Little bit of extra history about Blood. It didn't technically go away. A little over 20 years ago, Blood became Eulogy Wheels. Both were started and run by Isaac Oltmans who, continues to maintain the brand today.
Good flashback fella. I remember ringing around a bunch of UK skate shops to acquire a white/grey camouflage Hangers pullover jacket. Back in those days I’d be posting off cheques written out by my parents to shops in the US to have them ship me 50/50 frames and juice kits to the UK, some of which I still have today. Great days
Tom, this is fantastic, great history lesson and a lot of new morsels of insight I never knew about these legendary brands! Thanks for a properly refreshing deep dive!🙌
Totally! I always appreciate hearing how early skateboard participants were involved in the beginning of aggressive inline...after two decades of rift it's easy to forget that there was once overlap.
So many great memories repping those 90s brands. A 976 beanie with a massive Medium hoodie was my jam. Fatty Pros stuffed with socks to beef them out 😂
In 1995-96 I had a navy blue Fiction shirt, Senate jeans and the CDS Detroit heal and soul plates. I definitely had Scribe grind plates and a chain wallet as well
What an absolute nostalgia overload Tom. Thanks for this. How great were the 90's skating shirts? I mean, what better way to come off* as a "bright kid, but with a mysterious edge" at your local middle/high-school? Brand names no one heard of, but were all strangely alluring. Funny, I had to turn my Medium "Cartoon Violence" shirt inside out the one day I wore it to school.
It’s been great pouring through the old catalogues and articles looks at those 90s designs - I love lots of them, if not all of them. I think it’s a combination of nostalgia and also 90s designs/styles coming back round again (maybe that’s just for me haha). Haha so funny about having turn the tee inside out. Skating brands did have an edgy, mysterious vibe!
@@TomMoyse Now that I think about it, someone almost told teacher on me for the Rise Above "tree" shirt, since it had a tiny bird smoking a J in the design. Rebel youth we were.
I really enjoy these rollerblading history videos, I always enjoyed it as a kid back in the day but I was a bit too young to be a part of the scene (aggressive inline was dominated by teenagers at the time). Interesting to hear about the culture, some of this stuff I remember seeing.
Thanks man - it great going back through all the stories. It always felt like everyone was just a little older than me but actually were probably the same age haha
I always skated Kryptonics when I was a kid, the Stones on the outside and the Pebbles in the middle. My friend Steven had all the England gear back in tha day . I was jealous for sure . Lol
This is really interesting Tom! Some more brands that could make interesting content: MONX, lB|, The Runner's project, UNITED, Artysm, 2R, Franco Shade, Blow, Ucon.
Someone stole my England hoodie in high school. It didn’t end well for him. Also, I was in London one time and randomly ran into BHS while wearing and England shirt…epic day.
Fantastic! I love that some of these details I wasn't aware of. I did a lot of research into the 90s brands way back. This is amazing as it resolves a lot of solved mysteries and surprises I had.
Thanks for the kind words. It’s very tricky, finding solid information on these old rollerblading companies, which is a really shame but glad I unearthed some bits you didn’t know
Thanks so much for making this video Tom! It brought back so many memories. And it’s amazing that you were able to dig up so many of the catalog ads. I especially loved seeing those 976 ads. I remember wanting the entire line but as a teen, I was lucky if I could just get a few tees and a hoodie 😢 Great vid! And salute to all the 90’s skaters! Those days may be gone but they’ll never be forgotten!
Probably the most interesting rollerblading video of the year! A beautiful documentary, better than « barely dead »! How can you have so many informations and photos of this part of our history?? It’s amazing! This remember me when I was reading the monthly French rollerblading magazine « crazy roller » again and again and again!
Yo Woodies were the best grind plate I've ever used I remember them being good on rails, and I mean "wax replacement good" if you catch my drift That time was probably the first time for me to be in semi pro competition Great memories
I was young enough back then that I can only vaguely remember more than a few of the brands. Fifty/50, Senate and weirdly Pawn I remember the most. So this helped me remember stuff! Lol Thanks for the awesome video!
You’re speaking to my 16 year old self! A trip down memory lane. Thanks dude! I remember having a pair of Senate boxers and a USD beanie that I loved so much - def what I wore when going to ride at Mike Scott’s skatepark in St George Utah 🥲😅
@@TomMoyse Just rewatched... I had the SLAPAHOE shirt! I forgot about HARDLINE til now. Ha! Also Rise Above merch was excellent. I had a shirt with just an F- on the front too I think it was a 976 shirt. I'd rock the entire team paradise catalog to this day if I could.

Sold a lot of Heavy & Cozmo Wheels…I was the Atomic Ski & Oxygen Skate representative in Texas, and surrounding states…Heavy was made by Kryptonics but the guys behind the brand were very creative with lots of T-Shirts from the Hanna-Barbara cartoon characters.
My first setup was the original rollerblade TRS’s and Hyper wheels that were so small you could barely take turns in them without skidding out. Small enough to be anti rocker wheels but they were soft 🤷 And white scribe grind plates. Boy I miss those days
What about Late clothing brand and jelly jeans. Just remember them from the 90’s aggressive skating. Nice video though. Brought back good memories, oh and harbinger knee pads
