Watching people reacting to aseop rock for the first time is my guilty pleasure 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
:-: Ohhhhh wow and you really really found the VERY FIRST of many of Aes.
Bro, you're vibe is that shit. You don't scream into the mic, speaking 20 million words a minute with some corny 15 second intro speaking in tongues. You chill and I like that. Clicked on the video cause Aes is my favorite emcee, clicked subscribe cause of your personality.
:-:Aaaaaaaaa I freaking Love Aesop myself Mann.. All Love and Respect here.. I greatly appreciate your words.. I thank you for becoming a New Warrior Brother to this WaCK Life Nation..
Also lol alot of people say that about my vibe and personality.. I just be me and do me when I make videos..

I love seeing people react to the living thesaurus that is Aes'. Man's got all the words. His Zerofriends performance is also something special. Aes' is right up there with the late great DOOM (RIP). Every track has a lot to unpack.
:-: Shooooooooooottttt!!!! This here...........This Here was the Mother Sucking Beginning of it all with me and Aes..
This is one of my favorite RUclips videos.
I am watching a man find Aes in his life.
It's a little voyeuristic peeping on a man's hears engorge with so much lyric lust.
Hes a walking encyclopedia and doesnt believe in breathing
:-:😂😂😂😂 I Love This Comment and Yes Tbh I feel He is a lot to understand.. However I Love it and it has really attracted me. Sad it took RUclips for me to notice this extreme talent in Hip Hop.
@@iammrwack man I appreciate all the time you put into these vids bro! Theres so many tracks of his. The whole Rhymesayers crew needs a reaction!
@@tylert.8211 :-: We working to get Real Hip Hop Noticed.. Trust and believe WE will get it done.
:-:Also can't wait to react to the next Aesop Rock track. Already got one lined up. Eyedea coming today Tho 😂😂
@@iammrwack Man I'm READY lmao. I'm watching your Eyedea battle rap reaction as I type! One more from the Rhymesayers crew - you don't even need to make a vid of him - Prof. Prof song called No. Or Bar Breaker. Merry Christmas Mr. Wack to you and yours! Loving your work!
Let his skills deteriorate, Aesop was originally an artist, love to draw and paint and went to art school. He felt like he couldn't find a style that was his own that he was happy with, and his side gig of creating rap ended up getting more positive feedback and felt like he was more of a "natural" at rapping. So this song/video is him reflecting back on his true love of drawing/painting and kind of regretting throwing it to the side to prioritize his rapping. If you ever decide to check out more Aesop, I recommend Pigs which is about corporate greed, Daylight or Nickle Plated Pockets for some old stuff, or Klutz for one of his most recent songs that he just drops an insane amount of bars in 4 minutes.
:-: Wooow I Kinda felt he was a Artiist like drawing wise.. However I felt he didn't let his skills deteriorate, i feel he more evolved, perfected, and manifested his Skills into Music. Still Art just not drawing, painting.. Still love the info also will add those to the list to react to.
daylight is mind-blowing
Maybe hes better thanever
I just had a vid from ripk123
@@johnfeola1856 you mean Nightlife. XD
Aesop is definitely in the top 5 best.
:-: Bruuhhh his vocabulary is so extensive
@@iammrwack Yeah I would say that his vocab variety in just a single song is more extensive and that's what propels him as an artist. The difficulty comes in when appraising talent like this when for example, I try to compare and contrast someone like Aesop to someone like Qwel. Let's try this, I'm going to write two different Rhymes. One by Aesop and one by Qwel and without looking it up, you let me know if you can differentiate between who said what as well as trying to differentiate the talent difference between them (if there is any).
"All cones you can slalom when your Zorlac's focused
Via mechanical Dartmoor Frankensteined poorly
And sanctioned by a New Yank Yorkee
Who knew that any moment he could lose it to the decoupaged suicide flooring
And still he keep his fuel tank portly, the 30 odd year old gears thank charlie
The scarf thank Mom's new hobby"
"Rusty red dragon stabbed across my sky so subtle
Greasy cobalt streaks from black squares, puddles of pear bubbles
Puncture holes double as burgundy moons over dim plum meadows
Mint stamped oasis and gray aphids of charcoal statistics
Scraping scarlet across mustard crust, maroon and hunter critics
Purple mistress circles of tin spin under burnt umber crimson"
These are random picks btw. It comes to the point where I can't tell talents apart because we're at the hight of it. All I can do is tell a difference in multi-syllabic density and alliteration. Rob Sonic is the same way, if I put a Rob Sonic verse next to Aesop, I literally can't tell the difference in some cases, he's a spitting image of Aesop.
@@kyleeaton2717 That's why they had such great chemistry on Hail Mary Mallon. Which you should check out Mr Wack! It's Aesop and Rob Sonic doing some rap duo stuff. Bestiary is sooo good
History vocab and literary devices alone surpass any rapper I know, please prove me wrong lol

