I am confused about the strokes per minute. The smaller cordless has more than the larger one by a lot. I use the Akkurata for matted coats and it is awesome. Will the Durati be better or not since it has to so much less strokes per minute.
Hi, thanks for your comment. The Akkurata does have a higher strokes per minute, however the Durati is much larger in size and you can cover more ground quicker. For it's size, it has a great strokes per minute! If you're doing smaller dogs, then the akkurata may work well, but if you're tackling a larger dog, the durati is longer lasting and you'll get more done quicker with this
Thanks for your advice on matted coats. My rescue Shih Tzu just won't do full size A5 clippers anymore. So I need powerful trimmers to get through his grooms.
I’ve had my Aesculap Isis for about a year and when I came to use it to clip my cat yesterday, the clipper hadn’t charged. The clipper unit was working but only minimally because it hadn’t charged. When I checked the unit, the LED light wasn’t displaying. The base unit doesn’t seem to be functioning. I’ve checked the internal components and the wires are secured & soldered. The connecting trigger springs for the clipper base are secure and moving freely. I purchased them direct from Germany, so returning them for repair isn’t an option due to postal costs. Can you advise me on what else I should be checking? Many thanks Beverley 🙂

Hello, Which cordless trimmer would you recommend for long haired Persian Himalayan cats? & Which trimmers come equipped with the correct blade sizes specifically for cats? I know the no10 blade is for cats, Can you suggest any other cat blade sizes? I would love to see more cat grooming videos on your channel, Dog's are easy lol
Hi, most of our clippers come with a 10 blade. The Heiniger Saphir's are a good cordless option and also you can buy them with a 9 piece comb attachment kit, If you want a longer cut. The Wahl KM10 is a really fantastic, lightweight clipper that also comes with a 10 blade and you can get a cordless or corded version too. But as I said most of our clippers come with a 10 blade, so it really depends on whether you need something lightweight, something more durable etc.
Most trimmers will cut to a length of 0.5mm, and for the 10blade length it needs to be 2cm, so buying an adjustable one that allows you to adjust the length would be best. The Aesculap Exacta trimmer does this and so does many Wahl trimmers. As for Himalayan Cats, it genuinely would depend on the length you would want to cut it down to. Because it's long haired and textured, clipping may not be the best option. Using a scissor to cut down and then thinners may be the best bet to retain it's texture coat.
