- Re-mounting the compressor on a Kalori electrik unit.
This is a 12V DC driven, 3,5 kW capacity air conditioning unit.
It is designed for utility vehicles that are not equipped with AC from factory.
It will work on construction machines connected directly on battery, but due to high current consumption the engine must be running. There are available in different compressor voltages.

Para los paneles solares, creo que es mejor usar un inversor y una casa normal AC. Podrías reemplazar el compresor de tu auto pero no lo recomiendo, también necesitarás un generador más grande para cargar la batería del auto. Los compresores de los coches eléctricos suelen funcionar con alta tensión de 200~400V. Este de 12V tiene un consumo de corriente muy elevado, unos 70 A.

What kind of tape is that called to insulate the refrigerant lines?
It used to be a corky style rubber tape but now they have changed it to a butyl tape
i also bought this type of unit in 2018
same problem faced by me that compressor kick on then suddenly kick off
This compressor is also used in other cooling units from Autoclima, I am not sure if the brand is known for you, they also had problems with the compressors but actually it is only the electronics on the top of the compressor that fails. They do offer this as a spare but I am not sure for Kalori.

The compressor failed on another unit, since we didn't have the part at that time we took it down from this new unit.
Can the car's evaporator core be installed in a home air conditioner?
Probably yes, but home AC works on different gas so you need a different txv, with a lot of AC knowledge it can be done. Is it worth it? That's the real question. There are a lot of cheap home AC's that work great out of the box and I would go with that rather than redesigning a whole unit.
@@DIYHelper Because the car evaporator is small. I made a box with MDF, put the evaporator in it and installed a fan behind the evaporator. Now the problem is that my home air conditioner is a Samsung Inverter 24,000. If the gas you mentioned is not a problem, I will install a partition house from copper pipes. Dear friend, it is possible like I told you, however you need deep AC knowledge to this. It could also be a start for problems with the main AC. Is it possible =YES, do I recommend it = NO! It is not a simple DIY work.

How much power you need for this kind of AC?
It can be as high as 80 Amps when ambient is around 38 Celsius for the 12V unit.
Hi I bought the same unit used what gauge of wire should I use
I would use 6AWG for up to 5 meters long and 4AWG if longer.
You had enough wire to double each line!
Wires were not the issue, the charger and battery could not handle the load.
@@DIYHelper e=ir if you have thin wires the r (resistance) goes up and volt drops across the wire lowering the available voltage to unit. If the voltage is lower. Power is ei so as an example, 1000 watts at 100 volts is 10 amps. If you drop voltage like above to say 90 you’ll now need 11.12 amps. I agree you still need a good supply but you are exasperating the problem with small diameter wires. You had an opportunity to remove that component of the setup.

This type of AC will run only for a short time without the engine running, the power consumption is just too big. It is not designed to run without the engine.

@@DIYHelper as dori sa te intreb, tipul asta de aer functioneaza asa...conectat la o baterie de exemplu, pt ca am observat ca are compresorul incorporat in carcasa.....dar consumul este foarte mare de 40.amp . O baterie de 200ah ar dura vreo 5h sa înțeleg. Sau este nevoie si de acea unitate de 12v care o ai lângă baterie? Multumesc. Si felicitari pt munca depusa a fost constructiva.
@@INGLETE1 Este gândită pentru mai mult pentru utilaje și se pornește doar când este pornit și motorul termic. Cel pe 12V are consum 60-80 A.
It would be better if you could get a 24 volt or higher that way the current would be lower. Consumption is the same but would permit smaller cabling.
