Spectacular! Loved the shots of the 3700s wheel slipping startup of the Special! So realistic, and they both did it on the same section of track! How'd you do that? A little strategic oil on the rails? However done, the effect was so cool!
8:09 This is an impressive layout and an impressive look back in time to the age of steam on the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway I didn’t know the Santa Fe had 2-8-4 Berkshire type locomotives
They had fifteen, 4101 - 4115, mostly assigned to the Missouri - Kansas area. Not an advanced design like a NKP or C&O 2-8-4, but as one engineer said "You should see what a 4101 would do on the Missouri Division"! Also, James Burke recalls hitting 70 aboard one in Kansas! (They also bought a dozen from the B&M during WW2, didn't use but one).
This layout is in a hobby shop, so all rolling stock goes home after the day's session. New rolling stock is brought in for each session, every two or three weeks.
Fabulous double heading action! Didn't realize AT&SF had Berks, who knew? I learn something new every time I watch your channel. Well done!
Thank you!

Thank you. Both engines are controlled individually, so one can accelerate while the other doesn't. This causes one to slip.
As good as it gets, happy new year.
Thank you, and Happy New Year to you too!

@@warrenfrost6033 wow that’s very cool
Nice! Where did you get the lighted drumhead?
Tomar makes them. They come as a simple kit.
How long does it take to change from NYC to Santa Fe?

That still sounds like a lot of work. It does look really good. keep it up.@@warrenfrost6033
Correct color markers on caboose.
Yellow and red, same as the NYC.
