That's the entire point of the music and game play. As long as you stay hidden, the music keeps playing. You only lose your relaxing music when things are about to get tense.
Edit: It's actually part of the mechanics; if the music stops playing, that means you're not in a safe position to be staying wherever you are.

I love the time leading up to the familiarity of the Eterna theme. Holding back before jumping into the recognizable part might not seem like a big deal, but it effectively allows players to enter the forest and experience it for themselves before being reminded where exactly they are. When I first heard this song in game, I had just discovered the mossy rock. Right as I was thinking, “Wait, is this where I think it is?” I was met with that classic Eterna Forest theme, and I realized that this game really was in a league of its own.

When I first heard this in the the game, I froze for a moment, and this overwhelming feeling of nostalgia came over me. I closed my eyes and a memory appeared in my mind, 14 years ago, of me playing Pokémon Platinum with my brothers, and not having a care in the world. Tears streaking down my face I just sat there, eyes closed, letting the emotions hit me, wave after wave. I am 24 now, tired, sad, unsure of my goals, but Pokémon will always bring out my inner child, and it will always keep me grounded in a world where choices and sacrifices must be made every single day. It is my sweet escape, my muse, what keeps me going when all else feels hopeless. I must sound pathetic but Pokémon got me through the toughest of times, and I'm sure it has done the same for others.

The day Diamond came out I made it to Eterna Forest, falling asleep under the covers with my earbuds in and this theme playing. It's not the best Pokemon game, and other ones have better overall soundtracks IMO, but its environment themes are unmatched. This, the Lakes, and Mt Coronet's theme help that game really feel like a proper journey. All that helped me get through the end of a pretty shitty school year.
I stopped playing Pokemon between X/Y and Sun/Moon since I didn't like X and got fed up with my 13th Pokemon tutorial starting Moon... It was disappointing, since it was my favorite series before that. But I saw people really praising PLA, so I gave it a try. I was cautiously enjoying the game, but the second I recognized that piano riff it broke me and swept me back to 2006.
Pokemon music is always good, but what a brilliant way to tell you where you are, and what an excellent fucking experience this whole game is. I hope Scarlet/Violet have as much love poured in.
