- Boulder is one of the best cities in America for cycling. We have over 300 miles of connected bikeways, there's endless routes in the mountains and there's pretty good mountain biking nearby. This video highlights the path system, a great place to start for out of towners or people who just wanna leisurely cruise around beautiful Boulder.

This was one of the videos I watched after my divorce, it always cheered me up. Thanks for sharing these amazing videos with the world, they may help someone find themselves and get out there!
There is about 10 miles of bike paths in my town but it is no where near enough. What we have is great for riding but not really for commuting to all the places you really need/want to get to.
You are so lucky to live in a town that is so bike friendly.
I am so jealous of your location. Living in Los Angeles, we are not bike friendly, I was fortunate in the 70's I lived near an industrial area that was nearly vacant on the weekends so I could ride my bike there without the worry of cars. Like most of L.A. cars are around 24/7. Enjoy your city.
I feel very fortunate to live in Boulder! Hopefully things will get better in LA, seems that many cities are finally building bike infrastructure
Loved this video, I wish my town had all those paths. Someday, I would like to bring my bike to Boulder.
It’s a beautiful place!
I’m planning a trip from the UK for Transrockies run next year. So excited! Absolutely getting a bike and exploring these paths. Please make more Boulder videos for the tourists!
You’re gonna love TransRockies!
I can't wait to get to Colorado. I'll be there soon 😄
This was one of the motivating videos that made me move to Boulder. I always loved mountain biking.
Right on!! Welcome to boulder
I just got home from an extended stay in Washington DC. very bike friendly town!! I enjoyed it very much. It was the first time I've explored a new city on my bike.
I can see I need to look for a project in Boulder! I'm a big fan of bikeways now!!
I love riding in DC! Keep on having fun and hope to see you in Boulder someday.
Grateful I stumbled upon your page a few months back. Really appreciate the content you put out. Don't change man. Much love
Thanks! I won't be changin', you keep watching, and I'll keep uploading! Cheers!
Thanks, man. Keep it up. I miss those trails. Boulder is still the best. I used to be able to coast all the way home to 38th and Aurora from Table Mesa. Baseline would be tricky if there was an occasional car. But I did it. (I no longer live there.)
My family and I were in Boulder 2 yrs ago as part of a traveling vacation. I had the pleasure of bringing my Road bike with me and riding some of the areas around that beautiful city. We actually stayed in a Cabin just outside Nederland, I rode my bike down Magnolia Rd then into Boulder. Worked my way over to Flagstaff and went up and back, then did some if the paths. We only had 3 days there and other things to do, but I definitely want to return to do Alot More routes.
roguenode That was definitely one of the steepest downhills I've ever ridden. So steep in fact, I could actually smell my brake pads on the way down. Maybe one day I will get the chance to attempt the ride up. I definitely tried to get in and much as possible in such a short time.
Great introduction to the Boulder bike paths! Can't wait to return. Thanks Ryan.
that is awesome, live up here outside of Boise Idaho, our bike paths don't even hold a flame to Boulders. If i find myself in Boulder i know there are great rides waiting for me.
Come on down and ride some Boulder!
Sweet highlight! Can't wait to see where this city can take cycling in another 10, 20, 30 years.
Me too!!
I love the boulder bike trails too! I ride them nearly every day! Thanks for making this video Ryan!
Thanks for watching, appreciate it. now if you'll excuse me, it's so nice outside, I'm off to ride. CHEERS!
I love your videos. They are both inspiring and beautiful. I hope you will continue uploading- you are an inspiration!
Thank you for the kind words, I'll keep uploading, I promise!!!
Damn it Duzer, I've lived in Boulder my whole life but am moving away in a month and your videos are just making it harder to leave!
oh man, that's a tough move, hope you get all you can out of boulder before you leave town. Cheers!

Where / what is worth leaving Boulder for? hah Seriously though, I'm curious!
@@JB5D A killer job opportunity, and the fact that I was young and wanted a new experience living in an area away from home. After having lived in SoCal the past 4 years though, I will honestly say F*ck California and I'm applying for jobs so I can move back to good ol' Colorado!
