- The best excursions to visit the Mayan ruins of Chacchoben are with Tucan Tours! While we visited the cruise port of Costa Maya, Mexico, we took a tour that was customizable and intimate in size!
We loved learning all of the history of the Mayan culture and exploring the temples! After our excursion, to the ruins, we headed to Manahual beach and enjoyed an incredible beach lunch!

What is most important for you when you plan an excursion?
Enjoyable
There were four that took thet tour in 2015. They are the best tour out there.
Price was very reasonable and we even stopped and had fresh pineapple on the way back. There were a total of 6 people in our group so our guide was there to answer any questions we had.

Alanna how long was the drive to the ruins and how long were you there? Really want to have some beach time as well how was the beach? How long were you there? I saw you had lunch there so not sure if it was just a quick stop for food or actual beach time. How was the beach? Thanks for the video.

hi alanna i have a question. which ruin could be visited at any hour if you want to be alone tulum of cacchoben?
When you get off the ship how to you find the excursion meetup point? it's usually close?
When you book the excursion with the cruise line generally they meet you at the end of the pier and collect your tickets and take your to the bus. If you book on your own you generally have to meet the guides outside of the port and they will be at a designated meeting spot.
I see on the sign around marker 1:33 that its $40 for groups of people 1-5. That is for the tour once you get there right? What does it cost to take the hour car ride out there?
That was once you arrive at the ruins. However, I used www.tucancostamaya.com/tours/chacchoben andthe price included everything.
Like the smallee tours. Feel rushed when group is too big.

Hi Alanna, thanks for posting! Did you do a customized tour? I looked on their website and the beach time was separate from the Ruins time, I'd like do both.
Danielle, no we didn't do a custom tour. Perhaps they just don't have it on the website? I would shoot them an email and ask.
Did u take the excursion through NCL?
No it was not through NCL, we booked directly through the company.
@@CruisetheWorldAtoZ thank you! We have been on NCL before and we are always afraid of being left in port if it's not on one of NCL's excursions.
I'm going on my cruise next year and my concern is the same like you, afraid the ship would leave. But I think I could get a cheaper deal than through ship
