I literally have to pause just to sob. Finally. Finally. Someone who has walked through this and gets it. I’ve only been married a year (together for 5) and he’s in his “rebellion”. He didn’t grow up in the church and neither did I but now more than ever he is resisting anything Jesus related. This spoke so clearly to my spirit and I feel such comfort. Letting go is so freeing. Thank you for sharing your testimony, God really did speak through you to me. Please pray for me to go back to my first love Jesus and keep my eyes on Him no matter how hard it gets. This is 💯 on point! After giving my heart to Christ I went through something very similar as my husband became so angry that I was changing so much as I grew in Christ. I started standing my ground in love and refusing to participate in ungodly things and I started to show him even more love when he would say mean awful things. As I set a Christ like example in my home and turned to prayer and studying Gods word and meditating on it day and night I started to see a big change in my marriage. God is truly faithful and tho my husband isn’t serving Christ yet he is very very close and even went to church with me to see me get baptized and now respects my prayer time as I kneel every night at my bedside and my husband has even now started asking questions about the Bible and I finally had an opportunity to open my Bible and show him how to read it ( he didn’t know what the books and chapters and verses worked in reading it. He’s brand new to this and I can see The Holy Spirit directing him and softening his heart). I don’t do anything except let Gods light shine brightly from within me and pray diligently for both my husband and my daughters salvation. Both of whom are showing signs of God working in their hearts. God is so Good!✝️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I used to think was as the only one that was going through this. I said to myself before watching this that I would do whatever advice you give. So now I am equipped. I became a born again believer 4 years ago and my husband is still not there. In fact, he doesn't even go to church at all. I even stopped and almost lost hope. And then I came across this video. It is like I had RUclips for this video only. Thank you. This is incredible. You have to have gone through this or be going through this to understand just how difficult it is. But God.

I would hate to have a religious wife...
I used to feel like my husband and I were "unequally yoked". In other words, I felt spiritually superior to him. I wanted him to lead, but I had no concept of submission. I felt like he had to be good enough first, then I would be willing to submit. As it turns out, most of what I thought I knew about scripture was wrong. I grew up in an unbiblical church. God opened my eyes to all of that and over the last few years, we've been studying the Bible and growing together in our God-given roles.

This. My behavior says a lot to my family and once I started behaving biblically, they soon followed.
My story is similar. Once I took my hands off of it and realized it’s not my job to be his Holy Spirit and trusted God to get to His son. I focused on my relationship with the Lord and my husband is coming around. Slowly but surely.
Yes, I am so tired of being my husband's Holy Spirit. He claims he's Christian but it's like he has no conscience! I know all the verses about how I should be but just don't know how to execute what I know.
Can I ask all of you sisters in Christ, please pray for my husband (BB). The doc gave him a few weeks left, stage 4 cancer. He needs Jesus. I have gone thru from A-Z just as the wonderful woman talks about in the video. Had small breakthrough last month, back to rejection. I can't fathom him dieing in his sins! This is in God's hands. Need prayer warriors. A soul hangs in the balance. 🙏🙏🙏

Yep! I can relate. When Christ took ahold of me and I started reading my Bible my husband told me this was going to be the end of our relationship. And after a few years he became a follower of Christ. And now 8 years later we both live everyday for the Lord. Greatest blessing ever. Raising our 3 boys to love Jesus! Thank you

I struggle so much coming from church feeling so uplifted and I feel such a heavy sick feeling of him saying im forcing to put him in a box that he doesn’t want to be in. I try and just give to God and focus on my relationship and my walk with God. When I’m home alone and he’s out with friends I feel alone and so heavy hearted and cry. I asked in church to pray for my husband. He says he will go to church for me I tell him I want him to go because he wants to. I need help and guidance, our 10 year marriage is hurting.
Please join me in praying for my husband, Andrew. He was raised in a very legalistic church and was severely abused by his parents as a child. He also was an active combat vet during the war in Iraq and struggles with PTSD, which he self-medicates with alcohol and weed. He has such a good heart, but he has so much underlying pain that it is hard for him to understand the concept of God's grace.
We´ve had a life changing few months and a lot of tough things happening and in the middle of all this chaos my husband got saved! It´s a miracle. He started reading the bible without my knowledge and came to me and asked me to teach him to pray. I was chocked to say the least. Now we are finally on the same page and we can share our faith and that is the best feeling ever. Thank you Jesus!

