I've always thought the 4S was the sweet spot in the range but I would not want to spend more than $100K on a depreciating asset, especially an EV. Throw in the fact the car is massive, yet has a tiny windshield and manages to feel cramped - I was really let down. I am hoping a 4s is better but I'm not holding my breath. Avoid porsche electric like the plague🤮🤮🤮. Bought a 2020 porsche taycan turbo s with 8 k miles on it from Porsche USA.
    Taycan decided to emergency brake and electrical system failure when I was going 50 mph; almost killed me. Then it was 5 months!!!! Yes 5 months in the porsche shop. They said it was “repaired” imagine being told to keep driving like its ok after the car almost killed you. Car wasn’t repaired battery would only hold approx 70 % charge which would barely get you out of the city. Then it was at porsche shop for months. I told porsche to keep their piece of junk. It has multiple safety recalls as well including “spontaneous battery 🔥 fires.” Lmfao 🤣 180 k $ piece of garbage that depreciated to 80 k $. Now I got porsche debt collectors after me when they knowingly sold a car that has potential fatal safety issues. What a great brand you are porsche. A+

    I sold my Taycan after 5 months. Came from a 911 and was hugely disappointed in the car. Overly complex, lots of issues with the infotainment, too heavy, minimally sporty (compared to 911/718) and overall boring. It's not a Porsche to me, honestly. I have a 992 on the way and do not miss the Taycan at all. Plus the values are tanking and Porsche (US dealers) cannot sell these after the tax credit went away.

    • @davidowen2859
      @davidowen2859 Год назад +2

      @@neemayaz1113 That's not my view at all. I had a high specification Turbo S. Nice build quality, not bad looking but dreadful range in the winter (which is most of the time in the UK) and fell and still falling through the floor on values. I'm not a Porsche snob. I have a Boxster, Macan, Panamera and a 992 GTS. There is no comparison between the Taycan and 992. In the UK the dealers acknowledge that the people buying Taycans are not interested in Porsche or the heritage mainly the tax breaks that end in 2025. Porsche openly admit to having a huge problem because to be able to sell 911's they need to sell Taycans. They are also in a dilemma with the electric Macan, hence they will continue to produce the ICE version. Many of my friends went electric and most have got rid.

    So far, the Porsche Taycan is the only EV where VW got it right for over 80%. All other models fail miserably and therefore don't sell as expected. Still, this Taycan owner does not understand it is not about the car but the software and so does not talk about the software which is miserable with VW. My partner has a 5-year old Tesla Model S and still gets monthly updates. The range has been extended 16% with these updates ONLY while batteries are degrading slowly and the range should have diminished. No other EV manufacturer comes even close to that, if they have over-the-air updates at all.

      The Plaid Model S is now $46k cheaper than it was back in January. I upgraded my 2018 Model S 75D to a new Plaid. Tesla hasn't been sitting on their hands. There are so many improvements. I loved my 2018, but the new Plaid is just so much more car and for about the same price as my 2018. I was even able to transfer my free supercharging for life to the new Plaid.

      @jeffreylindley845 For driving an ICE around town you need to drive to the gas station to add gas. On the Tesla you just plug it in at home. On trips the Tesla requires some planning to limit charge time. So overall an ICE is more convenient on trips. However, with over 300 miles of range you can drive 500 miles plus per day with one stop to charge while having lunch. Then fully charge overnight and do the same the next day.

    I'm curious about the RWD Taycan. Does it feel like a RWD sports sedan when you drive it? Fun around the twisties?
    Little known about the Tesla Model 3 RWD: It's actually a fun car to drive. You can break it loose around the corners in a spirited drive. There's a certain feel that is missing with the AWD variants.
    I wonder if the Taycan is the same way.

In Germany we have to do a check of the security of the car every 2 years and the model 3 has a passing quote of 50%! in their fist check-up after 2 years. 50% are as unsave/broke to not been allowed to drive on a German road after 2 years.