@@BoxCarBoy12 Nice! Thanks for sharing! I hear ya!
I plan on moving there from Long Island New York! I'm 20 years old and I feel as if I do not belong in congested New York, I'm ready for the move and to get intouch with myself and nature! thank you for your videos and inspiration!
There's all sorts of nature waiting for you in Boulder!
Thank you. This video helped me plan our summer trip.
It is so cool because I live in Boulder and when he takes videos in Boulder I am like oh I know where he is!
Hi Zoey! I love Boulder too
Watching in March 2024... More like this Ryan. Please! 😃
Great Video! These paths are so smooth, unbelievabe!
Thanks, smooooooth for sure
I was looking for a good place to ride my bike today and you just sold me on boulder, I’m gonna ride up the canyon!
KUDOS! Great Video Bro! This took me back to my childhood, very cool that you get to ride your childhood trails and very cool that they keep getting better. Your narrative was great, you covered all the questions I would have had and very informative with all the info. I feel like I got a personal tour and I'm ready to go ride Boulder now. The aerial shots and the ground shots along with the music was perfect. I wanna go! Liked, subscribed, commented and shared!
If it ever gets too cold in Boulder, come ride in Phoenix Arizona. We have great dedicated and maintained bike paths away from the roads and with underpasses at all major road crossings. Mountain views and sunshine in the winter.
Again, excellent video man and super cool that you still get to ride where you grew up. thanks for sharing!
3:12 He was my English teacher 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤗🤗🤗🥰🥰I love intercambio program 👌. Beautiful video I love Boulder Colorado ❤️
Lee es lo mejor!!
Ryan Van Duzer ,gracias por tus videos tan hermosos y por el ❤️tienes una nueva subscriptora 🤗
Love your video, on my bucket list!
Great video! I wish you would've done it in the summer so we could see all the green and flowers!
I'll do it again!
I lived in Boulder for nine years. Had to move back to MI. I'll be back someday.
I thought Boulder was a big city lol
Wow this is awesome!
Nice drone shots. On the east side of Mackinac Island there a whole metropolis of those rock stacks.
thanks!
Just watched a video from Sage Canaday who lives in Boulder too. I was wondering where he was running and then I stumbled upon this video, you guys have the most epic playground. Watching the Cuba trip vlog now. Awesome videos. keep it up Ryan !
Yep, Sage is all over these trails. Thanks for watching buddy!
You are really selling this place! I will certainly rent a bike if I ever get the chance to come to boulder
It's a pretty amazing place, come visit anytime!
Awesome video of our trails ! I shared it

Yes you do my man!
Nice work! You're a community asset.
Thanks my man, just reppin my home town!
I'm heading out to Boulder for the first week of August and am determined to not ride in anything with an engine during my stay. I'm super excited to rent a bike and see even more than I can on foot! Thanks for all of the great info!
Awesome! you are gonna love it and it's totally do-able to be human powered in Boulder, Have fun!
Thanks again! I have gone from wanting to rent a bike to bringing my bike with me... not sure Green Ride would appreciate (or accomodate) my enthusiasm. 😃

VD, great vid - especially liked your drone work and the shots of the Red Rock settlers park - stunning! That place has to be worth a video on its own :-)
Great video. Thumbs up.
Maybe visiting Boulder September, will love!!!! to ride there, hope I can get some time off and rent a bike.
You will love riding in Boulder!!!
love you channel duzer man I don't have a great bike right now but soon I'm gonna buy a nice one
Thanks for sharing and showing support of your town. You are a great ambassador for Boulder and the community in promoting health and wellness! #teamduzer (ps you need to make shirts that say that with the State logo) 🙂👍🏼
Thanks! I love my town! and I'm working on shirts
Can't wait to come ride these!
You will love these paths!

I love this!! I live in the English countryside and the roads are so freakin' dangerous- I wish we had a system like this!
Kat casey I feel you. Yorkshire is the worst
Bummer!!! When I think of English countryside, I dream of wide open roads and very few vehicles. I guess my dream has been ruined :)
Great video Ryan, thanks for sharing.