I'm tired of the wait. He's on auto pilot. Could care less if we go to church or not. Only cares about his fleshly desires. I feel single, spiritually. The only time he prayed daily, on his knees was when i wanted a divorce. I was literally checked out. God opened my eyes and brought me out of my hopeless mindset. Now, all i can think is why does it take a tramatic event for him to seek the Lord. I NEED a leader. I fear what God may allow to get his attention again. Not a divorse but what about a health concern . Pray for my husband and for me. He knows better than he's doing.

Everything you describe is my marriage. He professes to be a Christian, but no fruit. 15 yrs of trying different things, ways, prayers and to be honest, it just keeps getting worse. Now the main arguments are about him wanting the kids and I to partake in things that are not godly, that are very worldly (sometimes demonic). We say “no thank you” and he gets very angry. I’ve just been trying to keep the peace when he is home; sometimes it goes well, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s very exhausting. I’ve been praying for so long for a change in my husband’s heart, for him to submit to the Lord and follow Christ with his whole heart. I won’t give up praying for him. God is good, no matter my circumstances. He is faithful and always provides my needs. Prayers from any of the ladies here would be most appreciated! Thank you for this video! Such wisdom because it is the word of God. It might be good to remind the ladies of this sometimes. More broken homes could be prevented. We don’t always get instant answers to prayers. We have to do our part of putting God first and grow in our own maturity in Him. Thank you.
There is this Christian movie that is like C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters. This movie is called Nefarious which is about a demon possessed death row inmate that is having a psychological evaluation from an atheist. The demon in the prisoner brags about how the atheist has fallen for his schemes. This might wake your husband up.

❤ I will put your family in my prayers. My husband also is struggling right now with being fruitful and having conviction. Sometimes he will play media that is very awful and seems demonic for sure ..and I don't like it in front of the kids. Let alone asking them to engage...would be infuriating. But letting rage take the wheel isn't ok I know. Hard situation. Keep strong.

I pray every day that God will help me be the wife Peter tells us to be and almost every day I fail miserably. You said quit letting our husbands hurt us and I believe that is key. Same applies to our children. We instruct them, but the biggest impact we have is through our prayers and example.

I've been a believer in Jesus Christ since 1986. Everyone has their own spiritual journey that they are on. My wife of 28 years left me and my children after using the "I don't see any real spiritual fruit in your life..." argument to allege that I wasn't in fact a true follower of Christ and she believed she had to leave in order to not be unequally yoked. At the time my grown children even took her side. 16 months later and she's an "out and proud" lesbian who dates women. But it's too late. My life and all that I worked to establish as a family is destroyed. Be very careful about how you "observe" spiritual fruit in other people's lives. You don't know as much as you think you do when you judge a person using that spiritual fruit metric.
I’m so sorry this happened to you. My husband is a true non-believer, calls himself an atheist now, but I’m not leaving him and we met and married in church. It’s a difficult situation but I’m not even thinking of that bc I love him and our family. Your wife had other plans that had nothing to do with your spirituality. I just want to encourage you that your life is not destroyed. Don’t give up. Walk by faith and trust God that everything works out for your good. You can continue to build your family, even without your beloved wife. Turn that energy to continue nurturing your children and build the trust and loving relationship with them. I know you are hurting right now but you will get through it a stronger person and father for yourself and children. I will be praying for your strength and encouragement from the Lord.

Im slowly learning how to be Biblical wife and my husband and I have never been happier. He is growing into his leader role so well. He still doesnt come with me to church even though I go every Sunday. He recently told me that with everything going on in the political climate and seeing how insane everyone has gotten, he is starting to believe that the Bible is true and Christianity is the worlds truest religion. Hes coming around, all I can do is pray and let the Lord shine through me without words.

