2 years. I have been trying to fixed the codes ,and replaced all spark plugs and wires. Codes still the same. I replaced all coils. Still the same. I replaced Air flow, still the same. So,I decided to replaced all fuel injectors, still the same but 2 new codes came up on my OD scanner. P0107 and P0200, fuel injectors open. I tried every and could not regain power back. What is? Did I do something wrong?

Yes you can use the metal clip over. But be careful not to let it go flying around when you snap it off.
what's the torque spec on those 4 bolts?

After changing eight of my injectors just for the heck of it I noticed that for some reason now it hesitates to start sometimes what can this be? Could the fuel filter be clogged?
Replace fuel filter mine was hesitating to turn on I just replaced mine and now it turns on no hesitation or anything sounds strong again
Why do you pull the relay? To take fuel pressure off the injectors?
Yes and prevent fuel from spilling out when replacing
i had a misfire in cylinder 2 on my trailblazer i changed my spark plugs in all the cylinders and even changed my coil pack for cylinder 2.. i put my car on my scanner again and now it's saying cylinder 5 is misfiring i changed the coil pack and plugs..and when i step on the gas it shakes...do you guys think my fuel injectors gone bad??

No i didn't have to change any wires.. turns out i had to clean my throttle body that was the reason why it was shaking and hesitating to take off.

the issue start from 40 to 60 km/hr and 100/120
vibration in all car and the RPM jumping same as speed
I changed the spark plug and new wires but still the same
What did it do when the injector was bad

So I took out the fuel pump relay and my 2010 Silverado kept running like nothing happened. Maybe it’s a bad fuel pump? Any other idea what it could be?
Their is no relay for the pump on that model silverado. The fuel pump is controlled by a control module in the rear above the spare tire.
Thanks I'm going to try this method , I've replaced the spark plug + wire+ Coil pack + MAF + air filter , And still getting p0174 p0306 code on #6 cyl

Bull mastiff, any luck with your problem?? I have the same exact thing going on right now with my 09 Silverado. I changed all that you changed too, even did a compression check (with a gauge and my fingers) and have great compression.. so any heads up would be amazing and greatly appreciated!!

When you change all the fuel injectors and finish all the steps, before you attempt to turn on your vehicle you have to give it a few key ignition turns to let the gas get in the fuel injectors. Otherwise you may have trouble turning on your vehicle. Hope this helps.