I like the fact that you still live in the area where you where born
Nice video man! I’m definitely bringing the family for a ride
you did an amazing job on this video.. many great cuts.. and beautiful scenery ! keep up the good work.. we will check out the boulder canyon trail ! thanks for the advice !
Ct Pham thanks!!! The canyon trail is awesome, you’ll love it
man, this makes me want to move to Boulder! but..... those winters! decisions decisions...
Winters are pretty mild actually, and the snow never stays for long.
Ryan Van Duzer tempting. :)
@@duzer I read it gets below 30 at night but like what time at night
Yeah, the winters In CO feel like summer in Maryland (where I'm from) The snow in Boulder is super dry (so feels even warmer - low humidity) Lived in a "house" with zero insulation all winter (in CO) wasn't so bad.
Awesome video
Havi Allred thanks! Subscribe for more fun vids
I have to admit that I'm very impressed with your system of trails. In the small town where I live we have a pretty nice setup, but it can't compare to yours. We need more signage, drinking fountains and portable restrooms would be helpful too. County officials are continuing to expand the system every chance they get. Unfortunately, not everyone understands the positive impact that the trail system has on our community. The way some people act, you'd think they were asking to build a prison in their back yard. I guess they'd rather have them tear out the trails and put the railroad tracks back in, ridiculous.
It's a struggle for sure, but all across the country, I see communities big and small putting in more effort to make their cities more bike and pedestrian friendly. Hopefully this trend continues
Denver is pretty damn great too. Almost as great as Boulder. Lots of bike paths and lanes here.
True
What crazy horn is that on your bike? You dont honk it in this video but i remember one where you did. IT sounds like the TDF car horns.
Amazing 😍
It is!
Kewl Video.
Thanks!
I am thinking of living in Colorado a couple of months out of the year. I am thinking of doing an Airbnb in either Boulder, Louisville or Neiwatt (sorry about the spelling) I am serious biker and hiker out here in the Washington DC suburbs. Recommendations please
Saludos amigo!
Is that the bike from the burningman trip?, maybe a review of your bikes, dont see the Fuel much. Was there a reason you stopped using it?
It sure is, The fuel is only for mtn biking, and to tell you the truth, when I mtn bike, I don't bring cameras. Good tip though, maybe I'll have to suck it up and make a vid about my fuel
Hi Ryan:) My husband and I love to travel in our RV from our home in Florida. We like to ride our tandem on designated paved or hard packed bike trails, not mountain bike trails. We have been as far as Canada and Alaska. We've also been to many destinations out west, but have yet to visit Colorado. So far, when I'm searching for trails in Colorado, they are all mountain bike trails or major roads. So it was great finding this video of yours with a trial we could ride. Do you know if there are any RV Campgrounds near enough to access the trails by bike? Also, can you recommend any other such bike trails throughout Colorado? Thanks!
hey Ryan!! Im from Iowa and gonna be traveling to boulder this May for my first time ever!! I am bringing my bike. Other than settlers park, what other trails are out there that are bike friendly?? I am also willing to carry (or push)my bike too if it means seeing some beautiful sights!!! I prefer trails away from the city noise, surrounded by nature with nothing but miles of green and mountain views
There's a very extensive system of bike routes in Boulder. This map will help you, assets.bouldercounty.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/bike-map-2019.pdf
Great video Ryan! Amy good off road paths for a Gravel bike? I've seen a bunch of great videos on paths in Boulder and some pretty hard mountain bike paths but cant find in between off road paths! Thankyou
Yeah, there’s plenty of that too, but I don’t have a video about it
Hey, Ryan. Thanks for the great video. I watched it way back when you posted it originally, but it popped up on my feed again. Thinking hard about possibly moving to a more bike-friendly city since bike and feet are my primary modes of transport. Being a big city guy, I'd prefer Denver to Boulder. Do you know how good the bike network is down that way? I've been a few times and thought the greenway system was amazing. But I wonder if Colorado takes more of a recreational approach to biking, and less of a transportation/commuting approach. The alternative would probably be Seattle or Portland, where most of the bike network is in-city and it involves a lot of separated cycle tracks. Would love to hear your thoughts, and thanks for all the great content and for being a positive voice in the bike world!
