It is one payment you just have to make the payment over and over. I hate payments!!! I do not use every tool over and over...I may go 2 months without using a tool so I feel like I am wating my money... much like a Costco Membership when you live 50 miles away fromthe nearest store.
Solid comparison? This was my response: " 12:20 Luminar wins that one? You gotta be kidding. Yes, it's sharper than Photoshop, but look at the reflection, it's totally wrong! Compare that with the Photoshop version. Or search on Google Images for reflection castle in lake if you're not convinced. Why are you making such a video, when you lack such basic skills to understand how flawed that Luminar image is?"
Not a fair comparison, you used the online function to remove stuff on Luminar whereas on Ps you used the offline remove tool, you can also use generative fill in Ps to remove stuff and get much better results.
Can you explain the process of purchasing? From what I can understand, Luminar Neo can be purchased as a subscription or lifetime access, Lifetime only offers 1 year of generative AI. Does the subscription include access to AI as long as you are paying? Also, how does it work for Adobe?
Yes I would say it works like you're saying. But best to check the Luminar website or contact their customer support to get the most accurate and up to date information. It works with Adobe as in you can edit in Luminar , then transfer that edit to Lightroom or Photoshop and back again. Or vice versa. Similar to the "Edit in Photoshop" function in Lightroom if you've used that.
Nice comparison... perhaps if you would bring a little light on a price comparison where adobe recently add some thing called : Generative credits - in which you have a limited amount of quota every month. Every time you use generative fill.. it will keep deducting from that allocated quota.. I don't know if this is the case in Luminar Neo.. Genswap / Generase ... If possible ...Please share your views regarding this... it will definitely assist...
Bad thing about luminar it’s if you wants to purchase full license it will let you use 1 year of AI generative only. So at the end it’s almost like you forced to subscribe like photoshop
Thank you for this video this is something I plan on doing so to see them compared to each other was great.. Iv never used either before so for a novice L N looks the easiest to use to remove stuff I could be totally wrong though
Glad you enjoyed the video! Luminar is definitely a great application for anyone new to photo editing. Both have their pros and cons though I would say! 👍
The last picture I think is still better done with PS, because the reflections generated by Luminar do not match the buildings and plants on the ground. Regarding the resolution limitations of AI generation, PS can use some plugins to achieve sectional generation, greatly improving the resolution. Luminar might not be able to achieve this yet.
Could we have the noise reduction from photo AI, enhancements from Luminar Neo, the ease of use and ownership license from topaz ai, the trustworthy of photoshop, and the speed of development from Luminar neo, in ONE application? Please put some hacker on it :P
Hmm I loved the video however I must say I am bit worried of bias too, considering in the video description you have a promo code and discount offer for luminar, are you sponsored? Did you pay for the software? I think it’s good to be very transparent. Also you picked the luminar version as the better for the reflective lake however the church is cut off in the reflection whereas the photoshop one is not. So seems a bit strange. Not trying to be a troll, just wanted to share my observations.
This video is not sponsored nor does Luminar tell me what to say. Everything in the video is my own opinion. At the end I clearly also state the pros and cons of each software, where PS overall takes the win. The discount is provided to me by Luminar but at no obligation to say this or that. Regarding the church, I just had a look, and you are correct there! However, I choose Luminar there mainly due to the higher resolution. Anyway, when Luminar released this software I just wanted to compare it to Luminar and that is this video! I hope this clarifies things for you 👍😄
well when i got to 430 and you made the Luminar deal, you defeated your own comparison test because you're biased toward Luminar. You also responded to the changes on some of these pictures so fast i almost feel like you mightve prerecorded your work in both engines and just responded to what you knew was coming. still i guess it's good to see both in action, but i'll keep shopping around.
all the shadows are totally off in the "swap" examples. Neither is good enough...yet. On another hand, I find the remove tool pretty impressive on both
i hate about ps generated fill is the ai using the color of original photo and generate the new thing . that is why you only getting white blossom tree
I love luminar neo but the lake edit was missing a piece of the tree and also missing a piece of the house. At least photoshop had most of the picture in the reflection.
Your results are absolutely astonishing!! Especially since literally NO ONE, myself included, can even get close to these outputs! Neo has been a complete and unequivocal failure IMO and to many thousands who've bought into this. Really hoping their updated algorithms beyond 1.16.1 get much, much better.
Don't forget, that Adobe can ONLY be rented - like a slave, you're paying over and over. Rental is the foundation of slavery. Luminar also does the rental track, but if you pay attention, you can purchase the program, and with some patience, you can purchase other components/features as well, instead of renting.
Neo lists PS and LR as able to use as plugin. True, but with on BIG omision. The Gen* AI tool are NOT available as a plugin. These are the main reason I purchased Neo. This information is not readily made available. I found it in one web page after over an hour of googling. Left a very bad taste in my mouth and wondering if Neo is very legitimate.
It might be better than PS in some cases, but the versatility of Photoshop is unbeatable, because you can basically do everything in one workspace. The fact that you need to purchase and use a completely separate, standalone app just to do this one thing is kinda meh.
Well, Luminar Neo does has all the photo editing capabilities you could need. So it does a whole lot more than just these generative things. However, at the moment you have to use the generative tools in a seperate workflow within the Luminar app.
I'm just running the same image through both these softwares and sharing my findings. I'm clearly stating at the end the pros and cons of both. So not selling Luminar to anyone here.
I am comparing the remove tool to the erase tool, which are supposed to do the same thing. Not biased, just a test of both tools. I'm not saying what is the best tool for what job.
Totally biased towards Luminar. You said you're comparing AI but instead of using generative fill on Photoshop you're using remove tool. It is like comparing someone's running speed with speed of a car. 😂
I compare Luminars Erase tool with Photoshops Remove tool, which are supposed to do the same thing. I also compare Luminars Swap with Photoshops Gen Fill, which are also suppposed to do the same thing. I also edit the same photo with both tools in both softwares. Perhaps you havent watched the entire video my friend?
@@SightseeingStan I genuinely appreciate the efforts you took to make the video. I know it takes a long time and extensive research to make a RUclips video. But the title you kept is misleading. Trust me you should modify the title and you'll get less dislikes and negative comments. Once you read this I'll delete my comment because I don't want to disrespect your efforts.
Neo having the option for a one time payment is all needed to that the leap!
Luminar neo generative fill is in the one time puchrase?
THIS, it's very rare nowadays. Instant purchase for me
Yes, but only 1 year access to AI features.

Solid comparison. Just purchased and ran my own couple tests the other day luminar neo and have been satisfied with the results so far
Nice! Glad the video was helpful 👍

At the moment Luminar does not have this credits system. No idea if this would change in the future. But definitely a good point! 👍

No question ask , Hand down to Luminar Neo. The new King on the block. Simple and easy with impeccable result. No sweat!

Glad you liked it!
10:08 the house is not the same
Does it work without internet connection?
No I don't think any generative AI does unfortunately
@@SightseeingStanactually there is one: Krita

in my opinion the removal of the lens flare is in both versions not perfect.
Fair enough! Which one was better though?
what version u using of luminar?
It's the latest version 1.16.0

the relflected part is actually ps work better just by looking refection ps added. it more accturate than luminar neo

This feels like such a poorly acted ad. The "what the heck" reactions lacked the genuineness one would expect.
After experimenting with this in PS, some of the results are incredible and others are completely ludicrous and don't match what you ask for.

You saw the results for yourself which one was better…….
Indeed, this thoroughly was a poorly acted ad.
It would be interesting to see an unbiased review! The fact that you are flogging Luminar Neo doesn't instil confidence I'm afraid.
