As someone who grew up with sm64, but can't speedrun it, this is extremely frustrating to watch. It's like watching someone hammering a nail with the handle and hitting their fingers. I love it
I really like this style of speedrunning. He's playing it like a rental he forgot about and needs to return tomorrow. Not aiming for a World Record, not just a casual playthrough.
Okay, imagine this run: All 120 stars in 64, all 120 in Sunshine, all *121* stars in Galaxy (meaning you have to get each one twice so it's basically 242 stars in Galaxy 1), all 242 stars in Galaxy 2, all Green Stars in 3D World, and all 999 moons in Odyssey. Alright, I want to explain why you were triple-jumping and then going straight down in Wing Mario Over the Rainbow (cloud stage). If you're flying, then you land on the ground while still flying, the game stores the momentum you had when you hit the ground and uses it as soon as you begin flying again. So if you were holding straight up on the control stick to go pretty much straight down, then you landed on one of the clouds while still flying, that's why. It stored the momentum you had when you ceased flying and gave it back as soon as you took flight again, spiking you back into the cloud. Also, the "I guess he just clenches really hard, that's the only explanation" for how Mario gets height when he goes off a portion of slide.... That made me cackle. I like that explanation a lot!
If you want something easier do the marihour challenge. Its consists of beating smb1, smb lost levels, smb2, smb3, smw, and sm64 in all one hour, i was able to pull this off myself with a time of 58:49, which you can find on the speedrun category for this run, not a good time but itll do!

Good video ant
I like that explanation a lot!
cant wait for sunshine
If you want something easier do the marihour challenge. Its consists of beating
smb1, smb lost levels, smb2, smb3, smw, and sm64 in all one hour, i was able to pull this off myself with a time of 58:49, which you can find on the speedrun category for this run, not a good time but itll do!
Ant, get some sleep. Posting at 1:11 am your time?
Nah, I just stayed up way too late because I wanted to upload the video on tuesday haha
Watching this is a weird, sharp reminder that SmAnt is in fact human after all.
If you want to try another long run for a game you could always try the gold symbol run for Pokémon Emerald.
What's that?