I hope you see this as this video was posted 5 months ago, but God knew i needed to see it now. Our marriage is just coming out of a major crisis and will take a long time to heal. Honestly, my husband is in full blown rebellion right now- trying to prove a point that I will never be able to change him! I love your story! This is so encouraging and reaffirming the things God has been showing me as well. I have a long story - my husband and I used to lead worship and prayer nights and soon after getting married- he walked away from everything and I felt like “wait! This isn’t what I signed up for?!” But God has had an amazing plan! It’s been 11 years and we are still a work in progress but suddenly he’s been coming to church. There is SO much to the story but there’s been a break through. So if you are in the thick of this- don’t give up! I SO relate to this story!
Trust the Lord.
Two things God really showed me was to share an venerable heart to my husband and submit to my husband (out of worship to the Lord) and pray! Our Lord is trustworthy and good!
My husband divorced me almost 8 years ago after he got caught having an adulterous affair with a woman at woek. I was a baby Christian at that time and tried to fo everything I could to save the marriage. I have grown up so much spiritually. I realize only God can xhange his heart. I continue to pray for his salvation and our reconciliation. I am committed to standing for him and our marriage until death do us part.
1 Corinthians 7
13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
God untethered you from this man by His grace! He allowed for his sin to expose him and lead to the only biblical grounds for divorce. You can ask the Lord for a believing husband and marry him without being in adultery.
Amen. I'm in the same boat as you. I've grown so much as a believer. Hubby is in God's hands. And God hates divorce. I'm trusting God to change him. As long as they are alive God is at work 😂. Till death do us part. Stay strong and hold on to God. His timing is perfect. I'm standing by you sis ❤
I am in this situation and thank you soo much for the encouragement. Married for 2 years with a 5 month old beautiful son and my husband recently shared with me that he no longer believes in God, Jesus and the Bible. I have cried several times and feel so lust as I tried discussing this with him. After reading 1Peter3 and listening to you and others and a completely leaving it in God’s hands and trusting HIM with everything, I feel some peace and I will love and submit to my husband and work on myself to be that vessel that the lord will use. My husband and I go up and down. I’ve been called many names by my husband,Jehovah Witness, a Nazi Christian, and have just felt so hurt, because I wouldn’t allow our son to watch what he was watching. What you said about in Ephesians chapter 6 that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. I have literally seen this.
I need to submit FULLY but I’m terrified, because I’ve told my husband that I need my alone time with the Lord, and where I can’t get comfort from my husband I only find from God.
Please keep praying sister, my husband and I have a son who is autistic and I’m trying to homeschool him with an online Christian School (his second year) and I’m struggling.
I don’t know how to juggle being a teacher, a mom, and a wife but stepping away and not overwhelming myself. 🥺🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Good stuff, Heidi! I have found this to be true in my own marriage. Also, when I am busy nagging and manipulating and complaining trying to control, I do not experience God’s peace. When I work on fully trusting in God and letting go of that control, that’s when I have His peace.

I want to thank you for this video. I've had a relationship with Christ since age 16. I'm now 27. I graduated from a Bible college with a Bible degree. I know what the Word says and I know who Christ is. It's safe to say that I "know" what I'm supposed to be doing as a wife to help bring my husband to Christ. But my emotions and need for control rule over all else. I've recently started in this journey of giving God the controls and simply trusting in Him that He will bring my husband truly to His side. I'm by no means great at this yet - being the wife and mother God's called me to be - I fail almost daily. This requires a new level of focus and submission to Christ than I've ever had before. I'm glad to say that I'm not trying like I used to... instead I'm learning to fully trust Him. Again thank you for this video; it's the encouragement I needed to hear today to keep me fueled for this journey, this gift of marriage God has given us.

Great video! And wanted to point out that you did the right thing by not nagging, but you also stood up and spoke the truth in love by setting boundaries which is a good thing. Alot of churches give Christian wives wrong advice that enable evil to continue. The Lord never nagged people to follow Him, but He did speak the truth in love and set clear boundaries! Thank you. Needed this reminder. Husband is divorcing me and this week is first meeting in courts and first time seeing each other shy of two years.
Still, this is wonderful reminder to continue this. I was getting bogged down by the harsh realities that come with divorce. While faithfully walking with God, I asked him to speak again. This was clear guidance from God.
Just continue to be still, dont push my own beliefs, and let God do the changing. In this video, the marriage won, it appears mine has failed, but, I trust my life in God’s hands.❤

This has truly been encouraging. I’m leaning into spending intentional time with God and my 2.5 year old daughter does it with me. My husband has been doing Bible studies more consistently but I can see and feel the enemy pushing and tempting him back to old habits and ideas. It’s so discouraging and it’s hard not to throw up my hands or weep that anything will ever change. I trust in Gods timing and could use prayers to have a patient heart while He works on my husband.

