Pretty cool machine and process. I went to an agricultural high school and they had a tree spade . Used to grow and sell Arborvitae to fund school projects and educate ofc . Cool vid , Patrick. Haven't seen this in years lol
Awesome piece of equipment. In my area, they charge about two thousand dollars per hole. I was on a removal job at a golf course once, they had two trees planted by the time we had a stump!
Our company has a 48” and 60” Tree Spade, helped move lots of trees but B and Bing is the worst… Clay soil is a very mineral rich soil, but because of the ionic bond the nutrients are locked up… if you add gypsum to the soil bond is broken… Most farm land is just a growing medium, you can grow plants in 3/4 crushed gravel if you supply all the plants needed like they do in Aquaponics…
What would that cost in relation to buying a western red cedar ( I assume that's what it is ) of that size? That's the only issue I see with this, nice toy and task if you have the luxury to be rich enough to move your trees.

Man, here in south Texas you can’t dig deeper than a few inches without hitting solid limestone 🥲
