Some of the marines dying as soon as you walk into a room were cheesy but everything else was really cool especially how your squad of marines was gone when you went back up the first elevator. They definitely got mauled by those camo elite combat forms in the cutscene.

Honestly terrifying. My only gripe is that there's too many encounters with Marines dying just as you arrive before the combat starts. Otherwise this amplifies the atmosphere of the level so much. Also hilarious that you just noped out of the level on the first attempt.
In the lore the Chief wanted to GTFO as soon as he set foot on the swamp, if he had encountered what the mod added in canon he probably would have.... This mod alongside Ruby's Rebalanced and Combat Devolved are tied for the best 343 Guilty Spark changes in my opinion
I feel like the room of the cutscene is exactly how seriously the flood would have responded to a masterchief level threat if a gravemind had previously been established
A broken tank and tons of ammo and sum health on the ground just screams run, unless your Master Chief, the other regular soldiers who feel fear are the real heroes of this level cuz I'd be leaving as soon as I found a broken down tank like that 😬

Just downloaded this mod last week and I love it❤. I love the environment and the Ambience, In a way, it's more horrific than what it is in the base game and being a big doom 3 lover. I love the cut audio clip from doom 3 of the Marines fighting in the background over the coms. Just adds a whole new level of what's happening in the background. Well done A++ would highly recommend checking it out if you haven't tried it for yourself. 29:56

Great mod, but one thing should of been left untouched. The Flood having weapons until later on the level. It catches you off guard after you gunned down the infected marines and elites and then foind out these abominations aren't just mindless zombies as they start shooting you with whatever weapons they held upon infection.
What an absolute embarrassment for 343 industries. The modding community did a way better job with the lighting, tone, and atmosphere then Halo C.E Anniversary.
FIRST....was the slow burn....right when you land, you are watched from the shadows of a nearby tree that is cloaked, then the helmets on the ground with nobodies to speak of AND there is no blood + the tank being disabled really makes it a land mark.... 2nd, when you get to the entrance of the..... When you return back to the marines you left, you notice there are more bodies that you have not seen before....and as you return to your drop-point....their gone, ammo on the ground, no signs of a attack, NOTHING.....expect flares left behide. After that, you return back to the underground......the pile of bodies are gone now like they were never there.... NOW...this is what truly made me....actually scared of the flood for the first time in forever This entire thing put on edge: 13:32 ..........yeah.......plus i like the touch about Johnson being immune to the flood like in the books. What i can say about the next battle is.......well, New objective: SURVIVE AND ESCAPE. The Flood are here and- OH GOD THE MUSIC IS KICKING IN AND I CAN HEAR THE HOSTS SCREAM IN PAIN AND MOAN! .........After that (won't go into vanilla things like the elevator breaking down expect for more enemy's spawn) you make your way through the facility (more blood) then...you finally hear theirs voices 29:51 During ALL of this you are desperately trying to say nearby marines from a fate worse then death (if you rightly equipped) After two rooms of many flood..... there is no sound.....expect you and the remaining marines you saved.... and the facility itself.... As you make your way up, killing a few stragglers you missed but manageable, you encounter more flood and marines.....the marines lasted seconds... At this point, you get the feeling that your the only one who's going to survive this, not because of choice no no.....its because your the only one who's faster, stronger, and smarter then everyone else... You are now getting conformable with your new enemy's and the shock factor is over, you starting to get familiar with their tactics and now destroy them like there your old enemy's They bunch up, you punish them by plasma grenade, too many spiders, full auto gun = spray and pray This repeat's till - 36:19 Johnson greets with open arms with several marines with ammo...unfortunately, the elevator is broken too, so you continue onwards without Johnson and his squad. But it does not take long to find another room with a lone marine (i think) fighting off the flood...till you join. Delighted to see another marine, you make a dash to get to the other side....then your motion tracker goes off.... With a shotgun in hand you mop the floor of the....flood (did not mean to do that) destroying them and saving the marine. I do not know why the marine does not follow you but blame the AI code....it can be limiting at times. And....you found your way out of this hell hole. As you rise the top you see many marines about to be lunch.....you won't allow this. For a short brief rest, you and the marines are ready to go. The rest plays out as nor- OH ANOTHER SPARATN AND FOEHAMMER ACTUALLY ARRIVES. NOW...the rest plays out as normal. And to you dear reader, i thank you for you time and eye balls for reading this and now your mind has embraced horrors. Have a good night or day.

The Flood are the most horrifying monsters in video game horror history, way more scary than dead space monsters or Resident Evil zombies. The Flood have the John Carpenters the Thing gore horror sounds and looks to them that make them the most scariest ever! When I was 12 and first played this mission on my OG Xbox, I actually no joke, threw my controller out of fear and screamed and ran over and shut off my Xbox and shit myself. Didn't play the game for a few days and gained the courage to play it but with a friend because I was a pussy. lol

Although I did "like" the redone starting encounter because I got surprised and jumpscared by a ton of camo flood and then the whole battle had me pale-faced and terrified. So that at least, and the larger amount of blood and gore everywhere, was good.
true, but then again, it's the HAVOC mod. it's supposed to be chaotic and, dare I say, over the top. I feel like if they toned down the bodies and limited the gore to specific rooms, then it would make it a bit better.