Everything you shared is true! It took my husband 25 years to come the point of professing to be a Christian! But guess what? After another 25 years he is not showing fruit or growing! But I came to the point of not listening with “his” ears and telling God “oh, Lord! He so needs to hear this! Now I listen with my own ears! I focus on my spiritual growth! Being intimate with my Lord and my obedience is what Jesus wants from me right now and my efforts to live a Christlike life may impact my husband someday. Thank you for your teaching, Heidi! I too, had to learn by myself but God is faithful and I am still hopeful!
Wow this is what I do ... Listening with" his" ears, always searching for something to lead him to Christ. Thank you for the conviction, that I need to stop doing that and listen with my own ears and focus on my own relationship with Christ.
God was also testing and refining you during your arguments after you had surrendered your husband to the Lord. I’m sure there was a time when you learned to give a soft answer rather than reacting in anger while also setting boundaries and being a good example.

I needed this reminder to just focus on the Lord, His word, and pray! I have been praying about this every day!!!! I spoke to an older lady at church and she told me this also. We are now praying together at every service for salvation for my husband and family and for her family. What a blessing this message was today, thank you!

Been struggling so much with a husband who has one foot in christ one in the world and is still only a few years in the faith. I pray daily for the distractions of the world to leave him and for him to become the true spiritual leader of our home. As soon as I especially started praying for our marriage the enemy came in like a flood. Its so hard when unbelievably hurtful things are said and done on both sides in arguments and it feels so awful. But am fully aware of the enemy trying to get to me through my emotions. Each day is a battle. But I know I need to keep going trust God and persevere!

Years of guilting him to come and having fights about it or him using it to his advantage bc he knew I'd do anything to have him come. Then one day, I stopped. I'd ask before leaving but no manipulation or guilt.
I found a book 30 days of praying for your husband and I did it. Not please God send him to church... I wanted a conviction 😊 It was praying for his day and how God could lead him. 10 months and 15 days he started wanting to come with us. A year later he did a purpose class with me. Now hes planning a missions trip. He's not completely out of the devil's cluches but the Lord is patient and I pray.
the key word in that verse is "Respectful", a respectful woman would not be arguing and fighting with her husbanc

Wow, this was the first video I've watched on your channel. I can so relate. Only thing is that I haven't gotten on the other side yet. We will have been married 33 years next month. Recently (since last spring) I got to the place of focusing on me. I still have a ways to go before I can overlook my frustration and pain. I try, but can still be triggered. I can see how it can work (the Peter verses) it is just doing it that is hard. I'm spending lots of time with the Lord, studying my Bible and memorizing scripture. I know that I have to have the Lord's help. But I am still in the struggle part and pretty worn down. I think i may have strongholds that need to come down. Your video encouraged me. Please pray for me to be successful in being Christlike and that my husband would put the Lord first in his life. It occurred to me this week that to develop the fruit of the Spirit I might need to be put in situations (my marriage) where I get to practice being kind, loving, patient, etc. This is my opportunity to display that fruit. Again, it's mostly in my head and not being applied.😊
You've said, this isn't the best thing to put out there, I disagree. There are probably so many Christian women out there and listening to you going through that very same thing. We need to do exactly like you said to make sure we are living for the Lord and let God do the work to change him. We must set the example, obey God and let him take care of the rest.
Love your testimony. This applies to all those people in our lives. Parents, siblings, friends, etc.
Our focus should be on our relationship and growing in Christ. God can change hearts and minds!
As a single mom with adhd, I get upset with myself when I don’t keep up. I make things harder for myself honestly when I don’t. It’s so easy to get overwhelmed. Thank you for making videos like this. None of us can keep it together every minute of the day. I pray that God helps us all get through this life and gives us the strength to have discipline and grace.

Asking for prayers for my unbelieving husband. Hes actually so far, to say Jesus usnt God. Believes all paths lead to God, and he actually says "he wouldnt even want to live for an eternity" im so tired. Its confusing the kids, i feel so alone.
Definitely will pray. Same over here, except no kids involved. I couldn't even imagine what they must be going through, but I have faith in God for them and I pray they hold fast to Christ and that your husband comes to Christ as well. Mine has gone from agnostic to atheist in the last year. Mostly only fight about it when he's drinking too much. At least he's toned down the drinking a bit. But, it makes me want to not have children at all because too many children are suffering from the lack of Godly leadership in the home. And I earnestly pray for your children's protection and strength against the devil's schemes and false doctrine that your husband is bringing into the home. But, praise God they have a mother after God's own heart in Christ Jesus to look up to and to pray over and with them 🙏🤍🌼 I grew up with both my parents being atheists (who are still to this day 34 years of my life), but I still chose eternal life through the blood of Jesus 🙏🤍 faith, hope, charity, and prayer stand strong.
Heidi, I’m dealing with this right now, boy it hurts and is straining… I’m not giving in though and I’m going to push even hard in my relationship with the LORD… My husband is a believer, but there is NO FRUIT! But just like you said as long as he’s still alive GOD can change his heart and I’m excited and patiently waiting for that day while I continue to pour into the LORD for myself and our family… Thank you Heidi for your videos, they are so encouraging and biblically sound and have helped me in my walk tremendously… You truly are like a big sister in Christ (Titus 2:3-5) helping the younger wives to love their husbands/children… So thank you!

