Pirates of the Caribbean is a dark ride at Disneyland, the Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Park in Paris, and currently under construction at Shanghai Disneyland Park
Can't wait to see how Shanghai Disneyland E-ticket attraction called Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure ride looks like when it opens next year.

Wow, great video! You've done an awesome job of capturing the ride as it looks with the naked eye. It feels like an actual window into the ride, more so than a video.
I haven't been on this ride in twenty years. Thank you for bringing back some good memories.
still my sweetest memory of disneyland as a kid.. pretty cutting edge for it's time looks like it's still as impressive as I remember it being.

Man, something that I love about this ride is that it is so long! I mean, truly! You could take a meal and eat it on the ride it's so long! Also I love how it has small little drops and perfict for your little ones! this ride is gold!!
Crossover Queen the fuck "small drops" the first drop is 52 feet that's as tall as splash mountains drop
Soarin splash mountain is not that big of a drop tho

I love the fresh water smell and the cool breeze, I always wanted to put my bed in there especially during g hot summer days lol. Great ride.

this low-light version is great, really great! not only do i see details that i'd only see if i was actually there, but i've even seen a few details i've never noticed before...and i can always pause the video to really give them a god look, too!

What camera are you using? That's amazing low light performance. Judging by the hand cover shots, that must be a very big lens.

52 year old attraction - and still packing them in. And the last ride Walt Disney personally supervised.
I was not expecting those 2 drops in the beginning the first time I got on. Man my knees somehow ended up near my face because I slid down lol

What makes the California version of the ride different from Florida and Tokyo versions is the passengers of the boat returns to ground floor by Splash Mountain like lift near Jack Sparrow's treasure room while Florida and Tokyo versions are not.

OMG it was so fun when we got on the ride we went like 2 week ago we go every once a year so I don't miss because am going next year Yay!!!!!!!!!

Ive only been on the Florida and California rides so I don't know about what the other parks on the other side of the world might have, but IMHO, Disney Land in California has the best POTC ride and possibly my favorite Disney ride out of both parks!
Loved the ride in Florida but the original version here blows it out of the water (no pun intended). The whole Bayou setting and the double drop and the ride through the cursed pirate hideout makes it superior to the Florida version that came later.
+guardian08527 - I agree with your assessment of Disneyland vs. Disney World Pirates. Although, Florida has a better "queue", the ride itself looks like rooms with various tableaus-- wherein Disneyland looks like a "world". On the most part, I have been dismayed with Disney's departures from Walt's original concept, and the story has been lost (ie Where's Jack vs. Where's the treasure). They should have just updated the animatronics and left the "look" alone. Don't get me wrong, I loved the first movie, but keep it in the theaters.
Does anyone know if the mermaids from stranger tides are featured in this one? And if they are where?
I did not hear these lines of dialogue:
"evil curses...something something", "properly worn he be, says I..something"
"perhaps he knows too much"
"shift yer cargo dearie, show 'em your larboard side"
"clear the (something) deck"
On a single ride through you won't hear all the dialogue.
It’s kinda weird but I love the water smell
At the bottom of the first hill I see a hidden Winnie the Pooh right where the dark purple lights start from pitch black. His nose is visible and his face and ear. Further down I see a hidden Mufasa and a hidden Nala.
what are the specs on the camera to do this? No noise, so it must be low iso, medium aperture and low shutter speed
i wonder what all the phrases are between Davey Jones and the "Dead men tell no tales" skull and crossbones guy. i could never remember to ask until just now.

It’s funny how I remember the ride in reverse. When you are little going through the ride things sort of switch places. I always thought the big battle scene was about 1/4 of the way in and the skeleton pirate on the bed was at the very end.
Also do you think one day they’ll make a ride based on the looting and burning of San Francisco, Portland and Seattle and it’ll be funny? Or they’ll make one about Jan 6 and exaggerate the whole thing comedically?

Disneyland's version of Pirates really blows the Magic Kingdom one in WDW out of the water. Pun not really intended, but there it is.

rode this in 2009 when i was in second grade, hated drops. asked my parents right before if there was any and they said no. i went on happy and got off sobbing, i specifically remember the second drop. going to WDW (not disneyland) soon and im debating if i should go on it or not, im definitely going on FEA. i guess the dark makes it seem worse than it is. anyone got tips to suck it up?

They should have refurbished the pirate ship to the black pearl but at least there is music from the movies when you pass the ship and fort
I’ve only ever seen Disneyworld’s version but this was good and longer. The ONLY thing I didn’t like was the constant repeating of Dead Men Tell No Tales. Only needed to hear it once or twice not 14 times.

Its called the Blue Bayou and you call Disney dining for a reservation.

+Robert Blasingame Eh, depends on the season. Summer & Xmas will usually require a reservation just due to the insane amount of people who visit during those times.

Yeah, I was there in July 97 and again in July 2000 and even with reservations it was jammed up too much. The family didn't want to wait for a 9:00PM seating.