And may I humbly suggest Aesop's song Bug Zapper. No music video, but the song is fire.
I know its an old video but I really enjoyed it. As a long time Aes fan I look for reacts to him when I need to cheer up. You didn't disappoint.

He's damn good i like this man..great reaction
:-:Thanks my brother.. Much Love and as always appreciate the Love and Support
I let my fears materialize. I let my skills deteriorate.
This song is all about a medium he let go as an artist and how much it changes someone who is creative. The shame of giving up something that made you who you are. His medium was drawing and painting, but now it's rapping. This is his confrontation of who he was. I love the hook. Especially "They will chop you down just to count your rings." All that self-judgment and shame just for not-creative people to measure you by the years you survived.
:-: Ahhhhhh this bring back great memories... This track here is what got everything started when it comes to Aes..
This is when I fell in love with Aes lol..
Aesop is legendary. Keep digging through his discography

im gonna check out your channel, but if you haven't already, you should do a reaction to This Is Not A Wizard from the latest Aes album. its such a great song and i want more people to hear it lol
this was a great video tho, i enjoyed it a lot. impressed that you did this without lyrics in front of you lol, most people have to bring up the lyrics to even begin processing what Aes is saying
:-: MANNNNNNNNNN!!!! This Video right here is where it all began with me and Aes.. Since this I've been a big Aes Fan.. I know alot of people don't really like Reaction Videos and I thank you for taking the time to check mine.. Also I have done "That Is Not A Wizard" We stay on top of it when it comes to Aes.. The Dude is GREAT..
Much Love and Respect.
Very cool and genuine reaction. Love seeing someone discover Aes for the first time.
He has the largest vocabulary in hip hop which is why you may hear some call him objectively the best lyricist. Really what it does is make his music so great to listen to multiple times. You need to hear it at least once to truly have a shot at making out all the lyrics. Having the lyrics in front of you while you listen doesn't hurt either 🙂
Im very happy to see people appreciate aes rock...dude has said more unique words than any other emcee in history...google it im not even over exagerating.
:-: Ohhh I know about Aes and his words lol.. This here Rings is my very very first time listening to Aesop.
Yea theres that chart floating around online showing him miles ahead of every other single emcee for uniqueness. Music for earthworms is his first and best album.
I also moved out of painting and into Hiphop and this song hits hits me in the feels everytime
I'm glad you've gained access to the molar cannon armory owned by SIr Aesop 'Bazooka Tooth' Rock himself. Listen to it all. Start from the beginning.

@@iammrwack I was lucky enough to meet someone who played Aes mixed tapes during parties almost 20 years ago. His verbiage has become a lot easier for people to catch onto as he's aged. RIngs is a good example of complex thoughts but easy to understand. I remember hearing "Grace" from Skelly for weeks and then one day sitting on a bus I realized what the whole song was about and started laughing at every verse. He's a genius.