What refreshing advice this is. It’s not easy but Christ will enable as you trust Him. I think it’s also important to be honest with yourself and your husband. He does need to know that you need him in the role of godly protector as only he can fill. It’s his purpose, but in gentle, patient and respectful ways. With gratitude and thankfulness for who he is. And of course pray!
Being a virtuous woman will impact more than just your husband. “Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14 The presence of the Lord in a trusting holy woman is the devil’s worst nightmare!

Wow! This was amazing and so important. I also have been with my husband since high school. I got saved when I was 21 an we jus had our second daughter. And I remeber how hard our life got and how satan used that. My husband is not saved yet and I know I have´nt been living my life as I should either. But I still believe. Okay I just had I don’t know what you caught like an Epiphany moment not even joking. I have been leaning more towards the Bible and God and etc. trying to learn how to pray the whole 9 yards because I always consider myself a Christian but you know like a warm water Christian, like nothing serious at all never took it serious. Last night I didn’t fall this girl on TikTok and she’s just recently had this awakening. I guess you could say to Christ and at first I thought it was kind of silly. Then I started watching her stuff and it was like I was meant to be watching it, weirdest feeling in the world. Last night video popped up from her TikTok talking about Peter 3 verse 1-2. So I listen to the video because my husbands not necessarily making the smartest choices or acting in the best way. Kind of how you were describing your husband so I seen her TikTok and it kind of sparked the interest so I’m now in here actually Bible journaling right now in first Peter, listening to your video in the background and then you just said the same Bible verse that she said last night. That was like a hit in the face moment, because what is the coincidence that I would run into both of you women referencing the same verse in less than 12 hours. God is speaking to me and I’ve been praying about it a lot lately. I have goosebumps right now.. all I can say is wow I am totally mind blown. 17:27

I was equally yoked I’ve been married for 24 years in 2018. My husband decided not to be a Christian anymore. What happened? he hid behind the church. I am going through hell and I can’t wait to get out. how? he serve me with divorce papers. the only thing they were missing was a bow on a ribbon: straight from the heart.
My husband shuts down when I say Jesus and God. He says that I should call him by name (Yahweh) so I can’t talk to him about anything I read in the Bible even though I read it every day.

I needed to hear this message!! Our stories have many parallels. My husband has turned a little more into a believer the last couple of years, but I can not get him to go to church with me. I have prayed for him, but I have not fully given it to the Lord. I want him to lead our family in God's way, but I also struggle with being the submissive wife because I did not grow up living in God's word. I am growing in my faith and knowledge, have been going to church for a couple of years, and was baptized in 2022. I notice the closer I get to the Lord and exhibit that in my life, Satan comes in with a fury. Thank you for your story and words of encouragement! It was wonderful to hear him say that after reading the word of God, he was going to be where Jesus wanted him to be . Wow

I’m so confused about submission right now. I don’t have an unbelieving husband, but he’s recently blaming me for all sorts of things he said I didn’t submit to even though he gave me permission to do them, when he didn’t want to continue to argue over them. I’ve given in way more these days than in the past, but I’m really struggling when it comes to letting him tell me what I can and can’t do with my own body (having been through trauma in the past, there is a block I can’t get past). I don’t trust his judgment. One example is carnivore diet. Ironically, I found out about carnivore through this channel, but he is so unsupportive of me trying it out for myself even though I’m really confident it is helping me. It’s not a matter of obedience to scripture or not to stick with carnivore, so it seems right to submit to husband about it, but feels like an assault on my own body. These types of things get me so confused. Husband also thinks social media has ruined me, even though sometimes it’s the only place I feel understood. I just feel like there’s no one to talk to about all of this confusion. I don’t trust doctors, therapists, friends, family, church leaders or my husband, so it’s almost exclusively a private struggle in prayer and searching for videos, blogs etc. on these subjects.
