      @@BJDBeautifullyJaggedDolls I used the photos of the pattern pieces and sized them up using Adobe Photoshop Elements (2006). I design originals for 18" dolls now, since 2015. Inspirations can come from so many different live 'model' garments/patterns, but I primarily drape. I have created well over 50 original patterns using draping. As you know once you create a basic, you have room to expand the habitat.

      @@creating1_c1999 I do the same with Barbie patterns. I use different pieces from different patterns to make something unique out of them. I am sure you do the same. I love watching fashion videos on YT to get ideas. We think a like. I don't think seamstress who design and make doll clothes get the credit they should. Making tiny clothes is not an easy thing to do. I plan to make a video on the subject in the near future. Thanks for watching 🤗 🌺

    Thank you for sharing this with all of us.. I've been searching for over several weeks now, on how to alter or find doll patterns for a 27" doll I recently purchased. Your insight just gave me all the ideas I was thinking of but didn't know how to put into practise.

    You are getting so good at this. The whole sitting on the floor thing I can relate I sit on the floor but I have to do this like roll and use my arms to get up so I don't hurt my knees. 46 years old this so much fun. A lot of times I will buy clothes that are my size but are little big and I'll alter them period and use leftover fabric to make outfit for my dolls.

      I can relate. I buy clothes at yard sales and thrift stores to make doll clothes. It can make sewing easier if you are able to use the original hems and so forth. Hugs, jagged sister. 🍸🙂🌹

      @@BJDBeautifullyJaggedDolls I'm like you the lazy seamstress. If the ends are finished I'm all like jackpot. The bottom of old jeans are Fab when making jeans of dolls. I make them all distressed or sew little things on them..

    Oh, you clever girl! I would never have thought of using those little pictures! I have loads of sewing patters (I sew large scale as well as doll scale), so I have plenty to work with.
    I can sympathise with the floor issues - I'm now so old that if I end up on the floor, I look around to see if there is anything else I can do whilst I am down there!😂

    Yay! You made the BJD blueprint video. I only now saw it and just had to watch it. I'm kind of disappointment that my country doesn't have readily available clothing patterns(I check regularly, no luck). Hell, we hardly have second hand stores. But I'm sure there is plenty of free pattern online that I can tweak. Thank you so much for this. I love it. 😊

    This is a fantastic idea! Thank you so much! Some patterns have instructions printed in a booklet that is perfect for 1/6 scale size, so all you need to do is photocopy the booklet with no image manipulation required. The other option is just tracing straight onto tracing paper.

    I can’t wait to try this! I bought some patterns for my Rainbow High dolls just because their body proportions are more junior petite and it’s hard to translate patterns to their exact body type, but I want to try this now! Maybe teen oriented patterns would work for teen dolls and child patterns might work for baby or 1/6 scale BJDs that are more chubby and baby like ❤️ Can’t wait to try out my new ideas!

    Getting in the floor can be scary after 50 hahaha. I like the big pillow ottomans. You said you were lazy back in the snoring segment, but this is a lot of steps lol. I have patterns, but never us them, I just measure, cut, and sew lol.

    Hi! I was curious also regarding the age of the newspaper. I saw it had the obituary of William E. Boeing. He died in September, 1956. How fun finding that old newspaper clipping/pattern!

      Wow, I did a google search and he was an American Aviator and founder of the Boeing Company here in St. Louis He indeed he died in 1956. That certainly explains the date of the newspaper. Ah, a little investigating goes a long way. Thanks for pointing that out. 🌻😊

      If you can't scan, remember in the video I showed you how to take a picture on your phone and send it to your computer. It works as well. I've done both.

    Is that software actually Irfan View ? I have found that for photo editing but not Earthen View

      IrfanView is an image viewer, editor, organiser and converter program for Microsoft Windows. It can also play video and audio files, and has some image creation and painting capabilities, and it is free. It's kind of that "wow" program.
      That's cool to know Booties are called Ugg boots in Australia. Here in the states, Ugg is a boot brand and have rubber type soles. Thanks for watching and sharing information. I love learning new things in the comments. 💜😊

    I was thinking about this technique before and I also was thinking of using soft craft felt with a needleless sewing machine, but there's not many results that I can see to know how it will look for some patterns and on super small dolls to use it since some patterns I make myself.

      I seriously do not know what a needleless sewing machine is. Shrinking and enlarging patterns this way is something I do a lot. I switch pattern pieces to make unique clothes and make my own patterns. This technic works with small dolls as well. Give it a try. I know you will love it.       Wool felt is a step up from craft felt and is more expensive. The square felt I showed in the video was craft felt. Sorry, I cut out the part that explained more about the felt to use in the next video and now see I shouldn't have. I plan to discuss it more in the video where I show how I made the coat and booties. The first felt I showed in the video, the smoke gray one is felt made with wool and sold by the yard. The squares are craft felt and are a lot cheaper., however, you can buy craft felt by the yard as well. Thanks for watching. Super glad you are excited for an upcoming video. Yay! (HUGS) 🌹🍷

It's all I have (I've been spending too much money on AliExpress *cough* *cough*). Really am excited to watch a real seamstress show us how to sew. I'm rubbish LOL I'm particularly bad at joining sleeves at the underarm bit (and you would die laughing at my sewing of in between the legs in trousers *blush*) so it's going to be amazing to see how it is done. Will there be any chance of buying a download of the pattern, Belinda? That would be so awesome.

      @@storyteller3927 You have nothing to apologize about. You did not jump the gun about anything. I didn't explain that and that is one on me not you. Mainly what you will learn from me, is what not to do. I've been sewing for like ever, but still have a lot to learn. My mom made all our clothes before we were teenagers, she is an outstanding seamstress. She taught me and my two older sisters, when we were old enough to hold a needle ( you noticed I didn't say, "old enough not to stick ourselves with a needle, because I still do that and a lot.) how to sew. 😪My oldest sister is very good at it, the middle sister can't sew and I get by. Funny how that works out...LOL. It is a dying craft and that makes me sad. Everyone should know how to sew at least a little bit. I am excited to show you guys how I made the coat and booties and to get suggestions for those who really know what they are doing. 💖😊

    Wow. Just wow! Gotta agree with Sailor Crafty: this really is a game changer. Great something else I need to start collecting :-/
    I've managed to scale UP a couple of Barbie patterns to both MSD and SD size but never thought to use human adult patterns because, I dunno, I guess I didn't realise that they were true-to-scale miniature pictures of the real pattern pieces.
    I have LOTS of AG/OG (18") patterns but just haven't found a way to make them work for the more hourglass figure of the BJD's. If you have any tips, I'm all ears.

      I would recommend scaling down the AG/OG pattern first. It should work just fine. If you want the more hourglass shape, you might try adding darts or tucks.
