your wrong on the net zero. (just because you dont see something doesn't mean its not happening, enlarge your world to see more) your car doesn't emit but how do you think electricity is created for your car to use?? your car, when its disposed of, will cause even more environmental damage than a renewable combustible I.C.E. car. so in fact you will pollutant more than none battery cars. look it all up people!!! from digging up material for the battery, to disposable lithium batteries (this is why you not supposed to just toss cell phone and laptops into the garbage), to needing new tires way more often, to where the tires are actually leaving rubber on the roads as they disintergrate, etc....

Bad financial decision. These cars are cool but for people whose lives aren’t affected in any way if they need to replace a $50k battery that the warranty won’t cover because of a little scratch underneath, or if the car depreciates like crazy. When you have to finance 95% of the cost at 15% interest you shouldn’t buy it!

So many things wrong with this video.
    1) Your title is misleading click bait You didn’t lose 82k. You bought it used for like 102 and 3 months later the market was like 95.
    2) Any moron who buys a 102k car and increases the price 60% with 60k in options will and deserves to lose big time. Everyone knows you never get the money back on Porsche options. No book value calculator is nuanced enough to factor any of that in to pricing.
    3) buying a car then immediately comparing it to a trade in value calculator 2 months later and not expected a massive difference needs a reality check
    4) These are the first wave of high end electrics and Porsches first. Everyone was waiting to see what the Macan ev would pan out to be and what the face lift Taycan would be. The new macan ev is cheaper and has more range. The new Taycan has way more HP and 40% more range. These are all factors in play as well.
    5) Battery tech is still not well understood by most people. The LG pouch cells still don’t have a wonderful long track record like say that Samsung SDI prismatic cell in the bmw i3 that has a 10 year track record with some of the lowest degradation and very conservative cycle counts to 80%

Me and my appreciating 2009 AMG. As soon as V12's went extinct at Mercedes the SL65's gained about $10k a year from 2018. I can even borrow against the equity like a house and invest in Ai stocks. Then buy another one. A better Porsche to appreciate is the last and current 500hp 718 Boxster Spyder RS because the EV Boxster will weigh many hundreds of pounds more and feel less effective. Much better choice than the Taycan used because at some point a $42,000 battery will be necessary to restore capacity to brand new. [Like a cell phone]. It's not that it needs a new battery to operate, It's the fact that some buyers insist on original driving range after years of battery deterioration in EV's. A Boxster Spyder RS will put you back in command of the vehicle value game.

Cash buyers are also greatly affected by the market. If you have to sell a car in the current conditions, you'll take the hit. What you gain on one side, you'll loose on the other. An extra car sitting on your driveway ain't particularly a rational decision, the exception being an exclusive exotic or oldtimer, those can potentially turn out to be an investment instead of a depreciating asset.

Many buyers of high dollar vehicles are 'Business Owners',...and they often "Lease" the vehicle as Corporate Liability/Asset. The cost to lease is written off as a liability under the business (...and the vehicle is enjoyed by the driver (not owner,...as it's leased to the company) as a perk! How do I know,...because I actually negotiated a lease of a BMW 650 Convertible for a company I once worked for. The vehicle was registered to the business,...but the VP was the user/driver of said vehicle. Once the lease is over, they simply return the vehicle and start a new lease on another vehicle of their desire and the company's budget!

So, you absolutely allowed no value to the 2 years you drove and enjoyed the vehicle?! Geez just want to drive it for free huh? Typical. NEWS FLASH cars don't appreciate, so the loss you experienced is from higher interest rates, the fact that you owned, drove and got enjoyment from the car, and a new model vehicle being released each year! Luxury vehicles depreciate even faster due to parts, repair cost and dealer amenities you pay for when you go in for service. So, you didn't lose $25k, you paid $25k to drive, own and enjoy a new luxury vehicle...if that's too rich for your blood, then buy a Hyundai.
