Hello, i really like your show, it is super professional and technical. From beginnings of 2018 I own a beautiful Polaris RZR 1000 XP with oem wheels and 30” tires I put them after 3000km and I love the feeling and versatility with 30” plus the higher it looks.. I had never had any clutch issues, also 30” tires sleep less than 29 when you floor it up. My RZR has more 7000km and I love it. It is very reliable and smooth. I know it’s a little bit slower but It’s almost nothing plus my large driving experience has thought me to always use Low gear in steepy hills or difficult situations Please keep safe and thanks for giving us all your technical comments... Greetings, thanks for the kind words. We'd LOVE to visit your country. You could get away with 30" tires without clutching, although as we demonstrated, it makes a noticeable difference in performance. The bigger tires you use, obviously the bigger the loss in performance will be without clutching. You are wise to use low-range on long steep climbs. If more people did that, there would be a lot less complaints regarding Polaris' CVTs. Thanks for watching and for the kind words.

I wonder why engine braking is considered a bad thing. When crawling and going through slick muddy trails I find engine braking to be a very useful tool in my arsenal to get where I want
Engine breaking is hard on belts. If you ever took let’s say a piece of mettle, and you bend it back and forth it breaks with ease. With a belt on the SxS the belt is being pulled and stretched in 2 different directions And causes the belt to break early. Belt driven SxSs shift very smooth and make great trail rigs and high speed dessert fun. Your belt less SxS units such as your Yamahas and the Honda talon make great rock crawlers. The power is there from the factory with Yamaha but no so much with the Honda Talon. I myself still purchased a 2019 Honda Talon 1000R. I got a great deal at $5k off the sticker because I bought it in like March 2020. I wanted a rock bouncer type unit and I felt that the Talon was the right choice. Its nice not having the turbo lag, but the extra power would be nice at times. I should have it payed off about 2 years early. What a glorious day that will be. Mod time galore!!! I all ready have 33” System3 XT300. I have no complaints with the tire choice. I go everywhere the famous Rockzillas go and then some. The Zillas are better on slick rock but I still make it with the XT300s. Mud don’t slow me down not one bit, but the Zillasis that’s a different story. If riding only on rocks than the Zillas are a great choice. Where I ride there is rock,mud,gravel, slick rock, sand. When I ride with my friends I let them lead the way because they like to stick to the rocks. None of us are much into the mud thing. We ride a lot in Davis Oklahoma at a place called Cross Bar. We have all made it up rockface. I think I’m the only one that has made it up dead mans. ( Dont hold me to that alcohol was involved) I’ve made it up a few times with a winch and a few times without. When you ride a lot you know how the trails constantly change. Thanks for sharing your video. If I’m not riding I’m either thinking about it or watching videos about it. LoL damn SxSs are addicting.

Tires definitely make + and - differences... But around here after some of the large tire machines destroy the trails, it is rough on the smaller tire machines... 👍👍👍
I am looking to upgrade my tire size in my 2021 x3 turbo Max XRS RRS but am worried about the smart shox and need advice on a 32” All terrain and do mainly dry packed trails and sand dunes sometimes with pavement sometimes as well.
We have a 50" RZR 900 on the way. We have been getting more requests for reviews on the smaller side-by-side. That would make a good addition to a review on the machine. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have a 2016 Polaris Rzr 1000Xp, all stock. I have 30x10x14 RockaBilly tires on it now, thinking of changing to 32's either another set of RockaBilly's or Maxxis Carnivores....brand aside, what would anyone recommend, Thanks

After I installed 32” tires on my XP4 1000, it felt that I had to press on the gas even more before it accelerates. Is this something I should worry about?
You are pushing the gas farther in part because your belt is slipping more prior to the clutch engaging. There's also a higher chance that you are suffering some belt slippage under high loads from mud/sand. This will wear your belt out more quickly. A clutch kit is much cheaper than the bigger tires you installed. It will improve reliability and performance. If it were our machine we'd install an aftermarket clutch kit. Contact EPI or Dalton to discuss their options. If you have any other questions, feel free to hit us back. Thanks for the question!
Sorry it took us a couple of days to get back to you on this. Wanted to do a little verifying. Allen Knowles, he does a lot of testing for us on the West Coast has ran up to 32 inch tires on the RZR XP platform. He has noticed a little tire rubbing on the front wheel wells at full turn lock when the suspension is highly compressed. Our friends at Planet Side by Side recommend a maximum size of 31 in for the XP platform. We would recommend staying with that just to be safe.
@@alexjrful having watched the video again, Planet Side by Side says you can run up to 32 but it's going to depend on the tire. If it were our money we'd stick with a 31.
Still have never heard an explanation on why bigger tires affect anything, just that it does. No matter the size of the tires, the sxs still does everything the same. One would think with a bigger tire you get more travel for every revolution of the driveshaft. If someone can explain it to me, it would be greatly appreciated.
With a background in ATVs we typically try to avoid really offset wheels for fear of picking up tire scrub in addition to increasing steering effort and bump feedback through the steering. However, this is product testing and we know of Yamaha YXZ short course racers using offset wheels to gain width in classes where you aren't allowed to modify the chassis. Aaron Meyer who drove for us is a former pro quad racer with a good understanding of setup on four-wheeled machines and has owned several SXS. We didn't notice excessive side effects from increased scrub and the power steering pretty much eliminated any negative side effects. Given the option, we'd always prefer to gain width through chassis parts.

No, we are both saying the top MPH is too slow. Think about it...the RZR only reached speeds in the 50’s after flooring the gas for a 1/4 mile? Not possible...
@@DUNEATV interesting. The distance and method was the same for all of the runs. I am 99% sure he said it was a quarter mile run. If I was mistaken in the distance it was the same for each run.
No, you just watch it 10.5 minute video telling you to think about how big you go on your tires, what you need them for, that you might need to use different a arms with them, if you want to set up Square you'll need aftermarket wheels, and that clutching is important if you don't want to cook your belt and you want to maintain performance. Pick whatever brand you like. Those were the ones we picked.
Certainly not with a top speed of just over 60 mph. In fact, it’s impossible to run a sub 15 second quarter mile below 60 mph, even if you started at 55 mph. Something wrong with their table. These look like 1/8 mile times.

Great reply...I always use low gear on any steep hills or any difficult situations. I consider it the life of the machine in the long run.

You forgot that the unstrung weight of the bigger tires does need some upgrades in the suspension to compensate for it.

That offset is horrible for scrub, did you not notice the negative effects? Especially in rutted out sections with that offset?