Much of Denver is alright. It's downtown Denver where the bike system really excels. There are the Platte river bike paths which are similar to Boulder's bike paths except not as extensive.
What really make Denver great are the separated bike paths on streets like Lawrence, Arapahoe, 14th, 15th, etc. I wish Boulder had more of those. Bike pathways are nice, but when you don't want to deal with pedestrians and you want to interact with local commerce more, separated bike paths are the way to go. The issue is that because they're only in the downtown area, you would need to live in that area to make extensive use of them. The rest of Denver doesn't have as good of bike lanes.
Are there good bars and brewery's on the paths?
On a Trek 920 👍👍👍
Hi Ryan,
My girlfriend and I are visiting Colorado for a week and want to do some biking in Boulder. I wrote down the details of the different paths mentioned in this video. About how long would it take if were to follow this route? Any other recommendations for must-sees while riding bikes in Boulder? Great video, thanks for your help!
fanekoley there’s so many great paths...the main Boulder creek path will get you to all the fun stuff in the downtown area...head west on boulder creek path and you’ll get into the mountains. Enjoy!!
What happens in winter , are they maintained and kept snow free ?
urbanmanc good question. They are plowed after every snow storm
I would be so much thinner if I lived in Boulder
How many miles can you bust out in a day on these trails?
In total, there's over 300 miles of dedicated bikeways in Boulder...so I guess I could do about 100 if I was feeling motivated
Poner subtítulos en Español, gracias !!!
hello mate rider i am french and like you video i suscribe i channel
May I ask a question to anyone that knows about it? How easy is it to go from/to CU Boulder to/from any part of the neighborhood?
Jesús Rodríguez CU boulder is super easy to access by bike. There are paths everywhere that connect to all parts of the city
Thanks for the quick answer! Good to know :D
Can these bike trails be used as a viable mode of transportation like in the Netherlands?
Absolutely! People use them everyday for commuting around town
@@duzer I would love to see more videos of the bike paths especially closer to your downtown
Are there many RECUMBENT TRIKE riders
Oh yeah, there's a little bit of everything in Boulder
In response to one of your previous videos I mentioned the Cold Avenger balaclava (with Darth Vader attachment). It can be purchased online from cozywinters.com if you or anyone else is interested.
Thanks my man!
dat sunglasses you look like van damme :)
Ha! Maybe a little :)
Also grew up in Boulder but go Knights jk lol
haha, Go panthers!
Ryan Van Duzer great videos though even if you went to boulder high lol how are minny and jake?
They're a little cold right now :)
Ryan Van Duzer yes they are lol
Go to the Netherlands! Leave the helmet at home.
This is no way your fault, as someone with a big audience you might help make change. I was definitely bummed out this weekend. I revisited Boulder for the first time since 2014. My wife and I went to ride the Boulder Creek path and it was covered with transients. There were tents and trash all the way up to the edge of the bike path. It most definitely didn't look this back in 2014. Yes, there's always been homeless, but setting up tents and leaving trash is overboard. Such a beautiful city, tainted by people not having pride. Hopefully, the parks department will force them to move and clean up. We ended up leaving after 10 miles, and discovered the South Platte Trail near Littleton. The Littleton area had no trash, no graffiti, and no tents. I will be reaching out to parks and recreation to let them know this is hurting tourism.
I hear you loud and clear. The encampments have become a major problem…they’ve broken them up numerous times, but to no avail. I’m not sure what the answer is :(
Is a Boulderite who doesn't own a bike really a Boulderite? I'm more often on a long board but I've still got 2 😂
Longboards are rad!
Why does it look so scummy? Did you film this in January or something?
Scummy? It was filmed in the winter, but I wouldn’t call it scummy;)
@@duzer Sorry, maybe that's too harsh.
I did make one this spring with all the beautiful green foothills, you might like that one better.