:-:Ahhhh man this was the first time I heard Aesop and fell in Love with him since this Tbh.. But yeahh it kinda made me feel sad that he quit doing something it seemed he Loved.. Maybe he just turned the pencil from drawing to writing which I can understand that. His music is beyond abstract..
I would say my brother pick that pencil back up and draw.. I paint and draw to ease and escape, relax and focus.
:-: 😂😂😂😂 Ahhh man lmbo you silly @wrldwideindifference I Love You Man lol.
you gotta check out the video for his track "Lazy Eye". the intro kind of sums up where i was when i stopped drawing. i was at a point in my life where i was just ready to give up everything and do something different. the Lazy Eye intro also alludes to the barn setting for some of his later videos, like Dorks.
@@wrldwideindifference :-:Ive noticed how some of his tracks connect to other tracks. Well thru the music videos.. Like its a link to a story on what he was thinking and how he was feeling over a time period. I've seen Lazy Eye but never listened to it so I can make that a reaction video.

@@iammrwack Dawg, u da illest. Do 100 FT. TALL if you can.
It's kinda funny how this is maybe the most straight-forward Aesop Rock song I know, and it still flies over most peoples' heads. Dude used to draw, used to love it, then stopped. Yes, the lyrics are lyric (in the sense of being poetry), but AR can get a lot more complex than the metaphor about cutting down a tree to see how old it is (counting the rings).
:-: After a couple years yes this track here is very straightforward...... However mother sucking Aes still does the got dang thing and remains absolutely amazing.. Daily Rotation
Bruh literally two words in went instant fan, and had to pause. That's the best effect in the music industry
:-: Lmbo.... I was serious cause I won't sure if this was a music video or short film...
At the same time I greatly appreciate and respect you viewing where it all began with my world with Aes.. This is where it all started.
just wanna say again your video format for reactions is dope, the exact thing i wish everyone else on yt did (playing the whole song, stopping when you want to say something or even rewinding stuff you want to hear again)
dw about not getting all the lyrics and visuals, it's -absolutely- built for many listens/watches, you killed it on just what you picked up off of a first experience and that speaks volumes... hittin that sub button!!
if you REALLY care about not seeming overwhelmed, it would be cool to see you listen to hip hop with the lyrics up as you listen... it might make it a lil easier right?
either way, love your shit and cant wait to see more dude

Though "pen game" is used metaphorically; Aes types out all his lyrics on his i phone. 😁
I think that worm symbolizes his own self destructiveness that dwells within him alongside his artistry

The biggest thing I think got lost was... "The Anti-Midas"
I mean years ago now so no by the 20th listen it prolly hit xD

Edit: I almost forgot. Much Love and Respect to you my Warrior Brother.
Used to paint. Hard to admit that I “used” to paint. Makes me think that getting sober pushed his interest from art to music where he could express himself in a more “analytical “ way. More sober and dealing with a different perspective to make art from words instead of pictures.
:-: Hmmm Interesting.. I was thinking about that line just a few days ago wondering more in what he meant.
yeah, i'm sure you've figured this out by now, but interpreting Aes Rock's songs through the videos is like looking at a star through the back end of a telescope. do songs with lyrics first, then enjoy the second layer that is the video. none if his songs were ever created with the eventual video in mind. if you watch a video you get a mush of ideas and concepts that make understanding what the song means impossible.
:-: Yeeeaaaahhhhh I don't pay to much attention to the videos with Aes anymore lol.. I just listen. I FREAKING LOVE AES.
i came back to watch this again, and i cant believe i forgot to mention the video Aesop did for his track "Pigs". since you paint and draw i think you would really like it. in it the legendary Jeremy Fish and a friend draw a giant piece of art from the album in time with the track.

Dude, I ain't gonna lie nor swindle you but I at first got a little annoyed at your constant pausing and musing. But as the video progressed on, you creeped a giant smile on my face as the more astonished you became. As for his vocabulary, there's a reddit post showing how he in his relatively short career used more unique words in his raps than William Shakespeare and Herman Melville alike and is possibly the most verbose rapper alive at the moment.

2. 3rd Bass "Gas Face". Possibly one of the best old school rap videos next to Ice Cube's "It Was a Good Day". Kid 'N' Play, Salt and Pepa, Zev Love X (now MF Doom), and a gas face to Elroy Cohen who was an excutive for Def Jam. Oh, and fucking Gilbert Gottfried. REVIEW.
