    I thought the 2204A wasn't supposed to work with Picoscope Auto software. How are you lining up crank angles with the cursors at 10:30 or am I wrong in assuming that that feature is only available in Picoscope auto?

    • @TheGibby3340
      @TheGibby3340  10 месяцев назад +1

      No you’re not wrong. Somewhere along the line they limited some of the features. I can’t really speak to the issue now, as I stupidly sold my 2204A years ago. Thx for watching. 🍻

    Just saw your videos (1 & 2), great demonstration. I also have both scopes. Bought a Pico 2205A first and was disappointed to learn that it is not supported on PicoScope 6 or 7 Automotive. However you just demonstrated that automotive signals are able to be read from any scope. Fyi, Pico 6 & 7 do have guided tests that are very helpful showing how to connect (either) your scope. Thanks for the videos.

      Thx you Sir. I am not big on automotive presets. So long as yer not dealing with an injector or ignition trace. 20V & 20msec work for there….Cheers 👍

    since you using hantek1008c i got a question when and what are the output pins on hantek 1008c at the back i would like to test tachometer on my boat v8 gas engine without running the engine bench test tach has 3 wires 12v dc plus signal can i use output pin for freq signal and which that would be engine is not running yet thanks paul

    • @TheGibby3340

      Honestly I have never used that facility on the 1008. However, in reading the manual it appears there is 8ch (D0-D7)square wave generation capacity. Some parameters are adjustable. Output level is LVTTL, Frequency 0-250KHz as stated in the manual. Thx for watching 🍻

    Does the Hantek have the RULER function? Seems very useful for working out timing issues etc.

    • @TheGibby3340
      @TheGibby3340  10 месяцев назад +1

      Similar…Hantek utilizes a measure function which can be used to manually measure X or Y axis parameters. 🍻

    Hi Great channel for us hobbyists. I found your channel via Dave Sterl as I have had a Hantek 1008 scope for years and found out the cheaper Picos work well on automotive applications so got myself a 2204A. Watched a number of your vids and have found them very very useful. You deserve more subscribers and I will recommend your channel whenever I can. Rob (UK).

    I've watched a few of your videos. I understand that the 2 channel picoscope software is superior when it comes to general scope functionality. Have you tested any of the more advanced automotive functionality (such as signal generation) on the hantek? If so, do you think those functions make the hantek more useful for troubleshooting, or would you still recommend the 2 channel pico over the hantek?

    • @TheGibby3340
      @TheGibby3340  3 года назад

      Pico scope is a far more capable tool. The 1008 remains unbeatable value if multiple channel capacity is important to you. They both have a place IMO. Signal gen function on the 1008 is fixed frequency & amplitude very limited utility. I have multiple videos on both in the back catalogue. Cheers 👍

    Hi I just wanted to say I like your channel and always look forward to new videos. I haven't bought a scope yet and wanted to ask how the hantek 1008c performs with 4 or more channels at same time? Thanks Mike

    • @TheGibby3340
      @TheGibby3340  4 года назад

      Michael Fannin Thank you Sir. To your Question...I would say it really depends on the type of signals you a scoping. Low level relatively low frequency are ok. Higher voltage, high noise (especially HT ignition) can render it near useless with constant lockup’s. I seldom use more than 2 or 3 channels simultaneously to be honest. I have tested it with all channel sampling a 1000hz 2V square wave and it seemed fine. I know this may not be a satisfactory answer but I have very limit experience with it utilizing more than 4 channels simultaneously. Cheers

    Put a coin on top of the coil on plug, probe the coin and you should get a signal. No need to probe pins. Just don't use the ground, there is no need.

    Picoteck is well done

  • @toshibatoshiba7229
    @toshibatoshiba7229 3 года назад

    I purchased a 6022BE product.
    Then I feel like a waste of money.
    It does not meet the standards of a technical device .
    Hardware .
    It is only capable of receiving + - 5Vdd .
    Signals larger than +- 5 Vdd will have amplitude distortion.
    Amplitude distortion is displayed on the screen.
    It does not achieve +-20V visibility like grid cell.
    Software .
    It's the dumbest show in the world.
    It has no drift mode. Like hospital electrocardiogram machines.
    When I want to research a long event .
    For example
    I set the timebas to 1000 seconds. Hanteck runs in the background and doesn't show anything.
    Until the scale is 1000 seconds, it will show up on the screen.
    For 1000 seconds, I couldn't see anything and went to wait for coffee.
    If the numbers reach explosive danger, then I don't know either.
    Because Hantek shows nothing on the screen.
    Hanteck should only install microphones for babies alo hello!

  • @ausmartin1
    @ausmartin1 3 года назад

    Yes the Hantek is USELESS with high voltage noise in the testing vicinity. YES - due to secondary high voltage effecting it to lockup - even reboot the connect PC by crashing the port etc.
    With the included HT-25 pickup... no matter how careful you route wires or select earth clamp.
    I purchased the 1008C to do Secondary ignition testing so a door stop. Got a Pico screw Hantek rubbish design and software.
    Maybe we should ban CCP China made substandard products that are not useable and end up in landfill plus wasting money! Your too kind ... Hantek are a FAIL.
