  • Ford heater core replacement in the 1980-1996 F150 trucks are very easy and cheap to do. This video will show you how easily you can fix your own heat by replacing the Heater core. I picked up my f150 heater core for $46.99 from my local O'reilly auto parts store Part Number - 94582. It is such an easy job that there is no excuse for not having heat in your truck this winter.
    Quick answers about 1980-1996 F-150 heater cores:
    -How much does it cost to replace a heater core in a F150?
    If you do it yourself it costs around $60 including antifreeze and the heater core.
    -Is a heater core hard to replace?
    Heater cores on the older ford trucks are very simple to replace.
    -How many hours does it take to replace a heater core?
    It might take you 2 hours to replace the heater core if you factor in the time it takes to bleed the air out of the coolant system.
    -How to fix a heater core?
    I think it would be better to replace your heater core with a new one instead of trying to fix the old heater core.

    Actually one of the best repair videos I've ever seen. Direct, to the point, not a lot of 'fluff' and good editing to not waste time watching you unscrew every part. Not a video about you yourself like a lot of others. Your attitude makes me wish I didn't ever get frustrated doing this kind of stuff. I hope my replacement goes as well. Great job! Looks like you'll keep yours running as long as mine has and is going to .🤠👍👍👍

    Really good production here; straight and to the point. Mouse decided to build a house inside my truck's ducting...

    Hey Ben! I just got my grandfather's '92 XLT longbed. I've found your F150 videos helpful. Thanks!

      Yesterday I was helping a friend move and my truck decided not to start for me. It was a loose negative battery terminal. I cleaned up the battery terminals and reprogrammed my radio presets and got back to work. I only mention it because it started running a lot better afterwards. I smoked a tire accelerating away from someone who was merging into my lane. It’s been years since I smoked a tire like that. 😂 That probably means I’ve had that loose connection for years. 30 years later and the truck still has plenty of power.

      @Ben Huttash great news! Mine needs new battery terminals for sure. Looks like three generations of Wilsons have beaten on them 😉
      I'm pretty sure my truck is low on power. I'm still chasing down a couple things. It runs cold and is definitely in the Gallons per Mile range. A thermostat and catalytic liberation are planned. No tire smoking happening at this time.
      Maybe you could take an acceleration video for me to compare. I swear this thing had more power when I was 19.
      Happy new year!

    Thanks for this video. I don't need a new core right now but mine is original and I could need one any day. I think about some things that I know could need replacing due to the age of my truck and a heater core is on that list. I cringe to even think about it because I have replaced heater cores in two Ford cars and they were a lot of work. Had to dismantle the dash and many. many screws. Shops wanted around $400-$500 to do the job years ago when that was serious money. After doing one myself I understood why they charged so much. So I was glad to see that this is not that bad. Driving a 92 F150 4.9. My Dad bought it brand new and I bought it from him.

      I put this off for years thinking I would have to remove the dash and risk destroying what is left of the plastic. I made this video short and sweet mostly to show how easy it is to get the heater core.

    Brass is far superior to aluminum. Would be nice if they made quality heater cores as they are every time consuming to change

    How do I unclog the heater ducts in my 91 Ford F150 lariet, I replaced my blower motor and I am not getting any heat from it but when I was removing it I noticed a bunch of crap in my ducts

    • @victorwilson1337
      @victorwilson1337 Год назад +1

      i think you'd have to pull the dash to do that, but i'd be surprised if there was so much junk in the actual ductwork to keep your heat from working. if you can feel air coming through but it's not hot, then your heater core is blocked or the truck is running too cold (or both)

    Hey brother do you have to drain the radiator first before you unplug the hoses from the heater core

    • @superbart3000
      @superbart3000 4 месяца назад +1

      you should be able to avoid that, by using a towel to catch the spillage. Those hoses sit at the top of the engine compartment, so gravity alone shouldn't force much coolant out, as long as you do this while the engine is cold and the coolant system isn't under pressure. Probably be a good idea to set down a tarp incase if you're worried about making a mess, the mix of antifreeze and old engine gunk can stain a driveway.
